I looked at many hotels before choosing this one when I went to Shilin. It was the most satisfactory stay during my trip to Yunnan for a few days.

Location was good in that it was around a lot of shops and stores. Front desk people were helpful in answering any questions that I had. I felt like I didn't have much access to the kitchen in cooking my own stuff. Sometimes I was confused about whether it was okay to eat the food that the chef cooked or those meals were only for guest that paid for it. I appreciate the front desk people for loaning out their phone charger to me on a temporary basis when mine didn't work until I can get a new one.

The room is very large and there are several buildings. The breakfast is also very good with many varieties, especially the rice noodles are delicious.

I always stay at Hongshan Lake Hotel when I visit Shilin; the quality is guaranteed. A business trip there was a wonderful surprise! A nice simple hotel for anyone who is looking for a cheap and convenient place to stay. The place is somewhat away from the main road and the nights are really quiet, you can even hear the crickets! The check-in was fast and smooth and the lady at the reception professional and very friendly. The breakfast costs 15¥ and you can eat as much as you want.
