It's in this beautiful setting that the Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake hotel stands. As the saying goes, 'Enter Banyan Tree, and you enter paradise.' Banyan Tree hotels are renowned for their commitment to nature, environmental protection, and embodying the essence of poetry and distant dreams, earning them a loyal following worldwide. The Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake officially opened its doors at the beginning of 2024. It’s no coincidence that Banyan Tree’s first hotel in Guangdong Province chose this location; the philosophies of both the brand and Songshan Lake are a match made in heaven. As an experienced hotel enthusiast, I had long anticipated the arrival of Banyan Tree’s first hotel in Guangdong, especially for a summer trip to Dongguan Songshan Lake. I’ve now visited twice. The hotel lobby itself feels like the beginning of an aesthetic vacation, enveloping guests in a blend of ancient tranquility, contemporary wellness, and a thoughtful, immersive experience. The front desk's backdrop features a painting by artist Wang Tiande, 'Banyan Secluded Abode,' an elegant landscape in a minimalist style that perfectly complements the lobby’s ambiance. Crystal at the front desk provided excellent service. On either side of the guest rooms are a walk-in closet, vanity, and bathroom. The bathroom is a standout, featuring Banyan Tree SPA's exclusive Thai Chamanard bath products and a Dyson hairdryer as standard – every detail screams luxury. The balcony boasts a soaking tub, offering a relaxing mineral bath experience for both body and mind. The 'Sunset Ritual' at Ri Ri Ting is a truly healing experience, where professional instructors guide guests through a singing bowl relaxation session, immersing them in ethereal Zen sounds to clear daily distractions and purify the soul. The Lobby Lounge has a stylish design with both indoor and outdoor areas. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer beautiful views of the lake and green forest, and the outdoor seating is surrounded by flowing water. It’s a perfect place to unwind with a laptop, enjoy a delicious afternoon tea, and spend a leisurely afternoon – a rare treat for relaxation. The Julius Meinl 'Little Red Hat' coffee served here was particularly to my liking. In the evening, the Lobby Lounge's menu also features a wonderful selection of signature cocktails, providing a satisfying escape into a beautiful night amidst a bustling life. Furthermore, the authentic Cantonese cuisine at Bai Yun Chinese Restaurant is a visual and culinary feast that leaves a lasting impression.

MMimizounijiuzouNewly opened hotel in Songshan Lake. First, the positives: it's quite close to Songhu Misty Rain. There's ample parking, and the front desk staff are very enthusiastic. The hotel breakfast is very rich. The room is spacious, and even has a recliner. The bathroom area is also quite good. Small downsides: the shower cubicle is a bit small, so you can't hang clothes inside. There are no hooks for clothes near the sink outside. There's a night light by the bed, but I couldn't find the switch to turn it off. Being newly renovated, there's a slight smell, which should dissipate in a few months.

GGuest UserThis hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to the Universiade Sports Center, with a small shopping mall nearby for added convenience. Turning right out of the hotel brings you directly to the Longfeng Villa 4A Scenic Area, which my kids absolutely loved. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities. The natural light and ventilation were fantastic, and a full set of toiletries was provided. It offers great value for money. We had a very comfortable and worry-free stay. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has an excellent location with plenty of dining options nearby. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, and the service is very attentive. The customizable noodle soup for breakfast was delicious. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have a robot delivery service for takeout. While the staff will bring it up, it can be a bit inconvenient, and sometimes you feel bad bothering them too much.

The service was warm and attentive; the front desk staff was very responsive to all our requests. I highly recommend it for your 51 (May Day) holiday trip!

GGuest UserRight before Chinese New Year, my friends and I decided to take a short trip and chose this hotel because it's quite close to home, about an hour's drive away. It's also not far from the highway exit, which makes it convenient for self-driving. The hotel itself has a strong festive atmosphere for the New Year, and there are many facilities for kids to play with. I'd recommend it for families.

The hotel's location is good and convenient for taking a taxi to train stations and other places in Dongguan. Service is very good. All the staff we met had a great attitude and answered all our questions patiently. The rooms and restaurand were a bit out-dated, and the rooms had a slight smell of smoke. But it was clean and spacious. The pool was not usable, as the water was dirty and seemed not to have been cleaned in a long time.

AAnonymous UserWell the hotel just reopened these comfy queen rooms on the 4th floor which I stayed numerous times on my previous visits. So I booked immediately as I like these rooms with a big shower cubicle but I forget there's another drawback that is really a pain in the neck. Regrettably these rooms (especially the ones with the odd numbers) sit above the karaoke on the 3rd floor and it opens until 2am. Imagine the noises of music and lyrics of the singer (usually half drunk) running through the room while you are trying to get done sleep. It was a complete catastrophe that night and I didn't get to sleep until 1am. I didn't get this nightmare on my previous stays until this karaoke facility was reopened last year. I strongly recommend not to book these rooms if you're a light sleeper and have a business to deal with on the next day. Other than the above crises, the room has a update smart tv, all the mirrors were frosted and the glasses of the shower cubicle were also tinted. Without any doubts ,it was my fault to book such a room but I think it's also the responsibility for the hotel management to put a reminder on the website like they advertise late check out amenity. As a hotel is basically served as a logging purpose rather than a singing facility. My suggestion is to work on the noise barrier if the karaoke is there to stay. 😞😞😞😞😞😞😞
