I think this is a very good hostel. The staff are very welcoming and provide breakfast in the morning. I met some friends here and they are very interesting. The hostel provides free heating microwaves, refrigerators to store food, and hot water for bathing. , there is a hair dryer for hair, and there is also a luggage cabinet. You need to prepare a lock yourself. The air conditioner in the room is turned on 24 hours a day. The breakfast in the morning is very interesting and it is very lively in the evening. Friends from all over the world gather here, and there is also a bar. I Ordered 2 beers here for 70 baht. At 140 baht for 2 cups, I thought the price was very reasonable and I had a lot of fun here. If I have a chance next time, I will book here!

The room is super small and the curtains can't cover everything
The whole space has very no privacy
Very uncomfortable to live in
The room is not very clean either
The location is not very good either
At the end of the alley, some distance from bts
For this price, you can stay in much better hostels in Bangkok.

Good value for money, great atmosphere! The service is also very good! Many foreigners!
The sound insulation upstairs is not good, and the bunk on the double bed is not easy to climb up! Heads banging on the roof and the army of mosquitoes in the courtyard is terrifying!

Great location -- not in the middle of downtown but in a cool neighborhood (Ari) not far away. Great staff, facilities, fruit-filled breakfast. I had a private room, clean and comfy. Social atmosphere was perfect -- Good outdoor space for socializing but not a crazy-loud party hostel. All facilities -- washing machines, AC, hot water, wifi in rooms as well as common areas -- all worked great.

Chose to stay by photos and did not calculated right. I’m reviewing this to remind some of you who might expect something different like me. Me and my friend booked to stay in a room with private bathroom since we like the hostel culture however we are not really comfortable with sharing bathroom so we tend to paid for the private. What we did not expect was the hostel was built in the big Container blocks. However our room was top floor and at the end so didnt get much noise on the first night. But the A/C was broken and was so hot for a summer night in Bangkok. It was windy that night so we could hear the jackfruit tree infront of us was knocking us every 3 minutes and we did not even expect the curtain pole to fall down . The shower was not strong as well. We informed the hotel and thankfully the service was quick, they do everything that they can to make us comfortable by providing fan, changing the room next day as soon as other room is available but it became downgraded without bathroom attached so refunded the extra money as well. We much appreciated for that and there was a comp service recovery for us as well. The private room with sharing bathroom was okay with everything however as a container building, you hear footsteps passing by and some people talking loud in the yard at night. But we didnt mind since that’s the hostel’s culture. The sharing bathrooms were clean and shower pressure was also much better than the private. I would rate 2 stars just for the ambiance after the experience if there was no service this quick and accommodating.

This is an idyllic little slice of hippie heaven nestled in the busy city. The bathrooms and bunks are nice and clean. The AC in the rooms is very powerful. The best part of this hostel is the GORGEOUS breakfast they provide in the mornings! The only things that could make this hostel better is somehow mitigating the mosquitos. I was unable to sit outside during the day or at night because the bugs were so bad. Also, a more well stocked kitchen. They have 1 induction plug in burner that the restaurant also uses. So it is never in the kitchen and you always have to go searching for it. They also only have 1 pot and 1 pan and like 1 fork and cup? They need more silverware, plates, etc. If you are not planning on cooking any food, and you're not bothered by bugs, this place is perfect! Just something to keep in mind because I was under the impression they had a full kitchen. They DO however have coin operated laundry that washes very quickly, which was perfect! (50 baht for wash, 50 for dry)

I booked via their Homepage. When I arrived they told me they didn't get the booking because the site won't be used anymore. The hostel was fully booked. I got a provat room for one night. The second night I had to move to another hostel next to them. Noone offered me some help to carry my lagguage. They only seid sorry and that's it. No Drink for excuse or something else. At the end I hat to pay the amount for the private room even I booked a shared one. The booking-confusion was definitiv their fault not mine. It's sad cause the atmosphere and the people seemed to be very nice.

The yard is gorgeous! The staff are very friendly, family, indeed. The bar and restaurant were pretty good, I noticed local expats coming for after work drinks and a meal. The only reason for not getting 5 stars is technically not their fault maybe; residents are a little cliquey. As a solo traveler, the staff were the most friendly and willing to continue a conversation. Having said that, this is my first solo experience in a hostel, so maybe I need to be more intentional in my pursuit of conversation, lol. Let’s see at the next place.

The Yard has everything a traveller needs! It's such a cool, convenient and cosy hostel and the staff are some of the loveliest people I met in Thailand. The 4-bed dorms are small but what makes them even smaller is when people leave their huge backpacks on the floor so there's no more floor space and then trying to get to your bunk can be a bit tricky! I mostly used this hostel as a transit stop each time I was in Bangkok and I wish I had stayed longer to fully enjoy the vibe of the place and connect more with the staff and other travellers. I will always pick this hostel over others when in Bangkok and I would love to try the private rooms next time.

Great hotel with lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff. Breakfast had lots of fresh fruits each morning. Rooms were nicely decorated and we loved the huge floor to ceiling windows and loft-style rooms. The wifi was fast and reliable.

My first hostel in Bangkok set the bar incredibly high for the ones that will follow. This is a wonderfully social and eco conscious place to stay; a true oasis in a cosmopolitan like Bangkok. The staff is there to not only help you with what ever you need, but also to create a human connection. They organize all kinds of extra curriculum stuff like yoga and an ice bath in my case. Oh and the included breakfast is super tasty and nutritious, thanks to the cafe around the corner. Furthermore it’s clean, safe and a relaxed hostel you’ll be staying in. Rooms aren’t to big, though private enough to get the job of a good night sleep done. It’s a little outside the center of all tourists sights, however with the sky-train and or the subway it’s easy to get where you need to be. The area where they are located has lots of hidden gems to discover too. Enough said.

My husband and I stayed at the Yard as our first stop in Thailand. It was a wonderfully accommodating spot for us to adjust in. Public train accessible by about a 10 min walk. Som, was sooo welcoming and helpful to us slightly overwhelmed and tired new to SE Asia travelers. I also appreciated the map, key Thai phrases, and recommended spots guide they had at the front desk. Som pointed us to an excellent massage spot nearby and held our hand a bit to get to the best train station to access Ayuttaya (go there if you’re in Bangkok or heading North). They provided a water refill station which was most helpful for our explorations in the heat of June. Our private room had a great view of the lovely green courtyard and a comfy bed. Coffee and food at the cafe on the property was delicious! It’s a bit farther than we realized from The Grand Palace and Chinatown areas we were excited to discover, but Grab was convenient for transportation. Underestimated the size and beautiful chaos of Bangkok! Be weary of taxi drivers not being familiar with this location though. Def recommend the Yard!
