Our room had no windows or balcony , it felt like a jail room . Beds were uncomfortable, pillows and mattress not good either , bed squeaky . Phone was out of order  Lift not practical  Tv was an old and small hidden in an old style cupboard. Not enough power points in the room . Location is exceptional though staff were very nice and helpful . Bathroom was very good 👍🏾

I would say I have some mixed feelings about this hotel. I like the building; it is truly a historical building. However, there is a lack of staff. I sometimes have to wait for the staff. Other than that, I loved the room. The hardware is great, but the software issue caused an overall error.

The hotel itself if fantastic heritage building, I liked the location and historic atmosphere. Be prepared to check-in at the bar, if there is nobody at the reception and to pay for street parking, as hotel parking may be full. The room is nice, a but outdated, but clean, and that is not that bad for heritage hotel

Great experience

I paid a high price for the retro style after seeing the pictures and checked in that night, but I was very disappointed! First of all, the front desk on the first floor is not as big as the bar counter, and there is no one. We waited for more than ten minutes and finally the bar aunt helped us check in. The lobby is connected to a cheap casino, and there are groups of drunkards at night... The room cost nearly 2,000 RMB, the walls were moldy everywhere, the curtains were covered with dust, there was no hair dryer, no toothbrush or toothpaste... The bed was so old that it creaked... In addition, there was actually an attic! ! There were spider webs on it. No kidding, I thought I was here to play an escape room. It was too gloomy and I didn't dare to turn off the lights

The hotel is located in the center of Ballarat. It was founded in 1853 and still retains the 19th century decoration style. The hotel staff is very enthusiastic and will introduce the various facilities of the hotel in detail when checking in. Parking is available at the door of the hotel, and you need to pay for more than one hour during the day. The hotel also has an old-fashioned elevator that makes people feel like traveling through history.

Come to Ballarat and stay here. Go to the gold rush town of Mount Shufen during the day and return to the hotel at night. Walking around feels like traveling back to the 19th century. It's very tasteful. Although the facilities are not comparable to international chain brands, it has a different flavor overall. It is worth staying here

The room is very retro and a different experience

The hotel has a long history, and the decoration in the public areas and rooms is very retro and artistic, with many paintings. The elevator is still an old sliding door style. It feels good to live in it. Highly recommended!
