Half way through our stay here. The rooms are lovely and clean, and updated to modern expectations in an old building. Staff have been wonderful. Really good value for money. The only downside so far has been the restaurant (Louise Taverne &Bar a Vin). As we were checking in to the hotel this morning, other customers told us the place is lovely but not to eat here. We decided to go anyway, just wanting a drink while we waited for our laundry to dry… and we may have thought about eating there if all was ok. We were totally ignored, despite trying to attract the attention of the man in charge of the outside area (around a dozen tables, four of which were occupied). We asked someone else if we could sit down. They referred us to him. We waited while he cleaned a couple of tables, walked past us to talk to someone, walked inside and fiddled around in there for a while, walked out again and cleaned a couple more tables, went round us to get to another table where he rearranged the setting. Walked back to near where we were standing and then turned around to chat to some people he had served since we had been there. Don’t know what sort of self-important trip he was on but we left and will not return. But… that led to a delightful experience at 900 Rue Saint-Paul across the road (separate review coming).

Very clean, larger than I imagined, maybe because the foreigners are tall, I arrive at night, I need to go to the next door to checkin, I will reserve the key, and the deposit will be refunded extremely quickly.

First time staying at a Best Western in a long time. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean with no outside noise. I appreciated that there was no bed spread to decorate but only the duvet covered by sheets. Internet was fast and easy to access. The AC/Heating was a little loud at night when it started up, looked like the system was on the older side. The price was not much cheaper than hotels closer to the city, so I think I light breakfast could have been included, especially since there were not breakfast options in walking distance besides their restaurant, as we could see. Overall a pleasant stay and would go to a Best Western again.

We found this to be a charming hotel; the modern renovations paired perfectly with the original brick walls. The staff was friendly and fluent in both English and French. The room was very comfortable, good pillows and a great shower. The location was perfect for us with easy access to restaurants, shopping and the old city. There is a rooftop terrance which we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy due to rain. However, there is a lounge in the basement that has a pre-pay wine dispenser, a free cappuncino machine and board games, as well as areas to spread out and relax. The breakfast was rather subpar for the price, but the convenience on a bad weather day made is worthwhile. We didn't use the gym, but it looked adequate for most vacation needs--especially with all the walking you can do in the area! There is an elevator in the hotel, but note that the front entrance stairs are steep. There is a back entrance that the taxi/uber can access. Also note that the front desk is not staffed 24 hours a day, so you need to make arrangements if you have a late check in. We did enjoy our staff every much, and look forward to staying there the next time we are in Quebec City.

The location was a big decision in choosing this hotel and it did not disappoint! It is literally in the center of everything and steps away from sights, shopping, restaurants but also away from the noise of bus loads of tourists. The security of the hotel was a great bonus as a solo female traveler! Staff was friendly, the rooms/common areas were always spotless and the decor makes this place a unique spot for sure. I simply loved it and will absolutely be back.

This was our first visit to Quebec City and we wanted to stay somewhere close to Old Quebec. I liked that this hotel is right off the highway and less than 10 minute drive into Old Quebec and Centre Ville Quebec City. We requested a room with 2 double beds and liked that there were 2 flat screen TVs in the room. They gave us a room on the 3rd Floor next to the elevator with view of the parking lot, but we did not hear any noise inside the room. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel elevator is slower than most but what is different than other hotels is that you need to hold the floor button down until it reaches your floor, if you take your finger off, the elevator stops. There is only one ice machine, on the first floor, but was not in working order. We notified the front desk and they were aware and fortunately she able to give me some ice. Since we had to check out little early we decided not get the room with breakfast option. Also, we didn't have time to use the Spa services. This is a nice small hotel which doesn't have all the amenities that larger hotels have but this hotel offers free parking and free WiFi .

The room is a little small, but the view is good. It is a bit inconvenient to change two elevators to go up and down the stairs. The front desk service is very thoughtful and polite, and there is a special car at the door. The location of the hotel is very convenient and quiet at night.

The hotel's environment, sanitation, services and facilities are quite good, the hotel also provides a free underground parking garage, the small parking lot on the ground and the management staff also give parking. There are two big beds in the hotel, such as sleeping four people is still very loose. The bathroom is also large, clean and tidy, and the shower room is hot and large. The public facilities are complete, there is a gym and swimming pool, and the opening hours are also very long. The surrounding traffic is quite convenient. There are three buses that can go directly to the old town. There is a large Wal-Mart supermarket on the road, next to a large MALL. Further connected is the famous LAVAL University. For the winter students to shop without freezing, they have built a passage from the school to the shopping center. Everything is very user-friendly. However, there are also two regrets. First, I am reminded that I have already enjoyed the credit guarantee and I am exempt from the guarantee. However, the customer service call must be guaranteed by us, so that we had to change the advanced hotel processing payment, and also made three international long-distance calls with the customer service to bear the international long-distance telephone charges. Second, we booked the price of the two rooms on Ctrip. It’s 301 Canadian dollars. If you pay to the counter, you need to charge 311 Canadian dollars. I don’t know why? In short, I am satisfied with the hotel and have the opportunity to stay.

This hotel is located in a very convenient location, near the walls of Old Quebec City, the reason why we chose it. We arrived on a Tuesday, late afternoon and were VERY frustrated that we waited in line for ONE HOUR to check in to the hotel. There were only five groups checking in, before us. There was one employee and a manager, the manager was training the employee. The manager refused to check people in herself, was curt, and kept telling clients not to approach the reception desk until called forward. The wait was unacceptable, made worse by the impolite manager. The room was clean but cold and sterile. The linoleum wood-look floors made sound echo and were not warm. The room had no couch, only 2 plastic-covered rocking chairs that would have been better placed in a retirement home. Meals and parking are not included in the standard rate, making it more expensive for a basic room, than what it seems. Booking online, the quote for 2 adults for 3 nights in a basic suite, was $711. With parking and a room hold, the charge was over $930 CAD for 3 nights.

Wonderful stay - the property is as charming as it is convenient. We had the studio with kitchen on the ground floor. The back door opened right to our private parking space so it was really easy to get around. Everything was spotless and well appointed. We checked out the terrace but of course it was cold and covered in snow. It’s sure to be wonderful during warmer months. The guest portal is very helpful. This was our first visit to Quebec City and our son’s first visit out of the US - this made a terrific first impression! There are restaurants and shops up and down the street. We would definitely book again in the future. Thanks especially to Jade, who was consistently patient with my questions!

Mmathieug691We rented a loft at the last minute by calling directly down. We told them that we were going to arrive late because we had a reservation in a late restaurant. We arrived at 1:30 a.m., we never had access to our loft. No indication, no good code left there. The emergency service line has no idea how to help us. It was not able to reach anyone from 1:30 to 3:30 AM on Friday night Saturday. We had no other indication than waiting for someone to call us by making us waiting for the corridors. We never had a return of call, never had any excuses, never offered to pay back. I had to insist by calling and I was told that 3 people were too foolish to get back a code and they didn't believe us ... as if we had just done this for 2 hours 30 in the night. And that we had time to get stubborn with them. The supervisor refused to identify, doesn't want to leave his name after we've been hanging on our nose. We refuse to pay our differences and we have not even paid the price in advance. We intend to prosecute these owners in court so insulting.
We picked this ”manoir” because of its location, and because of the nice reviews we read on Tripadvisor. We were in for a surprise. The asian man at the reception was very friendly, and kept our luggages until the room was ready and offered to put our suitcases in the room when ready. He gave us the key of the room and off we went to visit beautiful Quebec. The positive: the location (very central in the old town, you can walk pretty much to any touristic spot), friendly staff and a comfortable bed. The negative: when we came back, we opened the door of the room, only to be faced with a steep staircase (with no railing). Our room was IN THE BASEMENT. A very tiny window with a AC unit taking most of the space, janky finishes (the coffee bags look straight from Costco, the hangers in the closet were mismatched and straight from a nearby drycleaning shop), veryyy low ceiling with pipes running through it, even smaller celing in the bathroom (my head touched it and I am only 5ft8), no place to put the towels to dry, no room service (we stayed 3 days and they didn't do the beds, or change the towels or anything...) The very negative: there was a lot of noise coming from the street, and there was also a dead cockroach at the bottom of the stairs in the room (see pic) So based on MY experience, I wouldn't recommend this place, and I certainly won't come back there. We managed to make the best of it and to enjoy the beautiful city tho (we tried to spend as less time in the basement as possible).
NNBtravellerCANWe visited this hotel for a few days to check out the pool and atmosphere based on the photos. here are some of our thoughts 1. The pool has no shallow end, make sure you bring floaters if you have kiddos who cannot swim. 2. The sauna is just a warm water tub with jets but is quickly crowded as many don't like how cold the main pool sometimes gets. Just depends on your hot/cold tolerance. 3. Do not look at the ceiling in the pool area, it is nasty with lots of rust on the ceiling and filth hanging down from the ceiling fans. It's far away but still unsightly. 4. The rooms are dark and outdated. The coffee maker in our room worked on the first day and never again. There's a dampness / cigarette smoke smell that lingers in the rooms. I'm not sure if these used to be smoking rooms but that smell never went away. Both TVs in our room were also broken by day 2. If you value quiet, do not ask for a courtyard/pool view, it is very noisy! Rooms facing outside the hotel are quieter. 5. The onsite restaurant is descent, food pretty good but understaffed and they get quickly overwhelmed if large groups show up, which they do on our trip. They did their best but were not ready for the influx. Overall we had a good vacation but value for money just isn't there, especially if the hotel gets busy.
CCalgaryParentsUpon arriving in our room on the ground floor, we found it to be quite hot. However, we thought that maybe the A/C had been turned off, so we turned it on and hoped that it would cool off. We set off to explore a bit. On our return, the room seemed even hotter, and we had a night of very little sleep due to extreme heat. The air conditioning was letting out a tiny bit of cool air that could only be felt by lying on one side of one of the beds. In the morning, we contacted the off site staff, and said that the air conditioning appeared to not be working properly, and stated that we had experienced an awful night of no sleep. We asked if they could at least find a fan, and have somebody look at the unit. We were told that they would look for a fan. By late afternoon, my son, walked back to the hotel for a nap, and the room was unbearable. There was no fan delivered. When the rest of us returned, we were shocked with the heat, and literally sat with cold cloths on our heads attempting to keep ourselves cool. We immediately tried to contact the off site staff again. Response was slow, and when we finally heard back, we were told that they couldn’t find a fan. My husband said that there was no way that we could stay in the room with the temperature the way it was, and asked would they be able to move us. The lady we spoke to said she would call back in 5 minutes to either change rooms, or move us to one of their other properties. Great we thought. However, no phone call came, only a text to say that they couldn’t move us anywhere and that they could refund us but could be of no further help. Although we appreciated the refund, the hotel had all day to deal with this issue, but couldn’t even find a fan. This left us, on our vacation, spending time trying to relocate. Thank God we found somewhere, but we specifically chose the St. Pierre due to its location, and we are now considerably further away. I rate this hotel 2/10 for customer service. They were not quick to respond, and we felt they should have called us back and offered a personal apology rather than a terse text of “so sorry”. Would definitely not stay again
JJenny Kim1I liked the hotel location and facilities. The indoor pool was amazing and the live stage was so good. I would definitely visit here again and book the terrace view next time.
However, there are few things that I was very dissapointed.
The room was not managed well. There are white things are around the floors (it looks like painting or wall paper. I asked to change the room, but the new room has the same problem).
Hair dryer was phsically broken and not working.
Heater is not working and when I turn on, it is very noisy.
There was a party when we stayed and it was very noisy until almost 1 pm. We called at 12:30 and the reception said they send a security. However, it was still noisy after 30 mins).
崔崔The hotel is more than 10 minutes drive from the ancient city. The location is very good. There are commercial facilities, gas stations, big supermarkets, etc. It is simpler breakfast, no meat...
We loved this hotel and all that they offer. We took advantage of what was there when we were not out touring la Ville de Quebec and the surrounding areas. It's a great place for couples or families. Our friends came with their family also and we want to return again next summer
GGuest UserThe gentleman at the counter is Chinese. Very polite and polite. Particularly friendly? He even took my suitcase upstairs. grateful!
The room has a microwave and refrigerator. There is a coffee machine at reception. The greeting was great. The bed pillows are clean. From hotels to all attractions. Old port and so on, the journey takes about 20-25 minutes.
