Friendly counter and allowed to go to my twin room 4 hours early. Very clean hotel with towels and water supplied. No kettle but I think this must Bea Belgian thing. The station is opposite but it is 20 min walk to the old town. Fine for me but some may want to be nearer. The walk there is the main shopping street. Overall I think it was great value. As a note to other guests, and I always write this, please be more considerate when talking in the corridors especially before 8am. Whisper, your voice echoes and sound meds like you’re shouting. And don’t allow to doors to slam shut!!

Wow -- since the amazing renovations the place is spectacular. I've been to this hotel countless times and it seems to improve each year. So many of the staff have been with them for many years, and they couldn't be better, right down to the lovely Julie in housekeeping. This hotel offers so many amenities, it's so visually beautiful, the service is exceptional and I can't wait to return very soon! The location can't be beat, with gorgeous views of the park and walking distance to all the major attractions.

We have reserved this hotel using a Bongo check and we have been pleasantly surprised by this new hotel, very conveniently located within a few hundred metres from the Central Train Station in Antwerp, that provides for everything a traveller needs in terms of accommodation and is at the top of technology as it states: it's connected. The staff is very nice and helpful and we really had a great stay. I warmly recommand it. And, as a little bonus, they are very accommodating when it comes to the four paw members of our families.

The hotel is located 5 mins walk from Central Station (down the side, not towards the front), so great when arriving by train. Easy to walk to the main parts of town. Check in was at a couple of tables to the left of the entrance. Had a clean twin room and even after we pushed the 2 beds apart properly, there was plenty of space. Large bathroom with plenty of space around and under the sink for personal toiletries, although nice hotel toiletries (hand wash, moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner) were supplied. For some reason we had 2 shampoos in the walk in shower and when we told housekeeping when going out and asked for shower gel, we were left with another shampoo. This was not an issue though as we'd brought our own stuff so just used that instead. Complimentary bottle of still water provided every day which was nice, although the tap water is perfectly clean and drinkable. Flavoured (fresh mint or fruit) water, apples and gummies provided on a table near the entrance/exit, which was a nice touch. Staff very friendly and helpful. We didn't have the breakfast at the hotel as there are so many other options nearby in the town and our main reason for going to Antwerp was to eat locally.

Highly recommended for those who want to have a good access to the city centre of Antwerp. The WiFi is great and well connected. The room is very comfortable and clean too. Easy access to the public transport system and restaurants. The convenience store is located on the next door. Enjoyed staying at this hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a weekend getaway with friends. The check-in process was a bit long due to an issue with the visibility of my advance payment made the day prior. However, once this was resolved, we were treated to complimentary refreshment drinks in the check-in area, which were most enjoyable. The lounge and bar boasted a modern, chic design. Before booking this hotel I had read some reviews mentioning the loud music in the lift. This was no longer the case. I was a bit disappointed to find that DJ's were only present at the bar on Fridays. I did not have breafkast during my stay, I may reconsider on my next visit. The room was ultra clean, the bed was super comfortable. The overall experience was positive, and I look forward to my return.

I had a very negative experience with the front desk staff that checked me in this past week. My husband and I booked a stay at this hotel back in April for 4 nights. They sent me an email stating that they weren't able to charge my credit card on the reservation, which made sense because we had forgotten we had just received a new card to replace the expired one. They asked that I look at my account, so they can charge a new card. If I failed to do that in 24 hours, then my booking would be cancelled. Approx 13 hours of receiving that email, I went in and updated the credit card information on the account and sent them an email confirming I did so. When I arrived at this hotel to check in a month later (which was this past week), the front desk staff told me that the reservation was cancelled. I showed them the email that they sent me and the one I had sent to them. I also showed them my original reservation number. They looked into it for a while, but they told me that ultimately the reservation was cancelled so they can't do anything. They were also all booked up on one of the four nights we were supposed to stay there, so they could only check us in for 2 nights (Thurs-Fri). Up to this point, I was confused but I wasn't upset. I understand things can happen, and I was eager to work this out. However, what really pushed me over the edge was the fact that the front desk staff showed no empathy for the situation I was in. I told them that I never received any email that my reservation was cancelled. I even asked if there were any other alternative hotels, as we were traveling from outside the country and did not know the area well. The staff person I was talking to responded with very little attempt at professionalism, and instead told me that we should solve this ”later” as I was holding up the line. I believe her words were along the lines of, ”you should turn around, look at the line.” When I asked her when ”later” would be, she let out a small laugh which was a very confusing response to what I thought was a valid question. This is when I was starting to feel incredulous. I wanted her assistance, but I got rudeness and condescension in return. I tried my best not to raise my voice even though I was getting frustrated, and I told her that I felt I was getting penalized for something that wasn't my fault. Still, there was no attempt to help me with the situation, and I felt like I was being waved away. At the very end of our interaction, the staff person told me that if there is a room that opens up on Sat they would contact me to let me know. I asked how they would contact me on updates (would it be through the hotel phone? My international number? Call, email, or text?) and I received a very frustrated look and a sigh in return, not a helpful response. I am still unsure why she acted this way, when I genuinely wanted to understand how I would be contacted. (And they never actually contacted me... even to tell me they were still all boo

The big cons for us were these two situations; 1) When we got to our room and started settling down, I spotted underwear (previous occupants') which had found its way under one of the furniture in the room. It turned out to be clean but we informed reception on our way out into the city and they quickly apologised and had someone sent to our room to clear that out. - Cleaners could do a better job giving one last check when cleaning rooms between occupants, though I do understand that the days we were there was when the hotel was fully booked. But still. 2) That night, around 11.30pm when we were in our room with the window shut, we started hearing people shouting like hooligans from outside on the street -- so we shouted at them from our room o keep quiet as it was late and shut the window again. Then we started hearing these guys (4 or 5 of them) shout at us to go down and fight them (?) and asking us what our room number was (??). We also saw them trying to count the floors and windows. Obviously we didn't tell them, but we informed reception. About an hour later, there was VERY loud banging on our door and shouting for us to come out, once again we called reception and after a while the shouts stopped. We didn't feel very safe even to go out to the smoking area, so we called reception for some kind of help or assurance (and later on went down to talk to the person at reception at the time (the night reception, named Wim) to which we were told that; - Ppl shouting at us from the street below for our room number to go down to fight, & the people banging on our door to come out and fight was *apparently* not the same ppl. - Ppl banging on our door, was apparently a drunkard banging on everyone's door, and may not even have been a customer of theirs (which is extremely unlikely). - That we shouldn't have shouted back at them to keep quiet, because apparently it was fine to be shouting on the street directly outside the hotel up till 2am. The entire time he didn't apologise for the disturbance or reassure us even once that we would be safe - only said that they could help to call the police if something happened. -- Basically the night reception was really bad, and I was honestly worried for our safety that first night. Wasn't great.

Parking is a public parking lot, so you can't leave once you park. It costs 20 euros for 24 hours, and you have to pay the difference every time you leave after parking. It costs 4-5 euros per hour. There are commercial facilities, supermarkets, pharmacies, shopping malls, burger shops, and other restaurants within 200-400m walking distance, so it's convenient. The hotel was very comfortable, spacious, and clean.

The least to say is that this hotel has known better days ... very long ago! The rooms are gloomy lit, furniture and curtains outaged, floorcarpet with numerous dirty spots, bathroom is extremely basic and the worst is the heating: I arrived in the room at 6 p.m. and the heating was off, temperature was probably around 15 or 16° - only after a couple of hours it was better, but though put on maximum, I hardly could get more than 18° during the night. Breakfast, for 23€, was spartan; scrambled eggs and bacon were cold.

We got to know the hotel a few years ago and we made it a yearly tradition to come back. We enjoy every moment, from the moment we enter the hotel to the moment we leave. The breakfast is super, lots of choice and in very special surroundings... Really a true gem to stay in

The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. I take you a point in the cleaning assessment for using a moquette, not because it was dirt or much less, cleaning is deserved a 5 too, but I know it is vital for people with allergies and other impediments with it. Fantastic hotel, central and easy access... the only one but we could not use the wellness space because it was full booked, they could give priority to the hotel guests, for the rest, all right

The hotel location is a bit far from Brussels but very nice experience for the over night stay at the hotel. The hotel was ver nice, clean, tidy and we organised Mosaics in the hallways wer a bit worned up by compare to the rest of the facility it is a marginal problem. The room was nice, big, clean, tidy and pleasant . The bed was gift and nice, and good to fall in sleep in it 😊 The restaurant was tidy , clean and well organised, the breakfast was excellent with variety of choices. I will highly recommend this place and will definitely return to this hotel.

From the very beginning, our stay was tainted by the absolute lack of communication on the part of the hotel management, and the very out-of-date, poorly composed website. We depended mainly on the website for the information we needed to settle our travel plans, along with some info gleaned from Belgium travel guides. We were surprised to find, upon arrival at Het Anker, that contrary to the website information, we would be charged E15 per day for parking, 'down the street'. That was our first of many surprises attendant to our brief one-night visit in mid-June 2023. The second was that the 'coffeemaker' in the room was nothing more than a 'hot pot' contraption to boil water in, and the 'coffee' was simply a few packets of some instant concoction. On top of that, there was no cream or sugar in the room, and my multiple requests to the front desk (BTW, there is no room phone, you must physically walk to the desk...) to provide some extra coffee and condiments went completely ignored. Based upon the website information available at the time we booked, there were no brewery tours being offered (likely no site update since Covid?), however, upon our arrival, we noticed that tours were in fact being offered, just none available during out stay! Of course now it appears at least that portion of the website has been updated. In general, the rooms are small, and there is no A/C. The restaurant is nothing special, and we were very surprised to find that the fries they served with our fish and chips were not true Belgian-style fries, they were simply the frozen variety commonly found in the U.S. and other countries! What a disappointment! I would have to say, unless you are truly desirous of a 'stay-at-an-old-Belgian-brewery' experience, and are willing to forego many of the standard creature comforts associated with a hotel in this price range, you can likely do far better in the Mechelen area!

We stayed 1 night on Saturday to Sunday. The location is very good, pal in the centre near the Rombouts tower. The interior didn't talk to us immediately but the reception was warm. The room was clean, but the TV didn't work, there were no coffee/tea facilities and the coats (only 1 per person) did not make much of it, which caused us to have not sleeped well. In addition, you could hear the noise from outside and from other rooms/passports well. We also had trouble with the smell hind from a restaurant nearby. The breakfast with view to the tower fell in the taste, it is a limited buffet with fresh products, but not very extensive but certainly sufficient and with enough stocks that were supplemented in time. Checkout wasn't due to no presence, it's strange to leave.

The boss is very enthusiastic, and the English is very standard. He gave us a very detailed introduction, including the city's attractions! Also helped us carry our luggage! The room is very cozy! Come here next time!

NH Mechelen is a nice, warm hotel with welcoming staff. We enjoyed our stay there. It is also quite central. There is also a parking there. It costs 15 euros per night. I did not check whether there are cheaper parking places. The city of Mechelen is nice to see. It is quite authentic and real.
