GGuest UserOne word to describe Bluewater Sumilon Island would be PARADISE! We were greeted by a mild-mannered receptionist (if i remember it right, Kevin) before we hopped on the boat. Sit on the first row, if you wish to enjoy the water splashes. We didn't mind as we were still wearing our swimmers from our whaleshark experience. We got there about 1pm, the room was ready about 3pm, but no trouble, because we enjoyed alone time in the infinity pool, took a nap on the daybeds, enjoyed a ”must order” halo halo on a buko, and fruit smoothies! What makes this place awesome is the staff, from the pool guy who picks up every leaf falling on the water, to the porters who helped our bags, to the friendly people at the reception and the dining area, even the nice ladies at the Amuma lounge. William's smile and attentive service is really heart warming. I'm not surprised why he's popular! Security is spot on! My husband flew a drone in front of our room and was told off 10 seconds later, which we are ok to abide. When snorkelling, I highly recommend getting a guide to the marine sanctuary. It's so worth it! It's good that the guides protect the sanctuary. There are only areas where you can snorkel, but plenty of fish, corals and clown fish. We stayed in premier deluxe room, which was very spacious, closest to the sandbar and best spot to watch the sunrise. Buffet dinner and breakfast are really good with plenty of options. Highly recommend, but would stay for more than 1 night next time.
GGuest UserWent to Oslob to swim with the whale sharks. Two families, total 9 pax. Needed a place to stay for the night, so we could start early at the whale place the Next morning. This place is perfect. Small but nice. Clean and easy parking in front. 2 minute walk to the whale place. Supervisor Mr. Ken was super service minded. Arranged so instead of queing at 04:00 in the morning, and wait for 4-5hours, he booked us a swimming at 07:00. Could not be better. Many thanks Mr Ken. Saved us some sleep and time in que. Next door is a restaurant. I really recommend Way Shack if you want a good experience of the whale shark swimming.
GGuest UserWe really enjoyed our stay at GT Seaside Inn - the staff were friendly and helpful, room was lovely and spacious with good air conditioning. The staff helped us to book tours locally and these were customisable to the things we wanted to do which was great. The food in the restaurant was tasty and the location was really good for wandering around Oslob, we really enjoyed looking at the old ruins, and we saw some lovely sunsets from the balcony area.
GGuest UserWhile the people working at the 'resort' were really very very nice, the place itself was not. The whole place appears to be in pretty poor condition with minimal anesthetics. Rooms for 1-2 persons are very small (but ok for sleeping) , my room did not have wifi reception (I had to go out to a dining area near the pool to get any signal, so no privacy), the pool was nice and the water clear but the sides were lightly green with algae. That said, there are lots of jeepkos for getting around very cheaply, a nice shopping center relatively close, and you couldn't ask for kinder, nicer, more helpful hosts!
Note: There is no real beach near there, just short narrow areas with a bit of sand and a lot of rocks at the waters edge. The sea is really beautiful and clear, but also lots of rock or coral. Also, most (not quite all) other 'resorts' in the area looked to be in similar condition.
GgenkyleIt’s very strategic. It’s near the Whale shark diving and Sumilon Island. The hotel has heater and airconditioning but no hygiene products like complimentary tissue. There is a bath towel but no floor mats so it was muddy after going to the beach. It’s 2 minutes from the beach but you cannot swim there because of whale sharks. Restaurant is also 2 mins away
AAaronL2286We originally intended to stay here for 2 days but ended up staying for 6 days because this hotel is so relaxing and the staff are super friendly. They will go above and beyond the call of duty to help with anything you need. The breakfast is perfect for me and they have a trustworthy laundry. They will help organise the visit to the whale sharks and it will be cheaper than most of the other places we saw. Bang for buck this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in and i can't recommend it enough. If i could give it 10 stars i would.
GGuest UserWe stayed in this hotel only for one night and for this purpose it was quite suitable, the price/quality ratio is good, it justifies its cost! It is modest and without gloss, in some places it requires refreshment, but everything is clean! Beautiful view directly to the sea, the area is small but well-groomed, a lot of greenery. There is a swimming pool. The location of the bed in the room is somewhat inconvenient - right in front of the entrance. There were no European sockets. I was surprised that no personal hygiene products were included, not even soap.... In the 21st century, this is strange to me. From the hotel to the “town center” it’s 10 minutes by tricycle, to the point where you can swim with sharks for 30-40 minutes by tricycle. Overall the hotel is ok, but not for a long stay.
IIreethaWe paid 20$ per person per night. Understandable for the conditions of the place for the price we paid. But as it was very close to the road, it was so noisy at night as the lorry and buses passing by. Need to have earplugs if you want a good night sleep. For breakfast, either you buy earlier at 7 eleven at other places and not at oslob. Or you can go to whaleshark place to have your breakfast.
