I had an amazing stay at this hostel. All the staff were very forthcoming with all of my questions and even helped me in sending away a package. The public area and the room (including bathroom) were very hygienic and the cleaning lady passed by each morning. There is also enough space for luggages, backpacks etc. The washing and drying machines also worked perfectly. Although i didnt use it, but technically there is also fridges to buy drinks and go buy instant noodles. Very thought through hostel, i enjoyed it to the fullest :)
(important to note for european visitors to harbin: prepare a charging adaptor, because in harbin mostly the outlet as depicted in the photo are used. But even if u dont have it dont worry! There are powerbank stations available in the hostel!)
Overall a great stay! 🍀

This is my third time to stay in this hostel.
The staff here are very helpful and provide very useful information about places to go and dinning places, etc. Since I made a last minute short trip away the Harbin, the hostel has a flexibility to provide a cancellation of the room without charge.
In general, staff here are very nice and the atmosphere of the hostel is good. You can join their group to get /provide useful travel information. If you have interested to join hostel activities such as short trip, board games, it is welcomed to ask the front line staff too. Collaboration makes things better.
Last but not least, the cat star here is very popular.

The location is very close to the train station, morning market, cable car station and very suitable for staying with small children(got double decker bed), water heater works well, the heater in the room is also quite hot, we stayed at a temperature of -26 and did not feel cold.
The host is also very helpful if you want to buy any necessary items, last minute, she helps to order, can deliver with in one hour.
But this hostel does not write in English outside the hotel. It is very difficult for tourists who do not understand the Chinese language.
Overall very satisfied, initially booked for 3 nights, but extended for another 3 nights. Will repeat again if come back to Harbin next time.

I love the location of this hostel. It was just right across the Zhongyang Street subway stop (Line 2). If you go to the Ice and Snow World Park, that's only three stops away for only, if I remember right, RMB 2. Make sure to read/check the other reviews for photos of the gate that will lead you to the door of this hostel. I arrived in the morning, about 10 a.m., and was welcomed by JP. After sorting out my things, I left my luggage to head to the Ice and Snow World Park where I stayed until 5 p.m.
I took the subway back to Zhongyang Street. I planned on walking from there to Saint Sophia Cathedral but it was too cold for me. I live in Beijing but I am originally from the Philippines so even if I was dressed warm - thermal clothes, hot packs, several layers, downjacket, scarves, beanies, ear muffs - it was still brrrr cold!
I took a Didi car from there to the cathedral and spent about 30 minutes there and then went back to the hostel. There was a social night going on downstairs but I was so beat that day I just decided to rest. I briefly interacted with a lady from Singapore named Megan.
The following day, I walked from the hostel to Hongzhuan Morning Market which is a culture of its own. Come hungry and happy! From there, I took a Didi to go to the No. 6 factory of Harbin Pharmaceutical Group Holding Co. It is dubbed as the ”Louvre of the East” but having visited the Louvre itself, it doesn't really come close. I think the moniker just came from the fact that there are several paintings and art collection in the building and the area outside feels a bit like you're in Europe.
Another Didi ride got me to Lao Daowai or the Chinese Baroque Street then another Didi to Central Street. Don't miss these two as they are filled with worthy buildings and spots to marvel, photograph of or buy trinkets from.
Harbin was the last stop of my northeastern China winter sojourn. Will I come back? Maybe. Will I stay in this hostel? Maybe.
I like the arrangement of the beds in this 16-people dorm for girls but the bathroom is a squat toilet and I don't like that. If I ever stay here again, I will choose the rooms with Western-style toilets.

If you're planning to visit the Harbin Ice and Snow World, remember to purchase spikes at the counter (8 YUAN). It's affordable and can prevent falls and injuries. Unfortunately, I slipped on the ice and badly hurt my ankle. Luckily, there's a nearby hospital, Harbin Shengfeng Hospital, just a 10-15 minute walk away (you can use Google Maps). The doctors there are helpful, but they don't speak English, so bring your passport and use Google Translate if needed.
On a brighter note, I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. They have a large mirror and a hot water station where you can prepare instant noodles. Although they don't have a kitchen, you can easily get utensils and a mug from nearby convenience stores, especially if you're planning to make coffee.
One thing I found really convenient was the international charger ports provided for each bed. Before checking out, remember to strip your bed and leave a note in the lobby to indicate your presence. I left a Malaysian flag as my mark.

It was really great, so good, I can't describe it in words. It was my first time staying in a youth hostel, and it was different from what I imagined. We played games together, sang together, and chatted together. The boss and his wife were especially nice. I couldn't get a taxi home and was about to miss the train, but Brother Nie enthusiastically sent me to the train station, so I managed to catch the train. Thank you very much, I must go again if I have the chance! This is not a youth hostel, it's simply a club with everything you need, everyone must go~

The room is very warm, you can wear short sleeves and eat ice cream in the room, the rest space and public area are very large and spacious, the youth hostel is on a high floor with a wide view, and you can directly see the Songhua River through the large windows in the room. There is a microwave and refrigerator, which are free to use, and shower gel and shampoo are also provided. The place is very clean and the boss cleans it several times a day.
The elevator requires a card and the door requires a password. It is very safe and girls traveling alone don't have to worry about safety issues. The location is good, within walking distance of Sophia Cathedral, Harbin Railway Station, Central Street and Daoli Vegetable Market. There is a subway station nearby, which is very convenient. Harbin's largest wholesale market is just downstairs.
I don't know where to go during the Spring Festival holiday, I chose Fuyuan, the easternmost part of the motherland. I plan to live in a youth traveler when I travel alone. This is better for carpooling. I saw a few youth travels on Trip.com , and I went to Xiaohongshu to read the evaluations of each. It seems that I still feel that the road to the East Youth Hostel is more reliable. After I came, I found that this choice was really correct. The boss gave the itinerary guide before check-in. The carpooling price is various, which eliminates the time to see the guide. Accommodation is still relatively clean.
In the two half-day itinerary, the most pleasant trip is to take us to the scenic spot. The master is very good. He is also a tour guide along the way to explain to us various historical allusions in Fuyuan, and accompany us to take pictures for us (a little suggestion, The single master can learn more about the special photo shape with customers during the follow-up journey, especially some girls who take great pictures), and the people are very real. If he doesn’t know something, he just says that he doesn’t understand it. He will go to study and study later. Unlike some drivers who don’t understand the passengers, they fool them, so I think the single master is very good. 2 cars follow our car along the way. When we arrive at the place, the other two cars also get off and come with us to listen to the single master introduce the history of the attractions. This path really benefits.
So if there are friends to Fuyuan, I recommend all the way to the East Youth Hostel. Of course, I recommend the single master. Of course, if you want to follow the single master's car, you must try to live all the way to the East Youth Hostel, because he is a full-time driver of the Youth Hostel.

Youth hostels are a very new experience, and it is also an experience that surprised me. Before checking in, I was worried that the environment inside would be very bad and the people inside would be indifferent, so I only dared to book two nights. But after checking in, the environment is really good and the people are quite enthusiastic. As a Hong Konger, I am always afraid of being ripped off when I come to the mainland, but here not only will they not rip you off, they will also help you when you need help, invite you to play together, watch the sunrise together, chat and sing with you when they are bored, and I really experience what people are the most beautiful scenery. Basically, staying in a youth hostel is already a part of traveling, it is really a good experience. I suggest that everyone must experience it once. This feeling is really something you don’t know until you stay there.
In addition, the hygiene is also very good. Every time someone checks out, there will be a very nice uncle to clean the room. The mattresses are very clean. The toilet and bathroom are shared, but they are locked tightly and there are no gaps, so the privacy is maximized.
The brothers and sisters who check in last should make sure which room they are staying in. The 8-person room is relatively open. If you want privacy, choose the 6-person room or the 4-person room, which are independent rooms with independent doors that can be closed.
You really don't need to worry about checking in. The proprietress will be very considerate to you as soon as you enter. Just go to her if you have any problems.

I will continue to patronize next time I come to travel. The entire environmental service of the hotel is good. Very good, very close to the place of business trip and stay next time. The room was clean, the breakfast was rich, and I would choose here on a business trip. Satisfied and satisfied.
