Luang Prabang Hostels

I don’t usually write reviews and was very skeptical about this hostel when I booked it since it’s so low cost (I paid USD $15 for 3 nights including taxes). I took a chance on it due to all the prior/raving reviews... so here I am writing one in case you have the same doubt! This is a relatively newly opened hostel and on my arrival, Mr Lai Lee put me in a separate room so I can have some privacy to myself. This is such a nice gesture (tho it’s low travel season in Laos), but he didn’t have to do that... the bed and linens are clean and they assured me there will be no cockroaches as I’m terrified of them lol... I saw none during my entire stay here and they kept the common areas very clean at all times. In the morning, they serve you either western style omelette or Lao noodle soup for breakfast which really makes you think if they charged enough for my hotel stay! This hostel is located near the Phou Si Mountain and everything you need in LP. The local restaurant right across the road is excellent too. In mornings I usually chat with Mr Dao and he shared his experience as a novice monk and some local insights with me... it’s really an experience that I would pay triple or more to get and my stay here has been an awesome one. The hotel's work was too sloppy, booked a bed for a girl's quadruple room one day in advance, and paid a fee. I went to the hotel and said that I didn't have this order, and I didn't check my name or order number carefully. Then I found the order with the help of Ctrip customer service, but there was no I had booked a four-person female dormitory, and took me to the first floor and six people to mix in, I felt that the mess was not very clean, and later introduced me to another house. It is recommended that Ctrip deal with the payment, or the order that cannot be refunded, and ask the hotel to confirm the check-in email, this will not happen. I rarely book foreign hotels in Ctrip, because I can't find an order several times, or wait to find an order slowly. It will take more than an hour to finish after 2 pm, check in. However, Ctrip service is particularly good, and problems can always be dealt with immediately and resolved quickly.

I didn’t make any travel plans, so I went directly to Luang Prabang after reading a vocabulary. When I was picking up my train ticket in Xishuangbanna, I met a girl. She said she booked the Mad Monkey Hotel and said it only cost about 40 yuan. I checked the website and it was more than 80yuan. I went to the waterfall the next day and my phone ran out of battery. When I came back, the price was 117, which was similar to the price of a single room in the hotel, but I didn't change accommodation. Although it is more expensive than any youth hostel I have stayed in before, it feels good, the staff is very welcoming, and it is convenient to eat and drink. I also rented a scooter for two days for $9.27 per day. Once my motorcycle broke down, they replaced it for me. When I left, the hotel owner called a car for me and we went to the airport . Thanks to the boss and staff for letting me see the passion of the Laotian people.

The accommodation is clean and located in the center of Luang Prabang. Additionally, Zikwin is friendly and can communicate in English and Chinese. In addition, you can purchase tickets for trips to Kuang Si Falls in Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng at this accommodation.
