RELAXFUL HOTEL

I personally visit Luang Prabang about 30 times a year for work. This time, I just wanted to relax with my family, so I picked a random hotel I hadn't stayed at before from Trip.com. Anyway, we had a good two-day break. Everyone has different standards regarding personal hygiene, dining, location, etc., so I'll skip those details. Firstly, it seems like the free pick-up and drop-off service from the train station is no longer available. Also, it's not $15 per vehicle, but $15 per person. In my case, I just arranged my own transport from the station. Even if you haggle, a taxi to the city center should cost a maximum of 300,000 kip per vehicle, so those reading this can decide for themselves. However, the hotel's free shuttle service was very convenient. I'm not sure if it's because there aren't many guests yet, but instead of fixed departure and pick-up times, it was like a regular taxi, available for departure and pick-up anytime. So, we made good use of it once a day in the evening to go to the night market.

The location is excellent, the environment is nice, and the service is good. However, the room is a bit small. For someone used to the large bathrooms in China, it definitely felt inconvenient. But then again, maybe Laos's overall hotel facilities just can't compare to China's; I haven't compared it to other hotels here. The hotel can help arrange morning alms-giving activities; we had 6 people participate in alms-giving right outside the hotel in the morning. It's very quiet and not noisy. We also asked the hotel to arrange our trip to Kuang Si Falls; a private car was around 300-something, which was quite affordable. They have free bicycles, and we rode them to 7-Eleven to buy things.

The room exceeded my expectations – living amidst the rice paddies was incredibly relaxing. The decor was beautiful, comfortable, and had a fresh, natural vibe that truly allowed for a full rest of body and mind. The shuttle bus to the city center isn't very frequent, so it might not be ideal for those who prefer a lively and convenient location. Mina at the front desk was very efficient and incredibly helpful, and her English was fluent, which was a big plus! The breakfast quality and variety were also great. Highly recommended!

There was a discrepancy between the photos shown online and the actual room facilities. I chose this hotel after comparing it with two or three other properties, and the photos were a major factor in my decision, so this was very disappointing. I requested that the misleading photos be removed. The room change was only within the same category, and even though it was off-season with vacant rooms available, I was still assigned the smallest room. If other rooms in the same category were available, I feel there could have been more consideration. That level of service was disappointing. A silk bathrobe was provided, but personally I prefer cotton. The amenities included a toothbrush, shower cap, cotton swabs, hairdryer, shampoo, soap, and body lotion. There was more than enough complimentary drinking water provided, which was reassuring. There was no minibar, but finding a French press and coffee beans in the room was a small but pleasant surprise. I really wish there had been mosquito coils or insect repellent on the balcony. The breakfast was quite good, but it was exactly the same every day, so I think staying more than three nights would become repetitive. The room furnishings and overall atmosphere were beautiful. It has a unique charm and character that newer architecture simply cannot replicate. Bicycles are available free of charge, including both regular bicycles and mountain bikes. I walked to the old town once, and it took about 15 minutes. It’s walkable, but if location is a priority, staying in the old town would be a better choice. Also, unlike many other 4-star or higher hotels, there was no shuttle service to the old town. Since I rented a motorbike, it wasn’t a problem for me, but with the rainy season approaching, this could become inconvenient. I’m glad I stayed once, but I wouldn’t return.

I stayed in a pond-view room, and the overall atmosphere was truly fantastic! The hotel's garden scenery is exceptionally serene. Opening the window, you're greeted with a direct view of the pond and greenery – surrounded by nature, it's tranquil and healing, perfect for photos. Sitting by the window in the morning, enjoying the garden view, was incredibly relaxing. The only slight drawback is that the room's cleanliness details could be improved. Being by the pond with lots of greenery, tiny ants occasionally appeared on the bed, which somewhat affected the experience at night. Overall, the scenery and environment are a huge plus, but I hope the hotel can address the issue of mosquitoes and ants with thorough pest control, otherwise, the experience of staying in a room with such a beautiful view is significantly diminished.

You come to this hotel to stay at the Explorer Tents. They really are a one-of-a-kind accommodation experience. Air-conditioning in the tents is very powerful, so no problem at all. The toilet area is outside but it's the glamping experience. There are two pools, one at the spa which is just magical and one Main infinity pool. There is a sauna at the spa centre, all free for use. There is a so-called beach where you can actually stand at the banks of the Namkhan River. There are other outdoor activities dotted around. The breakfast options are small but should be enough to satisfy. The location is very secluded, so when you do get to the hotel, you won't be coming out to the old Town, despite having free shuttle services. I opted to book a transfer with the hotel to the airport as I didn't want to risk missing my flight, with no LOCA cars willing to enter this area. I stayed at Explorer Tent No. 2

Great location with convenient transportation. The hotel's interior is beautiful and pleasant, featuring typical local architectural style. They offer Chinese-speaking staff, which was very helpful for communication.

The room is pretty good and clean. It has a fresh French style, and it is a boutique B&B. One of the buildings is a garden, and the other one is a newly built building opposite with a swimming pool. The owner is a thin young man. I told him that the leaking wash basin was broken, and he asked if there was any problem. I stayed for 3 nights. The shower head was broken on the second night. I looked at it at first and left. I waited for a while and asked him that it was ok, but it was still broken. He had to come to repair it. He also asked why he said it so late. In fact, it was only 8 o'clock. I had to go out to play during the day. Doesn't everyone take a bath and sleep at night? I gave up. I stayed for 3 nights. The leaking wash basin on the third night had not been replaced. I can replace any parts of this thing in 1 minute. The shower was barely okay, but the water flow was quite small. If you want to take a hot bath, forget it. This young boss is also a monk who does not work for a day. It is about 1.1 kilometers away from the Foreigner Street. In short, it is a B&B that cannot be criticized.

The breakfast selection was plentiful and better than many chain hotels in China. Considering this isn't China and is a tourist area, where I once paid nearly 200 Lao Kip for a small guesthouse with a dilapidated bed in the attic, this hotel was incredibly good value. More importantly, many hotels of similar quality I've stayed in here only offered simple Western-style cold breakfasts, while this one served Chinese food. After talking to the owner, I learned the hotel was recently built, and all the appliances were from China. The most surprising thing was the bathroom floor. When you turn the air conditioning to 21 degrees Celsius in your room, stepping barefoot into the bathroom floor feels warm—you know the feeling of surprise. The hotel helps book shared transportation to and from the train station for 50,000 Lao Kip. There's also a large swimming pool!
