Great spacious rooms, depending on what you book. friendly staff, security 24/7... house keeping everyday.... only issue is the beds aren't big/long enough, but i am 197cm tall. others shorter will have no problem. Also the sinks design needs to be changed or injury /risk assessment checked.. if you're not careful, you can cut or injure your toes. it's metal railings holding up the sink. i had to use wet towels to cover them up after cutting my toenail painfully. the laundry room can be good but some don't work. bring your own washing detergent to top up the automatic dose the machine puts, which isn't enough. dryer is great and fast. gym needs updating but gets the job done. jacuzzi outside barely gets lukewarm.. not hot at all. but lovely views... other than that, absolutely fantastic great place... I will definitely stay again.
I love 5 star hotels and have been to many and this one is one of the best especially the concierge was really helpful and helped me arrange all activities on my trip.
It was a pleasure and breakfast was really good as well…

Had a great time. Id definitely come bsck here. Decent breaky spread including a salad bar, scrambled eggs or omelette. Plus cereals pastries anf fruit.
Room was tidy. Had a safe. Gym was excelldnt. Staff were do lovely too.
Security guys were super helpful. You take a uber everywhere pretty much so this was a great base. Although did walk to shops and few attractions.
Perfect location for sightseeing. Numerous restaurants nearby.
Downside was traffic noise from street.
Enjoyed our stay.
Staff were really helpful and accommodating.
Would return
Basic hotel but very expensive. I wasn’t expecting the room to be that standard, no bathtub, no bathrooes, amenities 3/10.
No swimming pool, but the website is showing that they do have a swimming pool.
Please do not stay here. Also the staff weren’t that
good.
Loved the rooftop restaurant/ bar but their menu is limited.
The hotel is ideally located close to business districts and cultural attractions, within walking distance to many specialty restaurants and shopping centers, and is perfect for visitors who like to explore the city.
The room is fully equipped and well maintained, the intelligent control panel is convenient to operate, and the curtains and lights are controlled by one click; the most surprising thing is the viewing terrace of the room. Sitting on the wicker chair in the afternoon, drinking a cup of coffee, and admiring the clouds and mists of the table mountain in the distance is full of comfort.
First time in SA. I traveled alone. The Tokyo is at the heart of downtown Cape Town. This made most of the awesome places easily accessible- even on foot. I loved my time there, very clean and the staff were prompt to attend any issues I had. Unfortunately it was too cold out for me to enjoy the pool, but it was lovely at the rooftop. The gym was useful too - just that you won’t be setting any weight PRs. All in all I had a great time there.

This hotel is amazing ! Firstly I arrived early before check-in time. The friendly receptionist shared that the hotel offers a free safe luggage room (in the lobby area) , where I stored my luggage then went to explore the town. There are many restaurants/coffee shops and the bo-kaap tourist attraction at a walking distance from the hotel. 5-10 minute drive to the V&A water front. 35+ minutes to wine farms & about 25 minutes to camps bay. The hotel was very clean, safe and they served an amazing breakfast. The lobby/lounge also has charging ports

Staff were fabulous very friendly and happy, breakfast superb . Room very clean it was perfect We had fantastic views of table mountain and Signal hill.
The room is not bad~
People with a large body weight may feel that the bed is not very solid~
Some of the sockets in the room are broken~
The hotel does not provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, and disposable slippers! ! !
Last year's breakfast was the same, but this year it was improved. Although it still cannot satisfy the Chinese stomach, at least there are some changes~
Next time I will still recommend it because the scenery is invincible~~

Great
A lovely hotel and spa. It is very close to the airport and has a shuttle service leaving every 30 minutes. Fine dining restaurant and great breakfast. There is a natural swimming pool, be sure to go for a dip!
We visited the hotel in January 2026. We loved everything, the studio room with a balcony was absolutely top-notch! 🔥 The location is convenient, and there's parking available. The only downside was that the washing machine in our room wasn't working, and we constantly had to ask for access to a laundry room, which was a bit annoying. Also, a rather unpleasant incident was being charged 350 for a stained sheet. This was purely accidental due to unavoidable feminine circumstances...
Excellent location first of all, the room is nice, clean and modern. Washing machine is a bonus and detergent provided. I’ve stayed many times and would recommend ✌️
Disappointing — Not the Taj Experience I Expected I stayed one night at Taj Cape Town and, having stayed, worked, and studied at other Taj properties worldwide, I left feeling that this hotel does not deliver the signature “Taj” experience. Location: Excellent — centrally located and convenient for business and sightseeing. Rooms: Very good. The guest room was well-appointed, comfortable, and met the standard I expect from a five-star property. No complaints on accommodations. Food & Beverage: Below expectations for a Taj. The breakfast buffet was serviceable but average — acceptable for a quick meal, but nothing memorable in terms of variety, presentation, or quality. The on-site Asian restaurant is extremely small (about five tables) and suffers from poor ventilation: the exhaust does not appear to function adequately, so the space quickly fills with an oily cooking smell that lingers and detracts from the dining experience. The food itself was below the quality I would expect from a Taj-branded restaurant. Service & Brand Feel: This is where the hotel most noticeably misses the mark. While staff were professional, the overall atmosphere lacked the warm, polished service and attention to detail that distinguishes other Taj properties I have experienced. It felt more like a standard city hotel operating under the Taj name rather than a hotel delivering the full Taj brand promise. Value: Concerning. The hotel charges approximately INR 2,000 per day for parking — a steep add-on that should be clearly communicated up front and factored into the overall value proposition. Summary: The location and rooms are strong points, but the average breakfast, a small and poorly ventilated Asian restaurant, and an overall absence of the characteristic Taj hospitality leave this property short of expectations. If you are seeking the classic Taj experience, this particular hotel may not meet that standard.
The Westin, Cape Town, is an old hotel, but it continues to maintain its presence, quality, and some high standard in Cape Town. We stayed here for 8 days, during a friend's 60th birthday celebration event in Cape Town. We occupied an executive room and were also given access to the executive club on the 19th floor. The room was very nice, with good linen, bed of high standard. That said, we had to lodge a complaint on the hurried nature of how our room was cleaned on our second day of stay. The bed was not made properly, the carpet floor wasn't clean, and the bathroom was half cleaned. It's not good for a 5-star hotel. After complaining, the housekeeper made amends, and the cleaning standard was raised to the highest standard for the duration of our stay. We also ordered food from room service and half of what we ordered were not brought - they gave us something else, but after waiting for 45 mins for the original order to be brought to us we reluctabtly accepted the wrong order, ate the food and then lodged our complaints later. The breakfast buffet was alright, but there weren't great selections of cold meats in the cold meat section. They really need to improve on this. Lastly, the overall service delivery by some of the staff really need serious improvement. Some of the staff in the restaurant are way too loud when talking to each other, and some of them even give out bad unwelcoming and nonchalant attitude/vibe to their customers. It is like they feel that they're doing us, their clients, a favour by serving us. Not good enough for a hotel of this standard, abd some of those staff need to be retrained. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Westin and we will definitely come back there when next we visit Cape Town.
The hotel is in a very good location. Table Mountain is right in front of you when you look out the window. The restaurant on the first floor has delicious food and live jazz music. It is very convenient to use Uber to go to various attractions.
