The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation. There are many types of restaurants nearby, as well as a bookstore, supermarket, and a fish market. The front desk staff are polite. The room is spacious, and the mattress is comfortable. The lobby environment is quiet.

The hotel is located in the old town, about 900 meters from Bryggen. It doesn't have its own parking, and I was charged over 250 local currency for one night's street parking. Breakfast was just okay.

Overall, I recommend this hotel. 1️⃣ It's only a few minutes' walk to the bus/light rail station, making it very convenient to get to the city center, train station, and airport. Even with luggage, it's not a strenuous walk. 2️⃣ Although it's a bit far from the city center, the convenient transportation makes up for it. You can take the bus or walk. I highly recommend walking to the Bryggen area; it's practically a straight path. The scenery along the way is lovely, and it's safe, so a leisurely stroll isn't tiring at all. 3️⃣ There's a recreational area right downstairs from the hotel, perfect for a walk or relaxation. The main highlight is the breathtaking scenery, making it an excellent spot to enjoy the sunset. 4️⃣ You can get ice buckets from the bar. We went every day to get ice to enjoy drinks in our room. 5️⃣ There's a large park nearby with beautiful lawns and flowers.

We found the Fretheim Hotel very pleasant upon arrival — from the beautiful entryway to the stunning views from our balcony and the delicious breakfast, it certainly makes a great first impression. However, our room was a disappointment. Walking in, it felt outdated and somewhat cheap, which was surprising given the price of 2800 NOK per night. Essentials were lacking: no face washers, tissues, or shampoo were provided (the staff suggested using body wash as a substitute), and we had to specifically request a small bottle of conditioner. The old age of the towels was clearly apparent, and mold was visible on the glass wall at the edge of the bath. Another unusual aspect was room temperature control: it’s managed from the main desk downstairs, and with no phone in the room, we had to go down late at night just to adjust it. We’ve never encountered this before. The bathroom clearly shows its age — dated to the late 1990s — and it contributed to the overall feeling of the room being out of step with the hotel’s otherwise high standard. In summary, while the hotel itself is charming and well-located, the room we stayed in did not meet expectations for the price and could benefit from updates and better in-room amenities.

Hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade after knowing we were travelling for honeymoon! They also provided complimentary champagne and macarons, definitely a nice gesture! Room was very spacious and clean, we love it!

Nice! They got me the highest floor which is great, and special type room, love it! Most of the things u need are provided except slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste. I think most rooms can see the pier view. The first night, some birds, maybe, or someone shooting fireworks at my window making loud noises and I can see some flash lights out the window. Scared die me. Food: free breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was great, dinner ok but love breakfast more. Trip.com says the bottle water are free, but in fact they will be charged. I didn’t notice that and took one, before check out, just saw the pricing list(ｰ ｰ;) Location: a bit tricky to find the ENTRANCE! When u see the building, TUR RIGHT! To the right u can find the real entrance( the front one is no longer in use). very convenient, located at the heart of Bergen, the Bergen museum is next to the hotel. The fifth photo is very close to the hotel. A few minutes walk to the mountain tram station. By the way, u can ask the front desk and get the key for accessing the roof top( third and fourth photo)

This hotel's great advantage is its excellent location; it's convenient for getting everywhere. Their breakfast is really good, though the salmon was a bit salty, so be sure to go easy on it. Right across the street from the hotel entrance is a shopping mall, and just a short walk further is the most elegant area of the entire route, with a five-star lake only a three-minute walk away.

The hotel has a great location, right near the pier. Although the exterior is European-style architecture, the rooms are modern and simple. The rooms are spacious enough to easily accommodate two large suitcases. Room cleaning was very prompt. The restaurant is indeed beautiful, and the breakfast is quite plentiful. The staff are all warm and attentive. Parking was done in the hotel's recommended parking lot for over 47 hours, costing 467 kronor. I don't know about any discounts, just for your reference.

Centrally located, this is an average hotel. It's not that the service is bad, but as a hotel in a tourist city, some practices felt uncomfortable. For example, check-in is at 4 PM, but if you arrive before 4 PM and there are available rooms, the hotel charges an extra fee. However, check-out at 12 PM is strictly enforced. While it's understandable if they state beforehand that a day isn't 24 hours, it's still inconvenient. Another example is the restrooms in the public areas requiring a password. I'm not sure how to evaluate this; on one hand, it's inconvenient, but on the other, it does keep the restrooms very clean through such management. Overall, hotels in Norway generally don't provide slippers or dental kits, so you need to bring your own. This time, only the hotel in Oslo provided slippers, and they were of very poor quality… 😂 The overall feeling is that there are no major problems, but it's an uncomfortable experience.

Excellent hotel right next to the train station. The room was relatively large with a good view. Breakfast was incredibly rich, with even a make-your-own avocado station. The service was also great; when I sprained my ankle, the front desk thoughtfully helped me get a big bag of ice from the bar.
