Very near to Tromso Airport. We arrived on 31.12.2024 night. Our baggage was delayed by more than 1.5 hour. By the time we got out from airport, there was a long queue at the taxi stand. So we decided to walk. Walking ~20 minutes (1.6km).
Upon our arrival, one hour before countdown. The hotel staffs were very busy. One of them came to check us in. She was very friendly and kind. She gave us the room overlooking the sea and airport.
Bus 28 (50m away) straight to the town.
The only downside is the bed and pillow. They are too firm.
Overall we are happy with our stay.
Location is good with safe and bright neighbourhood, will definitely book with Radisson Blue Tromso again if I’m here!!! 💯
Tips: remember to sign up for their membership (it’s free). It allows you to an upgrade or early check-in!!!
Top floor with one of the best views! ❤️🔥
The Vander in Tromsø is a ”digital hotel.” There's no reception and no human contact person. That's not a bad thing. But you have to be aware of the situation. Check-in is either via mobile phone or the CI machine; you can also issue multiple plastic cards. This is definitely recommended. The risk is very low, but if your battery runs out, your phone breaks, etc., it's always better to have a backup. The room was relatively clean, and the furnishings were well-maintained. The Euro-Spar supermarket downstairs offers good shopping, and the Narstrada shopping center is just a few minutes away. Prices are OK by Norwegian standards. The city center can be reached in 5-10 minutes. We visited all the attractions on foot. The bus from the airport cost about €5, while Bolt was €20. Therefore, Bolt is worth considering for groups of three or more (or if your flight is very early/late). I can recommend Skaret by Vander if you're not afraid of online systems.
Me & two of my friends were delight on the Scandic Grand Hotel 3 nights stayed! Hotel breakfast spread was extremely good, we serious enjoyed our breakfast before our trip started daily. Hotel location was assessable while we travel around the city too. Great experience i would said, however hotel should improve on the room make up, we was missed up first 2days…
This hotel, built in 2025, has brand new facilities and a wonderful experience. The room was clean and tidy.
The front desk was attentive and provided a brief overview of the hotel's amenities upon check-in. There's a small rooftop bar and a viewing platform.
The location is right by the bridge, and the area itself isn't very large, making it a convenient walk to the city and easy access to other areas by bus.
As the tallest building in the area, the views are fantastic, and you can even see the Northern Lights from the rooftop viewing platform.
The only drawback was that the room was quite small, so I couldn't unfold two suitcases at once (which is normal for this price point). The closet didn't have room to hang clothes, so I had to hang them behind the TV or behind the mirror. I wonder if these gaps were properly cleaned. There were no paper towels. There were a few electrical outlets in the room.
The price was acceptable, and the extra cost per day was worth it for a better experience. The actual experience exceeded my expectations.
Hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade after knowing that we were travelling for our honeymoon! Room was clean and spacious. Toilet floor was heated, definite plus point!
Location was absolutely perfect. Central to everything and was across the street from my ship. Room was the perfect size for one person. Temperature was too hot in the room and no way to turn it down. Woke up boiling in the middle of the night
Breakfast buffet was awesome! Had dinner one night. Had the hamburger and fries from the menu. Very tasty but I felt the portion size was small given the price. Restaurant staff would not allow me to take my food back to the room.
I would recommend this hotel because of the location and price.
Our best stay for the trip. The room is very big, clean and fully equipped. Good location, walking distance to the ferry terminal and 15 mins by bus to the airport. The bus stop is just the next street of the apartment. Shopping, groceries, eateries are all nearby. Lucky to see the northern light on the first night outside our apartment. Strongly recommend all to stay when you are in Tromso.
The hotel environment is very good, the most impressive thing is that the breakfast is very rich, far exceeding expectations. The only fly in the ointment is that there is no free parking space, but parking nearby is also very convenient.

GGuest UserAn unpretentious but comfortable hotel in an unbeatable location in central Tromso (the third photo is the view from the hotel window). Highlights include the friendly staff (a shout out here to the ever helpful Petter), tasty and healthy breakfast, and comfortable sitting areas that mean you don't have to hang out in your room.
Given the quality of the hotel it is surprising - and highly annoying - that they don't provide kettles in the room (I even offered to pay a deposit), the more frustrating because some photos on the site show coffee machines: so some rooms do have these facilities. The selection of toiletries is also surprisingly meagre - no shower gel for example, which seems unnecessarily cheapskate. My other gripe is that they need more individual tables in the breakfast room: finding a space at a long table feels reminiscent of youth hostelling...
With these shortcomings noted, the hotel can be recommended and is good value for Tromso.
GGuest UserThis hotel is at the waterfront right in the center of town. It offers excellent value! Afternoon tea, buffet dinner, breakfast and free tea/coffee all day are included in the price. There's a sauna on the 5th floor together with a small gym. A jacuzzi is available for a small fee. Bus 42 from the airport stops just behind the hotel so it's less than a min walk to the reception. The staff are friendly. The room is clean and quite spacious. Best value in town! I'll definitely stay here again.

SSAM30Didn’t take any pictures of our actual room, but it was as shown in pictures!
It was easy to spot the hotel. Also conveniently near supermarket, convenience store and petrol stations.
Our room faced the beautiful mountain so it was really nice to wake up to it.
Hotel buffet spread was just right and the whole place felt very homely. Staff were friendly as well!
Would definitely stay here again.
