The hotel's location is excellent! ๐Ÿ‘ The service attitude is great, facilities are complete, and transportation is convenient. Especially, there's a fantastic Malay restaurant (Restoran Nikmat 2) right behind it โ€“ highly recommended! After 11 PM, the hot water supply wasn't quite sufficient, only lukewarm. Also, there was a sewer odor in the bathroom. Hope these minor issues can be improved upon.

I stayed at Unit No. T2-21-10. I love everything about this unit. The strong water pressure, nice seaview, overall cleanliness - beds, pillows, etc, facilities - swimming pool & laundry available on the ground floor and located strategically. Will definitely repeat my stay in this unit.ย

This is a great hotel located near the city center and very convenient for the airport. The facilities are excellent, with everything you need, including a swimming pool and fitness center. It's a good option for a quick overnight stay if you arrive late at night, though the breakfast is just okay. The front desk staff were fairly friendly. The scent in the elevator was a bit odd, though.

Service: The front desk service was great; they spoke a little Chinese and were very patient. I asked for a higher floor, and they gave me the top floor, 21st, which was a hidden gem, a room type you can't book online. Hygiene: Very clean, no strange smells, I was basically very satisfied with my stay. Environment: Very comfortable, I loved staying there. The warm wooden tones make it a hotel I'd consider staying at again. Amenities: The space was incredibly large, with two bathrooms. Both the master bedroom and the living room were spacious, and the balcony had a great view. Perhaps because it was a hidden room type, it even had a stovetop and a range hood. The tea bags were TWG, and there was also a large selection of coffee capsules.

The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach, which is ranked as the third best sunset beach in the world. It's an older hotel with small balconies and a quiet atmosphere. The front desk was able to arrange an early check-in. They speak fluent English, but didn't understand any Chinese. There aren't many food stores nearby, and seafood is quite expensive. It's a convenient 10-kilometer taxi ride to the city center.

I expected a great hotel stay and they delivered. All the staff were lovely. Thank you for that. My only issue is the lack of room information regarding what is available in the hotel. Normally I would expect marketing information and menus for restarunt and bar in the room. The TV does give room service menu but was not required. Fortunately we found Ben, the Concierge in the lobby who very kindly explained what we asked, and provided a map for the area. Very welcome. Thank you very much.

I really loved this hotel! The location is super convenient, the breakfast spread is excellent, and the rooms are spacious. The staff are all very friendly, and the room service quality was good too! A special shout-out to Miss Wong at the buffet restaurant; she's incredibly professional and made us feel so welcome. This is a fantastic choice if you're visiting Kota Kinabalu!

Let's start with the positives: the location is incredibly convenient, within walking distance to various downtown attractions. The price was also reasonable, even during Chinese New Year, and the service was good. We stayed here for one night after an early morning flight, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. The environment is comparable to a budget chain hotel in China, and it can be a bit noisy facing the street. It's also an older version, not the newer 3.0. So, it's a decent option if you're looking for value for money for a temporary one or two-night stay.

MMs JenUpon check-in, the staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I requested twin beds for both rooms, and Mr. Matthew at the reception assisted me with my booking. Initially, both of the rooms was assigned in an area under construction. He informed us that there might be noise coming from the Tanjung Wing. However, we didnโ€™t hear any noise during our stayโ€”maybe because we were always outside enjoying the beach view. ๐Ÿ˜Š He also gave us complimentary breakfast for 2 days. Since we were 5 people, I expected to pay for one personโ€™s breakfast, but he kindly included it for free. On top of that, he arranged an extra bed for one of the room. Matthew was truly accommodating and helpfulโ€”thank you, Matthew! ๐Ÿ‘ The food was delicious (โ€œmasarapโ€), and all the staff were very friendly and nice. I especially enjoyed the sunset. Unfortunately, we werenโ€™t able to try the sunset bar since reservations are required a day in advance, and it starts at 6 PM with a dress code. The amenities were excellentโ€”kids will definitely enjoy them. Everything is conveniently located inside the property, including a movie theater, game area, kidsโ€™ club, and even an ice cream bar. ๐Ÿฆโ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽฌโ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿฅฐ

XXiaolanmaosarahThe hotel was really just so-so, but its location is great. It's only a 10-minute walk to the pier for boat excursions, and there are supermarkets and restaurants all around. However, I really have to complain about the hotel's service. We were two adults and one child, and we brought our own toiletries. We just wanted to ask for one more bath towel, but the hotel refused... Honestly, it's the first time I've encountered such a stingy hotel. I wasn't trying to take it home; it's just that two towels aren't enough for three people to shower. That's easy to understand, right? Seriously, it's speechless...

AAnonymous UserThis hotel was perfect for a completely relaxed trip. I was very satisfied with the room; the balcony was great and offered a good level of privacy. However, my initial idea of stepping right onto the beach didn't pan out. You can see the beach from afar, but that's as close as you get! You actually have to walk through a large area of greenery, so itโ€™s quite a distance from the sand. The only upside is that on a day like this, you can sit outside all day without getting any sun, which was very comfortable. Itโ€™s absolutely ideal for just lying back and looking at your phone. Truly a perfect spot for men who just want to chill out. The Ocean Wing family room would be better for families with two children. For us, with just one child, it felt a bit wasteful as the top bunk was empty, haha. The Garden Wing pool is livelier and also a good spot for watching the sunset. If you like a more vibrant atmosphere, stay there. If you prefer quiet, choose the other side. Our family room, 1802, was actually about the same distance from the Garden Wing lobby as it was from the Ocean Wing front desk. Walking through the connecting corridor was fine, and it wasn't hot. At night, the path with the lawn lights was also very close. The so-called Ocean Wing is actually quite quiet, and the rooms have a large outdoor resting area. As for value for money, thatโ€™s up to you to decide. The ground floor of the Garden Wing only has two small outdoor stools and gets more sun. The room itself was quite cool, with strong air conditioning. I recommend wearing long sleeves when going to the restaurant for meals โ€“ definitely long sleeves! For dining, Iโ€™d suggest the Garden Wing buffet restaurant; they have more variety. Regarding booking activities, I recommend emailing the hotel in advance to confirm your booking number and the activities you want to do. Otherwise, don't expect to be able to book activities like the night animal viewing on the spot. There are only slots for 10 people per day, and usually, three families are enough to fill them. So, I couldn't book anything during my two-day stay, which was very disappointing. One friendly aspect might be for children who need childcare. Upon check-in, they give you a daily activity list in both English and Chinese, and children can be supervised. Daily drinks and food are replenished. You can actually order Grab food delivery, but there's an extra 10 RM delivery fee. Itโ€™s really far, over ten kilometers! So remote... Thereโ€™s a restaurant nearby called Dongfang Tea Restaurant; you can search for it on Dazhong Dianping. Add the owner's phone number on WeChat, and he'll come pick you up! It can save you a lot; it's about 90 RMB per person. The hotel's buffet dinner isn't great, not as good as the breakfast buffet. That's what people who tried it said; I didn't, haha. Breakfast lasts from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, and I usually went around 9:30 or 10:00 AM and stayed until after 10:30 AM. The shuttle bus schedule is also very useful in my pictures. For check-out, I left around 12:30 PM, and the front desk told me to be in the lobby 15 minutes early for the bus. The drop-off time is excellent, taking you to Imago Shopping Mall. However, they can't drop you off at the airport directly; there are only two airport shuttles, one in the morning and one in the evening. Finally, here's a tip: there's a QR code in the lobby to register as a Shangri-La member. Just scan it and register your membership number to receive a complimentary four-piece travel size shower gel set. There's also Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk (see picture). You can ask for her if needed. Summary: For older children, swimming before sunset is perfect, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, watching the sunset all the way โ€“ itโ€™s stunning. Cons: Far from the city, and activities are difficult to book. Food: They have all the usual stuff, so it's just okay. Overall, it's a hotel very suitable for a completely relaxed and laid-back stay.

HHefeng05This is my second stay at the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, and the experience was excellent once again! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ“ The location is absolutely perfect, right in the city center. It's a 5-10 minute walk to shopping malls and duty-free shops, and even closer to Durian Street and Gaya Street, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and exploring. In the evenings, it's lovely to stroll to the night market or the seafront. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ I highly recommend the high-floor sea-view rooms. The views are unbeatable ๐ŸŒŠ, and watching the sunset is breathtaking! The rooms are spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable, and it's perfect for family trips. They even offer a complimentary extra bed, which is a thoughtful touch. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ The breakfast deserves special praise! There's a wide variety of dishes, and the freshly cooked noodles and rice vermicelli have different toppings each day โ€“ the beef and tendons are incredibly flavorful ๐Ÿ˜‹. The Teh Tarik (pulled tea) is rich and aromatic, and the croissants are thin and crispy, unlike any I've had in China! The Chinese-speaking staff even help prepare the Teh Tarik, providing friendly and attentive service. ๐Ÿ’ The staff are always smiling, proactive, and enthusiastic. Communication in Chinese is largely seamless, making you feel right at home.

CCharleenLThis is our second time staying in 2 months. We had an upgraded room for our booking this time. Absolutely love the big room. Itโ€™s a one room studio with all the amenities. Only downside is the pillows are too big and hard for sleeping. Requested to change, and they managed to get a thinner one. Not perfect but better. Hope the management of this hotel look into the pillows provided. All of our friends had the same complaints about the pillow.

LLuosifenxiaojieI usually don't write reviews, but this time I have to praise the Kota Kinabalu Marriott. Even before checking in, I received an email from Adrian who was very attentive to our flight details and special requests, offering great convenience. The room was really nice, though I forgot to take a picture of my favorite vanity mirror and the solid wood sliding door separating the spaces. The room decor felt very high-quality, clean, and comfortable. I'd seen mixed reviews on Xiaohongshu before my stay, but I ended up loving it myself โ€“ it truly exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was from 7-11 AM, so as a late riser, I practically turned it into brunch. Plus, the restaurant view was absolutely stunning, as shown in the picture. Every time we took a taxi back to the hotel, a concierge would quickly come to open the door and greet us, which was a nice touch ๐Ÿ‘. I didn't get to use the gym or the pool ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ, but the rooftop bar had good prices and decent drinks ๐Ÿ‘. #HotelAesthetic #HotelLover Any downsides are pretty objective, but no hotel in Kota Kinabalu can escape the airplane noise โœˆ๏ธ, given how small the city is. For those staying at the Marriott, I'd recommend eating out at Gaya Street (about 10 RMB by taxi) at Chinese restaurants, etc. I wouldn't recommend the night market to the right of the hotel entrance (it's a Malaysian gathering spot).

Xxxmi1. Check in = after booking was made, the front desk contacted me to give about the instructions to checkin which is self checkin (love it and time saver). Asked for depo RM200, fill in form about self information & identification card. Received a permission to checkin early as 2pm as their treat where it usually checkin at 3pm. (Love it once again). You can park at level 1,2,3 where the rates is RM1 per hour. If you use the main lift press M to go to the level 1 park and if you use the residence lift (only one lift at the corner of the building) please press 1. Idk why there is a difference hehe. 2. It is a quiet residence yet spacious for small family like us with a toddler since the bedroom is fit for us. Got small balcony but only get partially sea view the rest view is just buildings. Bathroom also functions really well where the water flow is nice and strong with heater. Internet also fast & got smart tv to use. Microwave available and refrigerator as well. 3. Host is really helpful and use a very understandable instruction. They also make sure for you to check out as told which is before 11am. After checking out, required to send picture and fill bank details form for refundable which they said to be returned between 5-7 business days(wish this period is shortened since depo should be returned as fast as after check the room condition and checking out). 4. Got stalls that sells food and beverages but limited as the menu is simple such as bbq chicken, bakso and other. Also, Orange convenience store. Got laundry also there. Lastly, i feel comfortable staying here and the sleep i got is just goood. Will consider staying again here & thank you very much ๐Ÿ˜
