Definitely value for money. Good location with walking distance to Imago shopping mall, Filipino market and famous restaurants nearby. Nice sea view from the room. Cleanliness of the room also above expectation. Breakfast was average but acceptable.

Nice, comfortable stay with friendly staff. Overall, we enjoyed our time here. However, we booked a room for 4 persons, but only 2 travel kits were provided (2 toothbrushes, 1 comb, etc.). We had to call housekeeping to request additional items. After a long journey, we were quite tired and hoped the room would be fully prepared according to the number of guests. It would be much better if a complete set was provided upon check-in. Breakfast was simple but nice, which we appreciated. One downside is the parking fee, which is quite expensive — RM30 per day for front shop parking and RM15 for basement parking. Hopefully, the hotel can look into improving or offering better parking rates for guests.

Worth the price with a strategic location The hotel offers good value for money and is located in a very strategic city-center area, making it easy to get around, with shops and restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing good service throughout the stay. The room is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, the stay was pleasant. However, there is room for improvement in terms of in-room utensils. It would be better if basic items such as spoons and dishwashing liquid were provided for added convenience. Overall, a satisfying stay and would recommend it.

The location is fantastic, very close to Jesselton Point,銘刻旅行社 (Mingke Travel Agency), Gaya Street, and Suria Sabah shopping mall. It's super convenient for shopping and island hopping. The hotel itself is quite new, with a stylish design and layout, attracting a lot of younger guests. Breakfast is excellent – plentiful, exquisite, and high-quality. You can even enjoy it on the outdoor terrace with direct sea views, which is a real bonus. The pool isn't huge; it's a long, narrow shape, but you still get to enjoy the sea view from there. My only minor complaints are that they don't provide complimentary bottled water that you can take out (only glass bottles for in-room use), and the lobby on the first floor is a bit small.

The hotel is clean and hygienic. It's a one-bedroom apartment with a washing machine. It's very convenient for getting around, being close to the pier, so you can sleep in a bit. I was always the last one to be picked up for tours. It also has a balcony.

I had an excellent stay at Ming Garden Hotel & Residences for my recent business trip. The hotel hits the mark on all fronts—the location is strategic for getting around, and the service was incredibly efficient and welcoming. My room was spotless and very comfortable for working. Highly recommended for business travellers looking for a hassle-free experience.

Facilities: Pretty good for a city hotel, very convenient for dining and shopping. Hygiene: The hygiene was excellent on the first day, but I was surprised that over a three-day stay, the room was only cleaned once. I had to request water myself, but they provided it promptly when asked. Also, the in-room safe had no battery and couldn't be used. I informed the hotel on the first day, but it was still broken when I left, so I had to carry my passport with me every day. Environment: The environment is quite nice, with its own swimming pool and clean towels available. Service: The staff were very friendly, always smiling and greeting guests. However, despite informing the front desk about the safe issue and being told it was 'OK,' no one ever came to fix it.

The twin room was quite spacious, and the bathroom was large with both a bathtub and a shower area. The breakfast at the ground-floor restaurant offered fresh fruits, juices, teh tarik, and a wide variety of freshly made breads, pastries, and hot dishes. The second-floor pool overlooks the sea. There were many international guests staying there. Booking a month in advance offered great value for money.

GGuest UserI came here from the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang in Penang, which is a hotel from the 1970s, and it was surprisingly good overall. I actually expected this newer hotel to be much better, but I was genuinely shocked upon check-in. The room facilities were the worst I've stayed in during the past ten years, comparable to a county guesthouse from over two decades ago. I'm speechless. Even if they don't want to spend money on renovations, they could at least replace the electrical outlets and add USB ports. The balcony door lock was broken, the curtains were stained, and the hairdryer was like something from my student days. When people talked on the balcony next door, it sounded like they were right by your head. The shower door in the bathroom didn't close properly, and the toiletries were the lowest tier Shangri-La offers. During Chinese New Year, we paid 5,000 a night for a Kinabalu Wing sea view room (it's usually around 1,800 a night, and I booked it over two months in advance, so I don't know if the agent was ripping us off or if the hotel was just making a fortune). They really treat Chinese tourists as suckers. The service overall was good. A few individuals at the front desk did have a somewhat arrogant attitude, but perhaps that's just their personality or due to the sheer number of guests during the New Year period. Overall, it was decent. The hotel breakfast was quite extensive and tastier than at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Penang and Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. The natural scenery is generally better than Sanya, with many water activities available at reasonable prices. Seafood restaurants in the city are also cheap, just a fifteen-minute taxi ride away. If you're looking for value for money, coming during the off-season might be an option, but this hotel is far from comparable to hotels of the same price in Sanya. If you're looking to just relax at the hotel, I'd advise caution in choosing this place. What I find most baffling is that Ctrip labels this as the number one luxury hotel in Kota Kinabalu. I have no idea how they define luxury, but I was definitely misled.

XXiaolanmaosarahThe hotel was really just so-so, but its location is great. It's only a 10-minute walk to the pier for boat excursions, and there are supermarkets and restaurants all around. However, I really have to complain about the hotel's service. We were two adults and one child, and we brought our own toiletries. We just wanted to ask for one more bath towel, but the hotel refused... Honestly, it's the first time I've encountered such a stingy hotel. I wasn't trying to take it home; it's just that two towels aren't enough for three people to shower. That's easy to understand, right? Seriously, it's speechless...

AAnonymous UserThis hotel was perfect for a completely relaxed trip. I was very satisfied with the room; the balcony was great and offered a good level of privacy. However, my initial idea of stepping right onto the beach didn't pan out. You can see the beach from afar, but that's as close as you get! You actually have to walk through a large area of greenery, so it’s quite a distance from the sand. The only upside is that on a day like this, you can sit outside all day without getting any sun, which was very comfortable. It’s absolutely ideal for just lying back and looking at your phone. Truly a perfect spot for men who just want to chill out. The Ocean Wing family room would be better for families with two children. For us, with just one child, it felt a bit wasteful as the top bunk was empty, haha. The Garden Wing pool is livelier and also a good spot for watching the sunset. If you like a more vibrant atmosphere, stay there. If you prefer quiet, choose the other side. Our family room, 1802, was actually about the same distance from the Garden Wing lobby as it was from the Ocean Wing front desk. Walking through the connecting corridor was fine, and it wasn't hot. At night, the path with the lawn lights was also very close. The so-called Ocean Wing is actually quite quiet, and the rooms have a large outdoor resting area. As for value for money, that’s up to you to decide. The ground floor of the Garden Wing only has two small outdoor stools and gets more sun. The room itself was quite cool, with strong air conditioning. I recommend wearing long sleeves when going to the restaurant for meals – definitely long sleeves! For dining, I’d suggest the Garden Wing buffet restaurant; they have more variety. Regarding booking activities, I recommend emailing the hotel in advance to confirm your booking number and the activities you want to do. Otherwise, don't expect to be able to book activities like the night animal viewing on the spot. There are only slots for 10 people per day, and usually, three families are enough to fill them. So, I couldn't book anything during my two-day stay, which was very disappointing. One friendly aspect might be for children who need childcare. Upon check-in, they give you a daily activity list in both English and Chinese, and children can be supervised. Daily drinks and food are replenished. You can actually order Grab food delivery, but there's an extra 10 RM delivery fee. It’s really far, over ten kilometers! So remote... There’s a restaurant nearby called Dongfang Tea Restaurant; you can search for it on Dazhong Dianping. Add the owner's phone number on WeChat, and he'll come pick you up! It can save you a lot; it's about 90 RMB per person. The hotel's buffet dinner isn't great, not as good as the breakfast buffet. That's what people who tried it said; I didn't, haha. Breakfast lasts from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, and I usually went around 9:30 or 10:00 AM and stayed until after 10:30 AM. The shuttle bus schedule is also very useful in my pictures. For check-out, I left around 12:30 PM, and the front desk told me to be in the lobby 15 minutes early for the bus. The drop-off time is excellent, taking you to Imago Shopping Mall. However, they can't drop you off at the airport directly; there are only two airport shuttles, one in the morning and one in the evening. Finally, here's a tip: there's a QR code in the lobby to register as a Shangri-La member. Just scan it and register your membership number to receive a complimentary four-piece travel size shower gel set. There's also Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk (see picture). You can ask for her if needed. Summary: For older children, swimming before sunset is perfect, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, watching the sunset all the way – it’s stunning. Cons: Far from the city, and activities are difficult to book. Food: They have all the usual stuff, so it's just okay. Overall, it's a hotel very suitable for a completely relaxed and laid-back stay.

HHefeng05This is my second stay at the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, and the experience was excellent once again! 👍 📍 The location is absolutely perfect, right in the city center. It's a 5-10 minute walk to shopping malls and duty-free shops, and even closer to Durian Street and Gaya Street, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and exploring. In the evenings, it's lovely to stroll to the night market or the seafront. 🛏️ I highly recommend the high-floor sea-view rooms. The views are unbeatable 🌊, and watching the sunset is breathtaking! The rooms are spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable, and it's perfect for family trips. They even offer a complimentary extra bed, which is a thoughtful touch. 🍽️ The breakfast deserves special praise! There's a wide variety of dishes, and the freshly cooked noodles and rice vermicelli have different toppings each day – the beef and tendons are incredibly flavorful 😋. The Teh Tarik (pulled tea) is rich and aromatic, and the croissants are thin and crispy, unlike any I've had in China! The Chinese-speaking staff even help prepare the Teh Tarik, providing friendly and attentive service. 💁 The staff are always smiling, proactive, and enthusiastic. Communication in Chinese is largely seamless, making you feel right at home.

GGuest UserEverything was fine. Service, location. Easy access. Free parking. Beautiful sight of room. Except I do feel the size of beds seem smaller than other hotel. Location is nice. Easy to walk around other places. Near KK plaza & walking distance to waterfront & centrepoint sabah. But do smell market at the parking lot. Swimming pool cgood. Got both for adult and kids. I do wish more table & seats provided outside of changing room. Breakfast was worth it. For kids & adults. I would suggest if you could add hot chocolate for drinks as well. Personally I would like to stay at this hotel next time.

ZZhuxiaoqian【Live earnestly, review honestly】 The hotel is very close to the KL Tower. Just up a small hill, there's a free bus stop where you can catch a shuttle bus directly to the base of the tower. Not far from the drop-off point, there's also a rainforest eco-park. It's RM40 for non-locals, which feels a bit pricey. However, it's quite large inside, and you could easily spend an afternoon exploring it. We upgraded to a kids' tent room, and our little one thought it was really cool and unique! I wasn't a huge fan of the Shangri-La's beds and bedding; they weren't as comfortable as Marriott's and felt a bit damp. Other than that, no complaints. It was about 2500 RMB per night, which I just had to accept since it was during Chinese New Year.

DDrôleThe rooms are divided into villa-style and apartment-style. There were just two of us, so we opted for the apartment. The villas come with a private pool, and the back door leads directly to the sea 🌊 (the villa area doesn't have gates or fences, so passersby can walk right in). The apartment has two bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms 🛀, a kitchen, a balcony, and a living room 🛋️. The master bedroom has large floor-to-ceiling windows, perfect for watching the sunrise 🌅, though it was unfortunately raining that day 😢... The soundproofing was terrible; we could feel the vibrations when the neighbors had a party. We happened to be there during their National Day, so the price wasn't cheap either 😶.

Xxxmi1. Check in = after booking was made, the front desk contacted me to give about the instructions to checkin which is self checkin (love it and time saver). Asked for depo RM200, fill in form about self information & identification card. Received a permission to checkin early as 2pm as their treat where it usually checkin at 3pm. (Love it once again). You can park at level 1,2,3 where the rates is RM1 per hour. If you use the main lift press M to go to the level 1 park and if you use the residence lift (only one lift at the corner of the building) please press 1. Idk why there is a difference hehe. 2. It is a quiet residence yet spacious for small family like us with a toddler since the bedroom is fit for us. Got small balcony but only get partially sea view the rest view is just buildings. Bathroom also functions really well where the water flow is nice and strong with heater. Internet also fast & got smart tv to use. Microwave available and refrigerator as well. 3. Host is really helpful and use a very understandable instruction. They also make sure for you to check out as told which is before 11am. After checking out, required to send picture and fill bank details form for refundable which they said to be returned between 5-7 business days(wish this period is shortened since depo should be returned as fast as after check the room condition and checking out). 4. Got stalls that sells food and beverages but limited as the menu is simple such as bbq chicken, bakso and other. Also, Orange convenience store. Got laundry also there. Lastly, i feel comfortable staying here and the sleep i got is just goood. Will consider staying again here & thank you very much 😁
