It’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!

The hotel is a little far from the station, but except this, everything was good and convenient. Front desk staff was very polite and helpful.

Well worth the price! There are signs inside the train terminal guiding to the hotel. The staff are very kind, they allowed me to check out a little late bc I felt ill the morning of my check out and was moving slowly. I didn’t visit the rooftop bar or restaurant to eat, but I went there to see Mt Fuji on a clear day and the staff were kind enough to just let me take photos. Overall- one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan!

This was the hotel I was most looking forward to on this trip, and we stayed for two nights. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. During the summer, it cost over 7,000 yen, including breakfast for two. The room was a bit small (the bath towel was on the bed because there was no other place to put it). It didn't have a balcony, and I regretted not booking a room with one (though it would have been even more expensive). The hotel is good for relaxing, but transportation is truly inconvenient. Especially on the last night, waiting for a taxi from Shimoda Port was maddening. And that evening (Saturday), we couldn't find any restaurants around Shimoda Port that didn't require reservations; most were closed. We almost went hungry! The various paid experiences at the hotel were quite good; we tried sea fishing and night viewing of fireflies, both of which required a taxi to Shimoda Port. The nearby aquarium is also worth a visit. The outdoor pool, which closes at 6 PM, we didn't even get to use. The service at resort hotels is generally good, but at this summer price, it really isn't good value for money. The nearby beach is very small (see last picture). It didn't look suitable for swimming, so although this hotel is close to the sea, it's only good for viewing it, not the kind of resort I imagined where you could stroll on the beach and swim in the sea directly. The path from the hotel to the pool is beautiful, and there are designated times and places for setting off fireworks; thankfully, there were hot springs to help us unwind.

Although the hotel facilities are a bit old, it's very clean. The room is incredibly spacious with an unbeatable view; you open the window and there's the sea. Sleeping at night with the sound of the waves is really charming, but if it's too noisy, you can use earplugs. There's a free public onsen on the rooftop with a front-row sea view, which is absolutely beautiful! They also have private onsen available for an extra charge. The public onsen is well-equipped with hair dryers, cotton swabs, and skincare products. Mineral water isn't provided in the room, but you can buy it from a vending machine. If you need to go to the station, the hotel can arrange a shuttle service, but you need to book in advance. However, walking along the path offers beautiful scenery, and I recommend walking if the weather is good; it's only a 10-minute walk to the station (it's a bit uphill to the station, which can be tiring). There aren't many restaurants nearby, but the ones that are there are quite good. It offers excellent value for money, and I'll definitely come back for a longer stay next time!

The Dazhan Hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Shizutetsu, making dining and getting around incredibly convenient. The view from the room, especially the scenic rooms, is fantastic; Shizuoka is beautiful, and Dazhan is equally stunning. Breakfast is just average, so you don't necessarily need to book it. There are tons of delicious options at the food court on the first floor of Shizutetsu, plus an ochazuke place nearby – too many good things to try! There are also plenty of extra amenities available next to the elevators, as well as a microwave and ice machine.

Fantastic location! The hotel is right off the second floor of the tram station, with direct buses to Mount Fuji and taxis readily available. This is extremely convenient for travelers with a lot of luggage. The room offers great value for money, and it's a short walk to many historical sites (as shown in the picture). Highly recommended. My only regret is bad luck – Mount Fuji was completely hidden by thick clouds during my two-day stay, so I didn't get to see its true beauty.

Stayed here transiting between Tokyo and Nagoya. Made it a pit stop. While location less than ideal, hotel was fantastic and good price. My son loves the comic books available for loan while everything in the hotel was nice and new. Highly recommended for business travellers or travellers transiting.

Close to the train station, although it has a bit of history. But the room is large, comfortable and hygienic. It is well-equipped, and the most outstanding thing is the large window in the room. The scenery is comparable to the sightseeing bay in a big city. You can see the entire Hamamatsu City in the distance. From sunrise to sunset, it is very gorgeous.

This was my first time staying at a hot spring hotel, and choosing Atagawa-kan on my first day in Izu, Japan, was the best decision ever. I booked two nights for just over 800 (yen/yuan) a night, and the service was attentive and detailed. The ocean looked beautiful and serene during the pre-dawn blue hour. The outdoor onsen offered stunning panoramic views of the sea. There's an ice cream shop on the first floor; I highly recommend trying the Japanese yuzu flavor – it's delicious. Next to the hotel, there's a restaurant that's convenient, tasty, and affordable. By 6 PM, it's completely dark, and there are very few people on the streets, making it incredibly peaceful and quiet – perfect for a leisurely stay. Most places here close around 8 PM. I love Izu; visiting during the off-season was a fantastic experience.

XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions. The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families. It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹 In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

GGuest UserWe recently stayed at this charming new hotel conveniently located just a short walk from the heart of the city, and it turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises of our trip. One of the things we appreciated most was the value for money — the room rates were very reasonable, especially considering the location and what was included. If you're driving, parking is no issue at all. There’s a parking area right behind the hotel, and the front desk offers discount coupons to help reduce the cost — a small touch that goes a long way. What made this hotel especially ideal for us was how easy it was to explore the city on foot. From the hotel, we walked to the Musical Instrument Museum and visited several other nearby attractions without needing to move the car. After a half day of exploring, we simply drove about 10 minutes to reach Yamaha Innovation Road, which was another highlight of our trip. While the hotel is on the smaller side, it never felt cramped. In fact, it gave off a cozy, boutique vibe that made our stay feel personal and welcoming. The breakfast was simple but satisfying, and their signature dish — the grilled eel fried rice — was absolutely delicious. It’s a must-try if you’re staying here! The hotel also provides thoughtful amenities, including yukata robes, quality shampoo and soap, and even a humidifier in the room — perfect for keeping the air comfortable during dry seasons. Throughout our stay, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They were attentive, warm, and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was providing local recommendations or helping with parking, their service truly stood out. All in all, this hotel offered a blend of convenience, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. If you're visiting the area and want a peaceful base with easy access to city attractions, excellent service, and that rare feeling of being genuinely welcomed — this is the place. We’d gladly stay here again.

GGuest UserWe managed to book the family suite we had our hearts set on, and the ocean views from the two large windows were absolutely breathtaking. The hotel boasts a charming retro Showa-era ambiance; despite renovations, its historical character shines through everywhere. We only had a chance to visit one of the public baths, and the outdoor bath there offered a truly spectacular view. We also booked a private onsen, where you could enjoy soaking while indulging in ice cream. We had the second dinner seating, so some dishes were already finished. I highly recommend making your own kaisen-don (seafood rice bowl) with ingredients like tuna, trout, and sweet shrimp, and then pouring dashi broth over it to turn it into chazuke. After dinner, you can explore the game corner and KTV, but do note that playing games and karaoke are not free. The hotel itself is quite expansive, so I recommend taking some time to explore all its corners. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment!

MMIKE0720I was here for a business trip. The room was quite spacious, and it's only about a 3-minute walk from the South Exit. They have smoking rooms available, and it offers much better value for money than hotels in Tokyo. I'm very grateful that the hotel helped me resolve an issue with my booking. I'll likely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shizuoka. The only downside is that there aren't many dining options near the South Exit; the North Exit is definitely livelier.

11881736****The service here exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly polite, greeting everyone with a smile and a bow upon entering and leaving. Since I checked in quite early, I had to wait about half an hour for my room, but they proactively offered me complimentary access to the executive lounge for the day as compensation. The facilities are very new, and the breakfast, though leaning Western, was quite rich compared to other hotels in Japan, offering great value for money. The only downside is the somewhat remote location. Although there's a shuttle bus, it only runs once an hour, so if you miss it, you'll need to take a taxi, which costs around 3300 JPY.

GGuest UserLocation is perfect! Room is fine: its not big, but Japan travellers must know this is common and fine. We slept well. Small restaurants by station, minimarkets close by. Beautiful sauna, cold plunge and hot soaking tubs on roof, separate male and female. Perfect, and rare. The exercise room is joke: way too small, treadmill was functional, elliptical machine inoperable. Not going to get in a full workout here, if that is important to you. Price was fair. We did not use the restaurant, but two of our party took their evening meal at he Western-style food restaurant on same floor as the hotel lobby but just across from the hotel doorway. They spoke well of the food and service and it was busy (if you're craving Western food). I would stay here again, not hesitate.

GGuest UserWe had a really great experience at this hotel. There is a shuttle bus near the hotel that takes you to and from the JR Gotemba station and the Gotemba Premium Outlets. The room is really big for a Japanese hotel, and you even have a jacuzzi/hot spring bath in your own room! As for breakfast, it is buffet style with a good selection. The food is also delicious! The best part of all is still the service they provide. At the Fuji Outlet Hot Spring Hotel, they really go out of the way to serve their guests. We had 2 suitcases stored in the hotel when we checked out and went shopping at the outlets. We went back to the hotel to pick up our suitcases at around 19:20 and intended to take a taxi to the JR Gotemba station to catch a train back to Tokyo station. The front desk staff helped us call a taxi but no taxi would take the order because there was a bad traffic jam. It was on 3rd January 2025, a public holiday, and there were many cars heading for the outlets. Upon knowing our dilemma, I think it was the hotel owner, instructed a staff who just got off duty to drive us to the station. He even checked the train schedule for us! They refused to accept when we offered payment for the ride. Overall, the service was superb and I will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. They have front office staff who speaks either fluent English or Chinese. We wish to thank the owner and his staff for such great service and will definitely stay in this hotel again if we were back in Gotemba.

HhupsengjacobHotel CLAD offers an amazing stay with stunning views of Mount Fuji, especially from the rooms and onsen areas. Waking up to such a clear, unobstructed view was truly the highlight of the trip. The hotel is very reasonably priced for the view, quality, space, and experience you get, making it excellent value for money. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, with large windows that really let you enjoy the scenery. The view from lobby is crazy beautiful. It’s also just next to Gotemba premium outlets! The private onsen is a big plus—perfect for relaxing in privacy while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Overall, Hotel CLAD combines great views, comfort, and affordability, and is an excellent choice for a relaxing stay in Gotemba. Highly recommended. I would like to commend Rai for her help with my last minute bus booking to Shinjuku. She was super helpful and patient. Expect great customer service from their staff.
