Great location. Room size is huge. Bed is comfortable. Ventilation along the corridor is a problem as there's persistent food smell but fortunately it does not affect the room. Public bath is ok.
The hotel is right at the entrance of the ski resort and you can Ski in/Out. Guests of the hotel in Figure 3 can get a discount on the ski pass price. Our price for three days was 25,400 yen. There are very few people in the ski resort unless there is heavy snowfall. Very few people. There are several restaurants in the hotel, and you need to make a reservation for dinner in the evening. The taste is good. There are ski lockers on the first floor for free. Friendly advice, try to bring your own shoes and boards. The shoes rented by the ski resort are very loose and the boards are heavy and hard.
The hotel has a hot spring, a snow park, and a shuttle bus to and from Kamikoku ski resort. It's so comfortable to soak in a hot spring after skiing.
There is a shuttle bus for transportation. It's a 45-minute drive from Yuzawa Station. It's a little far, but it's one of the best choices for skiing near Tokyo.
The staff's English is really not good, and the communication is... quite different from Tokyo. Not everyone is friendly, but I like it. Because it's not a tourist attraction, I guess there are not many foreigners who come here to stay.
It's well located next to the conference center. The staff is friendly and efficient. But this hotel lacks some facilities as a five star hotel.
They don't even have a bar, but they have a sake lounge with machines that you can taste different sake.
The hotel has a very nice observation floor on the top with a cafe & souvenir shop that you can see the whole city of Kobe.
It was a good experience in general.
A good-sized hotel, pretty decent. While it's a little dated, it's super convenient for skiing. You can find gear rental right on the ground floor, and the ski slopes are directly behind the hotel. Plus, they offer a dedicated shuttle bus service to the hotel!
We recently stayed at Hotel Okura in Niigata and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking the Shinano River, providing stunning views, especially during sunset. The location is very convenient, with easy access to the JR Niigata Train Station and Niigata Airport, making it a great base for exploring the area.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. We particularly enjoyed the variety of dining options available at the hotel, including a French restaurant and a Japanese restaurant.
The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We appreciated their attentiveness and willingness to assist with any requests we had.
Overall, Hotel Okura Niigata offers a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and excellent service. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Niigata.
Great mid-size Ryokan style hotel in Yuzawa. Very organized and well run. We stayed for 6 nights and got a room with Onsen so we can relax after a long day on the ski slopes.
Food was delicious and high quality. They serve good variety of fishes prepared in different styles and are fresh and flavorful.
Staff are all very friendly and efficient. Special appreciation to the 2 elderly gentlemen at the front door who always greet us with bright smiles despite the cold weather and having to stand outside all day long.
Definitely recommend to couples or families planning to spend some time in Yuzawa.
We enjoyed ourselves tremendously at Naspa. The room was huge and luxurious by Japanese standard, in my opinion. It was clean too!
The breakfast spread was amazing.
It's a ski in n out resort. Decent slopes, sufficient for us to ski for 2 days.
Its very easy to get to the train station to the resort. The stop is few steps to the r
Left from the enterance of the station. Vice versa, The half-hourly shuttle to Echigo Yuzawa station and back made it very convenient for us to grab dinner and snacks at 7-11 or NewsDay.
The Onsen was much needed after each ski day.
We'll be back NASPA!
Excellent location, near several means of transportation. Free tea and coffee service with a nice reading relaxing area. Nice breakfast included. Very friendly staff.
The cabin we stayed with a king bed is very nice. The staff are very welcoming and speak good English too. The onsen is my favorite. As it was off peak, not crowded. The dinner and breakfast top up was very worth it as well. We ate very well and enjoyed the fireplace outside the restaurant afterward. Rem to check out the merchandise and the Snow Peak Museum nearby. I hope to come back again one day.

GGuest UserTravelling with my mom. Had a brilliant stay even though there were super strong winds on that night. There was perfectly delicious restaurants nearby, only 2mins away was ootoya- excellent food and service. The man who was running the hotel reception was so kind and friendly and went to extraordinary lengths to help us with our luggage and shipping to our next hotel. The breakfast was also yummy, simple flavors but wonderfully traditional japanese fare. My mom has some mobility issues too, so we were glad to see the relatively spacious room and wider than normal bath tub. 100% recommended!
One small issue with trip, not the hotel, I would have appreciated a more obvious flag out that the payment made online was a DEPOSIT. The man was quite flustered when I said I paid online already because you have to pay again when you get there then get a refund from trip after checking out. Please be aware of this when you book! But it was my oversight - although trip PLEASE emphasise these things a little more!
GGuest UserVery bad experience, my husband placed his glasses into the ski-googles packing box, then we go out skiing at the morning, when we back after dinner and hot spring at night. we found the packing box is lost in the room. But we surely haven’t brought it out. We asked the staff, the staff help to ask the cleaners, but they just said have seen it. So we lost the glasses mysteriously. And we haven’t found it at last. My husband love this glasses very much and it lost unexpected in the room.
KK三浦We have continued to use it since last year.
The size of the room is similar to that of a typical business hotel, but it is kept clean and the bed is comfortable.
Because location is near interchange, it is convenient to go here and there.

OOlivier - GillesNothing very new to tell since all the previous reviews say it all. The price is too high for the service. The best aspect of this hotel is its closeness to the slopes. The rooms are so-so, the lack of hooks is astounding for ski-oriented accommodation, the beds aren't particularly comfy, the breakfast isn't super good nor well supplied, there's hardly any WiFi reception anywhere, the common spaces are chilly, and let's not talk about the onsen.
The staff do try hard to make a difference, but meaning well doesn't always cut it. I'm still a bit disappointed by being offered no meaningful commercial gesture after agreeing graciously to switch rooms at the manager's request; in retrospect, as I'm writing this review, a ¥700 bottle of wine I didn't ask for made me feel a bit cheap. I ended up offering it to the staff during check-out.
We decided to ignore all the previous comments because we organized our trip late and are usually easy to please. But quite frankly, I don't understand why some issues haven't been fixed yet, even simple ones such as adding WiFi repeaters and adding hooks in the rooms.
GGuest UserThe lady at the counter was so accommodating. Provided everything we needed and was happy to help in any other way. Spoke a little English but used google translate to help. We couldn't use the dining room for dinner, I think that had to be booked in advance. There was only one or two other places open in town at 7.30pm for dinner. So wasn't many options. The room had stains all over the floor, but otherwise the beds were clean, and comfortable being on the harder springy side, and the bathroom was very clean. The onsen was amazing. The room was a good size, and had extra toilets down the hall if we needed them. The Japanese breakfast that was provided was fantastic. We only stayed one night because we were walking the next day just near there otherwise would have stayed in a bigger town, because of the limited outside facilities. But for the price and it was convenient it was good. Would stay again if I had to, but otherwise would go for a bit nicer place.
GGuest UserIn general I like this hot spring hotel which was built on the venue containing 16 houses dated back to the 17th century. The hotel itself, its garden and room all look not bad. However the AC at the boutique shop was broken yesterday and it was super hot to shop there. Not sure if it’s repaired today. An opened brush bag without toothpaste was kept in the bathroom- they expected me to use or what? The service and food can both be better - but do not take it wrong - they are already good - it’s just I have a very high standard in particular when we talk about foods. I like the two free liquor - one sale the other plum wine- provided every evening 17:00-19:30 though. :) The Hotel can organise many experiencing and traveling activities and you need to book online ahead. Free shuttle service between the hotel and ECHIGO YUZAWA STATION is provided and you also need to book in advance - very generous gesture.
