Unfortunately I was not made aware of the rewards scheme the hotel has until the cleaners told me I'd already booked 8 nights by then...
The 1st room offered, well the tv didn't work so we had to move, no help with bags unfortunately....next room was fine no hairdryer so 1 was sent up from reception
The beds & pillows are so comfortable and the breakfast is fantastic the staff were lovely from front of house to the cleaners.
Thankyou for a lovely welcoming stay.
Very nice hotel, room was very spacious and quiet. Very close to the NHS, about a 10 minute walk. Very large lobby with comfortable furniture and plenty of charging options for laptops/mobile phones.
Bar and restaurant very good, breakfast hot and cold dishes were OK.
The location isn't hard to find, but it's not close to the train station; it's still a 15-20 minute walk. Overall, it's basically an overpriced hostel. The front desk staff (a young lady) was alright. I stayed in what they called an 'accessible room,' which was quite large. The desk was tiny and impractical, with no space to put anything. The 'fake window' didn't allow for ventilation, so the air quality was poor. The bathroom was big but not suitable for general use; there was no sink, which was very inconvenient. The shower area had no partition, so whenever you showered, water would flood the entire bathroom. If you didn't block the door with a towel, it would flow into the room! To enter the bathroom afterwards, you'd have to step through water! And because the room had no real window, the humidity couldn't escape. The exhaust fan and light were on the same switch – both on or both off – and the fan was very noisy. However, it might be an option for disabled individuals using wheelchairs, as the entire room is barrier-free at ground level.
Breakfast had very limited options. You could fill up, but it was far below the standard of a normal hotel breakfast, similar to what you'd find at some hostels. The free luggage storage was a plus, but the distance from the station was inconvenient. There's a machine in the lobby for directly calling an Uber, which is nice in case your phone signal is bad. Cleanliness wasn't great; there was dust everywhere, perhaps because there haven't been many guests recently. The bed was okay, a bit soft.
I check the reviews before deciding to stay here. It’s a budget hotel, but parking is easy ( additional cost) and there’s an EV charger available, which was very convenient. It’s only a 10 mins walk to the cinema and there’s are plenty restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Upon arrival I got a very warm welcome from staff and they upgraded the room that was nice it's very clean and looks modern the beds comfy TV works great and WiFi is good very warm room and slept well had the breakfast continental was a good selection staff was very polite then had the full English didn't have the works but was full would definitely stay here again it's in the middle of town and 5 mins walk away from train station so u have everything you need close by
The fabric of the building was a little worn and tired. All staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Didn’t eat in so can’t comment on that. Great variety of food available in the Wool Market, 3 minutes walk away.
Ample parking. Sheffield is a bit misleading it's a 30min drive. It's southbound but only a short drive to turn onto northbound. Reception helpful and friendly 24hr. Free parking, rooms clean and beds comfy. Shower and bath work well. A decent place for a night stopover.
Our Barnsley Central Premier Inn has everything you'd expect, incredibly comfy beds in every room and an onsite Table Table restaurant for a fresh new twist on eating out. Barnsley Town Centre is only a short distance away.

Lovely clean and welcoming hotel with great facilities. There is a spa and pool at the hotel and a restaurant. We ate in the bar area and the food and service was excellent. The receptionist was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.
Robin, on the reception desk, was very professional and friendly and gave me a very warm welcome and a great first impression. The hotel, being directly attached to the Winter Garden, has a great central location and is less than ten minutes by foot to the train station (which is all wheelchair and suitcase accessible). All the breakfast staff were also attentive and helpful even early in the morning.
DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City was exactly what I needed during my business trip. Comfortable, reliable, and quietly kind. From the moment I arrived, the check-in was smooth and welcoming, and that first warm cookie felt like a small but genuine gesture of care after a long journey. The location is convenient, close to the city centre yet peaceful enough to rest. It made moving between meetings and personal time easy, something I truly appreciated. The room was modern, clean, and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the lighting soft, and everything worked perfectly. It was not about luxury, but about thoughtful comfort that helps you recharge. Breakfast offered a good variety and the restaurant had a calm atmosphere that made mornings feel easy. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help without being intrusive. What stood out the most was the consistency. Every part of the stay felt dependable and well cared for. That sense of steadiness made it easy to relax and focus on the purpose of the trip. Thank you DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City for creating a space that feels balanced, peaceful, and genuinely comfortable.
I come from Thailand , The good location good parking , I ‘m enjoy for rest 2 night , it good relationship from reception. Next time i will booking again sure .
SStephen 1Very easy to find with a large car park. Check in was really quick & easy. Room was very clean with plenty of toilet roll, towels & toiletries. Although the place is located right near the M1, I couldn't hear any traffic.
The hotel Wi-Fi wasn’t working so they couldn’t reset the keycards which meant I had a personal escort to my room with the master key every time I had to go back. The room itself was lovely and clean with a decent bed and good pillows, with windows overlooking the city. Breakfast was a great selection of hot and cold food on a buffet. The coffee was quite good too.
The hotel is converted from a local old building, and the bricks are said to be hundreds of years old. It has a typical English country style, and there is a small grove of trees next door for a walk. It is very fresh and natural, making it a good choice for business trips and family vacations.
