The hotel is very good, but the TRIP platform has a very poor check-in experience. We arrived at the hotel tired. The front desk had our reservation information but denied that we had paid in advance. I showed my reservation form and it clearly showed that full payment was prepaid and included breakfast, but the hotel computer showed that no payment had been made. There is no choice but to pay separately to check in. Then I contacted the Trip platform and was told that Trip was booked through a third-party so-called partner. They contacted the local partner and finally the front desk confirmed that we had been charged twice. Trip customer service then called again and said that the hotel front desk did not read the order clearly, and I completely disagree with this explanation. I clearly saw that the hotel's computer showed that our reservation was unpaid. It should be caused by the lack of responsibility of Trip's local partners. In addition, the hotel has no restaurant at all and does not provide breakfast at all. All guests who stay can get a 20% discount coupon to purchase meals and drinks at the fast food restaurant in the service area of the gas station next to it. The meals are very cheap. The accommodation we booked including breakfast was a waste of nearly 200 Hong Kong dollars. (My cashier receipt showed that the unit price of the room was 1178 ZAR, and the so-called breakfast-included price I actually paid was HKD 627).
2023 I visited this hotel with my mom and a few of my siblings. The location is amazing, the hotel rooms are also very clean and spacious with great stuff and it’s a very quiet space because of this past experience I decided to book my mum for two days in winter 2025. My mum has been sick so the doctor advised her to rest and get some sauna and since the hotel claims to have if we thought it be convenient for her to stay. It’s currently winter in South Africa and yet the were no gowns in the room this really upset me because I am not even in South Africa now I have to call for that request while I’m busy. I am truly disappointed at these two points.

Kiara Lodge is a beautiful and peaceful getaway, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. The surroundings are serene, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The lodge is clean and well-maintained, making it a lovely place to unwind.
When we arrived, the TV wasn’t working, but it was fixed by the second night and we only stayed for 2 nights in total. It would have been nice to have a small gesture to make up for the inconvenience, especially as we had an older guest with us who couldn’t do much else. Most activities come at an additional cost, but overall, it’s a wonderful and refreshing escape from the city.
The lodge is amazing! The location is very good it’s right in the middle of the city which makes it easily accessible. The room was clean. I would absolutely recommend it.

TThandizThe hotel is beautiful, it’s located in the CBD close to all amenities. I think it’s rated a 3 star hotel only because of its location, otherwise it would have been fit for a 5 star if it was in the northern suburbs of Bloem. Our stay was lovely, the room was cosy, the staff very friendly. The only thing that was a turn off was the noisy air-con that took forever to warm up the room. The food was also not that good.
OOlya/We used the recommended driver William/Mrudi to come from Johannesburg. Thank you very much, William. We also want to thank Fifi for her sharming smiles.
We stayed more than a week in the lodge. The food was good. There are 3 options for vegetarians in the dinner menu. We enjoyed all of them.
