We stayed at Toyosu-tei. The private open-air bath offered a unique experience: despite it being winter and quite cold, our bodies remained toasty warm in the water, yet the towel on our heads actually froze – quite an experience! The views were beautiful. There's also an excellent yakiniku restaurant conveniently located nearby with delicious food.

Room is very clean and short 7mins walk to integrated Sapporo JR station, subway (Namboku and Toho line) and bus terminal. The hotel also upgraded me to a more comfortable double bed room which is kind of standard for all the places I have travelled. Amenities are always replenished unlike some hotels which don’t provide. Staff are very polite. I don’t know how many times I have bowed in return. Also, although the room is facing JR railway, the sound insulation is very good - no disturbance from train movement. Buffet breakfast is also very good with all kinds of sushi such as blow fish, flat fish, blue crab miso soup, ramen, Mongolian bbq mutton Jingkisukan, and even sparkling wine. I would stay here again if come to Sapporo.

Beautiful hotel with a moor onsen spa and sauna. However it is a 15-min walk from the station and shuttle service is limited. Lots of weddings and royal visit at this resort. Twin Room is spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to M fast food chain next door and Aeon shopping nearby. I would highly recommend it.

Located in Nakajima Park, it's easily accessible directly from New Chitose Airport via the airport shuttle bus, and the return pick-up point is conveniently right across the street from the hotel. The hotel breakfast offers both Japanese and buffet options, and both are delicious. Upon check-in, a bellhop escorted us to our room, helped with our luggage, and explained everything. Luggage storage is available, and for extended stays, our bags were already in the room upon our return. It really feels like you're staying right in Nakajima Park. Highly recommended!

Conveniently located in front of Hakodate Station! You can walk to the morning market, Red Brick Warehouses, Honcho, and the ropeway station. The hotel breakfast is amazing, featuring seafood bowls and Hakodate ramen, plus you can enjoy champagne 🍾 and wine 🍷. The coffee ☕️ from Mirei is a real highlight. In the evenings, head to the rooftop bar for a drink!

Excellent hotel. The rooftop infinity pool, hot spring, terrace bath, sea breeze, and Hakodate night view were incredibly relaxing. I used the baths both in the evening and in the morning. There's a scenic bar lounge that offers coffee. The room had a private washer/dryer and a microwave. The breakfast offered was great value, allowing you to choose a restaurant at the adjacent seafood market. However, I didn't opt for it because I wanted to try catching squid and grilling it, and also having crab shabu-shabu – this morning market is truly the best for seafood. Disposable slippers were provided, which many Japanese hotels don't offer.

The room was spacious, and the East Wing facilities felt quite new. The view from the window in the morning was beautiful. The service was good, though the hot springs were a bit crowded. The outdoor hot spring views were just so-so and not very clear at night. The front desk staff were very attentive; they gave detailed directions, including bus schedules for going to Noboribetsu Station. There was even one staff member who spoke Chinese. The restaurant was decent. The roasted beef was quite tasty, but the duck soba was very average. It wasn't expensive. There's a shop in the hotel selling snacks and local specialties, which was very convenient, and the staff there were excellent. I left my room key at the hot springs, and the staff helped me retrieve it – much appreciated!

Extremely close to Otaru-Chikko Station, directly accessible via a covered walkway. With an Aeon mall right downstairs, it's incredibly convenient for one-stop shopping and dining. The rooms are quite spacious for Japanese standards, and the facilities are very well-maintained. The mountain view rooms also offer pleasant scenery. Service was decent, and it provides excellent value for money.

Location: Right next to the JR Sapporo Station East Exit, with clear directions leading the way. The front desk is on the 1st floor. The hot spring is on the 22nd floor (2150 JPY extra if not included in the room rate), guest rooms start from the 23rd floor, and the breakfast restaurant is on the 35th floor. Facilities: The hot spring offers a 41℃ pool, a 37℃ bubbling pool, a mist sauna, a dry sauna, and spa services that can be booked. After your soak, there's a relaxation lounge nearby with free popsicles (the Hokkaido milk flavor is delicious!). Milk is available from 6 PM. There's no self-service laundry. If you need laundry done, there are bags and a form in the drawer. Fill it out and call the housekeeper for pickup. The multi-functional electronic clock by the bed has two buttons: one for room cleaning and one for 'do not disturb'. Pressing them will light up an indicator outside your door, or you can hang the 'do not disturb' sign from the drawer on the door. Breakfast was decent; I chose the set meal both days. Rice and miso soup are refillable for free.

The hotel is conveniently located just minutes from the JR station. The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options. We particularly enjoyed the spacious and uncrowded rooftop onsen, which was incredibly relaxing. Our room was also very large and spotlessly clean.

AAnonymous UserI love the Courtyard by Marriott Sapporo; it's a peaceful oasis in a lively area, and everything about it was excellent. It's just a 15-minute walk to Tanukikoji shopping street, making the daily round trip a pleasant stroll. The breakfast spread was generous and offered a wide variety of choices. My son is young but quite tall for his age, and he sometimes worries about being questioned about his age; here, they thoughtfully provided children's meal cards. Our suite was incredibly spacious, and having two separate bathrooms was incredibly convenient. The overall decor was also lovely. We consistently opt for eco-friendly practices by not requesting frequent linen changes at hotels worldwide, and here, they even offered afternoon tea and snacks as an extra incentive for doing so.

YYi ShieanFrom the moment we arrived at Mizu no Uta, Tsuruga Resort at Lake Shikotsu, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquil luxury. Valet parking greeted us, and we were swiftly escorted to a path lined with zen music, setting the tone for a stay where every detail exudes serenity. Upon entering the reception, a majestic wooden carving of an owl, a powerful symbol of protection in Ainu culture, watched over us. In a delightful and intimate touch, we were asked to remove our shoes – a gesture that immediately made the resort feel like a sanctuary. Walking barefoot on soft wooden floors in such a refined environment felt like the ultimate indulgence. Live harp music floated through the air as we were led past a live fireplace, its warm flames inviting guests to roast marshmallows, adding a whimsical, yet homely feel to the elegant surroundings. The staff, attentive yet discreet, escorted us to our room via separate lifts, ensuring our luggage was seamlessly handled. Entering the room, we were struck by its sheer spaciousness. A half-sized fridge, thoughtfully included, perfectly stored all our chilled treats from the road trip. But the true star was the view: an uninterrupted panorama of lush greenery, stretching out to meet the serene waters of Lake Shikotsu. The combination of the stunning scenery and the luxurious in-room robe made us feel like chaebols, lounging in opulence and shielded from the cool lakeside breeze. As for the dining, the buffet at Mizu no Uta is nothing short of spectacular. Where many buffets struggle to balance quantity and quality, this resort excels at both. Highlights included a live dessert station and a live pizza-making corner, where thin-crust pizzas, surprisingly better than those from Furano’s famed Cheese Factory, were expertly prepared. The spread also featured an incredible assortment of sashimi – the freshest I encountered during my 1.5-week trip across various hotels. The salmon and mackerel, both raw and uniquely marinated in glass jars, were exceptional. The hot dishes maintained the same elevated standard. A simple tomato-based clam spaghetti was transformed by the quality of ingredients, while even the sautéed kailan was enhanced with the addition of Parma ham. Local produce, such as the fresh broccoli used in the cream-based dishes, lent an unmistakable brightness to each bite. The combination of Japanese and Western cuisine was balanced beautifully, with every plate delivering a sense of thoughtful craftsmanship. Of course, no stay at a lakeside resort would be complete without a visit to the onsen bath. While slightly smaller than the one at Lake Akan, the onsen here is far superior in cleanliness and upkeep. Conveniently, the bath is stocked with towels, so there’s no need to carry your own from the room. The experience is further enhanced by a sauna illuminated with soothing blue light, adding a layer of tranquility to the ritual. The open-air onsen is another highlight. For those who appreciate the purity of nature, the bath even features drinkable Lake Shikotsu water, renowned as one of Japan’s top 100 spring waters. This thoughtful touch, coupled with the stunning views, creates an immersive experience that is equal parts restorative and luxurious.

MM606647****The hotel is conveniently located near Hakodate JR Station, making it easy to reach attractions by bus or tram. They also offer a free shuttle service to Goryokaku and the Red Brick Warehouses. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The room size was decent, and there's a communal water dispenser, plus you can boil water in your room. The onsen (hot spring) bath is quite unique with its yellowish-brown water, and the outdoor bath is excellent. Another highlight is the second-floor common area, which features information about Hakodate's historical sites. It's a great spot for friends to gather for tea or to relax after a hot spring soak. There's even an outdoor heater. Breakfast offers a good selection of seafood, and despite being busy, it was well-organized.

GGuest UserWe travelled by rental car so the location wasn't a problem and not far from Otaru canal and main attractions. The staff's service was superb. The whole hotel is tatami floor. There were small events like Japanese dancing for guests and camping with free snacks. The hotel's garden was nice. I really enjoy staying at the hotel.

GGuest UserWhat a lovely stay to sum up our travel in Hokkaido! We booked a night at this Hotel as our flight was first thing in the morning and it didn’t disappoint! Everything was perfect! The room has a lovely Japanese vibes to it. It is spacious, very clean, the bed was huge and the mattress so comfy. The window overlooks the runway. The personnels’ service was tip top! And the onsen was the icing to the cake. The room provided bath robes, yukatas and lovely pairs of japanese slippers. My girls utilised the gym too! The Airport is lively and has many stores selling all kinds of things including souvenirs and food! It’s just convenient! We just wished every hotel is like this one. Thumbs up Portom!

TTutusThis was the most anticipated part of our entire trip, and it certainly didn't disappoint! #Hotel Location: Excellent. It's right on the hot spring street, and behind it is the pier for lake boat tours (Happy Boardwalk). #Hotel Service: They upgraded us to a large suite for free, and the view was absolutely fantastic. I loved the suite's layout, amenities, and the smart toilet. The outdoor hot spring faces the lake, and the male and female baths rotate at different times, so you can try them all (っ˘ڡ˘ς)♨️ The buffet was also good, and we additionally ordered a red king crab which was delicious. You can book many activities and experiences at the hotel. There's an outdoor shop called Siri on the first floor of the hotel where you can book activities like hiking and lake tours. My friend and I booked the night forest light show at the front desk. The only thing worth complaining about is how ugly the hot spring robes are – absolutely no desire to take photos in them!

GGuest UserThe Windsor Hotel at Toya may boast its status as a premier 5-star luxury destination and its historic role as host of the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit, but our recent stay fell far short of expectations. Despite the grandeur of the location and its breathtaking views, the service quality was surprisingly poor for a hotel of this caliber. English communication was inconsistent and below the standard expected at an international luxury property. Housekeeping was careless—leaving a used cleaning towel on the bed after daily room service, which is simply unacceptable. When I drove to the main entrance to pick up my family, I was abruptly asked to leave immediately, even though only a few cars were present. This lack of hospitality was jarring. Additionally, being charged for extra bottled water—something even 3-star hotels offer complimentary—felt petty and out of touch with luxury norms. The most troubling experience came during checkout. Two of our international credit cards failed to process, and although we successfully paid with a third, the staff’s attitude was unprofessional. We were met with a sour expression and the word “FINALLY” once the transaction went through—an unacceptable remark that left a lasting negative impression. While the hotel’s setting is undeniably beautiful, the overall service and treatment we received did not reflect the standards of a true 5-star experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both staff training and guest relations.

EeasondingHad a lovely stay at this hotel in Sapporo. The room was a decent size and came with a couple of thoughtful touches that made the stay more comfortable. One of the highlights was definitely the view—our room overlooked a beautiful park, and since it was sakura season, we were lucky enough to enjoy the cherry blossoms right from our window. It was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The TV offered a surprisingly wide variety of channels, which was great for unwinding in the evening. Location-wise, the hotel is conveniently close to Nakajimakoen Station, making it easy to get around the city. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay with a perfect mix of convenience, comfort, and seasonal beauty.
