Our stay may have been coloured by the rainy weather because in sunnier times the views from the Leigh Park Hotel would have been even better. The train station to Bath from Bradford upon Avon is very walkable but it is downhill from the hotel (some very steep bits) nearly all the way and after a busy day in Bath we elected to get a taxi back the walk back up that hill would have put a downer on the day (and I normally do 4 mile runs twice a week, so I am pretty fit!) The room we had was really big, as was the bathroom. The shower was really powerful and got warm almost immediately. The staff were really friendly and the the ambience of the hotel was classy. The breakfast area looking out over the grounds was really nice and I'd definitely like to sit there and enjoy a drink on a summer's evening. I managed to charge my electric car with the type 2 charging station. Unfortunately, it only delivered 7 kW so I only managed a small top up. The hotel breakfast was self service but the containers that were holding the food failed to keep it particularly warm. That is something that could be improved. Also the breakfast choice could have been a little wider (e.g. no tomatoes were offered as part of the English Breakfast). Having said that the breakfast tasted good. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would consider visiting again.
What an absolute amazing find. The setting was so beautiful and the room was outstanding and so much nicer than we could have ever imagined. The free standing bath was our favourite, the bed was very comfortable and the settee area was very nice. The staff were very understanding of my sons disability and were very patient and kind. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed and cannot wait to return. Could have easily stayed there for days
The house is beautiful, the environment is beautiful, but it is a bit old. Parking is charged 6 pounds, and the page says it is free, but it is not. The heater is not warm. The window gap is relatively large. There is no special service in terms of service, just check in normally.
The hotel location is good. Quite quick and convenient for checking in the hotel. However, the room was outdated with old carpet. The air condition was very old and so loud.
Great room with 2 roll top baths, big comfy bed, big shower en-suite, this was an upgraded room from the one that I had booked so it was a very nice surprise! Evening meal in the lounge was very good. The breakfast was superb, good quality ingredients and presented really well, the service was attentive and quick! The Spa was clean with good facilities, there were works being done on the outside pool during our stay so this will be a great addition when it is finished. The staff at the front desk were fantastic, Sarah showed us to our room!
I love the little touches!, the refreshment bag given to us for our homeward journey when we checked out as well as all the other touches makes for a very pleasant stay. I wish I could have of stayed longer. I would love to come back.
The service was great. Staff were lovely and helpful.
The room was sufficient but the bathroom sink was cracked.
The breakfast was ok - lacking freshness and not very good quality - appreciate it was free/part of the room cost, but we left it and went elsewhere. The choice of alternate milks was also limited, with just soya available. The fruit juice was watered down in the dispenser - that was also left.
We won't be using Holiday Inn express hotels in the future.
Beautiful and lovely surroundings. A lot to choose from for breakfast.
Most of the staff are nice, but there is one guy who is not that nice very rude the way he talks and answering questions.
There is two glass in the bathroom which is fine but if you request for a glass to drink in the room they will still bring you the same kind of glasses to you. I think they should have different shapes of glass for different purposes.
Also some of their tea cups are too big and is not classy at all.
A very convenient hotel in town, with a good location, close to everything, but there is no elevator, and it is a bit difficult to drag the suitcase upstairs.
This hotel is very pleasant, I like the hotel environment, it is really beautiful, the front desk service is also warm, the breakfast is rich, the bed is very comfortable, all of which makes us feel very good.

GGuest UserA Comfortable Stay with a Few Surprises
As one of Marriottâs brands, I expected a little more, but overall, the hotel delivers the essentials for a pleasant stay. The rooms are very spacious, with two double bedsâperfect for a family holiday. The indoor pool and the gym is a nice touch, though itâs worth noting that external guests can also use it.
Things to keep in mind:
Parking â Thereâs a ÂŁ7.50 per night charge, which feels a bit steep. The website mentions free parking for conference delegates, so it might be worth asking at check-in.
Holding Charge â A ÂŁ50 pre-authorisation is applied to your card. While common in some places, many UK chains no longer do this, so plan ahead if your card balance is tight.
TV Experience â The TV system could use an upgrade. Menu and guide functions werenât available, and picture quality was poorâeven on HD channels.
Room Details â The room was spotless, but we noticed condensation on the windows and a slight odd smell on arrival. Nothing major, but worth mentioning.
Overall:
The hotel offers the comfort and space youâd expect from a reputable brand, but a few detailsâlike parking, the TV system, and the holding chargeâfelt out of step with Marriottâs usual high standards. Still, if youâre looking for a clean, spacious room and good facilities, itâs a solid choice.

GGuest UserOur stay at this hotel left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. While I wouldn't go so far as to say avoid it entirely, I can't recommend it or see myself returning.
The room, advertised as having a king-size bed, disappointingly turned out to be a double. Despite the hotel's emphasis on green choices, the room was unbearably warm upon arrival. We had to open both the windows and the door just to cool it down. This lack of basic comfort seemed counterintuitive to their eco-conscious branding.
Furthermore, small but crucial amenities were absent, such as a hairdryer, and some lights weren't working. The absence of an in-room phone meant there was no easy way to request these missing items, adding to the overall inconvenience.
The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The so-called buffet consisted of a small, albeit pleasant, continental breakfast. However, being asked immediately upon arrival if we'd like to pay an additional ÂŁ10 for a cooked breakfast made the setup feel misleading. At ÂŁ14.50, the continental breakfast alone did not feel like good value.Â
The restaurant also had a notice about a ÂŁ2.50 charge for menu amendments. While I understand the principle of upcharges, this particular policy felt excessive and off-putting.
These issues were compounded by a lack of personal touches that form the foundation of good customer service. No one asked at checkout or during breakfast how our stay had been, a small but impactful gesture that could have mitigated some of our disappointments.
In hindsight, I feel I overpaid by about 20-30% compared to the value I received. Knowing what I do now, I likely wouldn't have chosen this hotel for our stay.
GGuest UserLocation is good. Super service. But the rooms and amenities are too old, need to be repaired and renovated. The bathroom sink countertop has lots of stains.looked too uncomfortable. Coffee bar was not clean at all .
BBells on the roadCar park very busy, but managed to get a space. Pleasant check in experience. Room tired and bathroom needs updated. As we had a accessible room not enough places to put things and ended up leaving them on the floor. Breakfast was fine.
GGuest UserIt was a newly refurbished, lovely hotel, and we were very satisfied with our room and the service. We would love to return, but the duvet cover was torn, the mattress wasnât very comfortable, and the location was a bit far from the station. Overall, though, it was a good experience.

GGuest UserFirst time visitors, would highly recommend to all visiting Salisbury, spotlessly clean, a warm welcome, fluffy towls đ will be staying again!
SShawn_S.I had a pleasant stay at The George Hotel. The location is excellent and very convenient, especially for visiting Stonehenge. The room was clean and comfortable, and the heating with adjustable temperature was a big plus during winter. Breakfast was served on time and was decent. Overall, a good value stay with a great location.
