Hotels With Bar in Canton of Berne, Switzerland

Location wise, nothing much to critique as it’s situated right beside the train station. You can’t get anything more convenient than this. We like the modern design of the room, generally. The only negative point we experienced was the smell. There was a smell (smells like pee) inside the room but surprisingly not the toilet. Toilet actually smells better than the room. Ventilation was poorly managed, I guess. And the staff said there’s nothing they could do about it and to my biggest surprise, the hotel does not have an air freshener at all! Contrary to those reviews saying how good the breakfast is, I find it quite disappointing. Food selection is so limited and the quality wasn’t better or even on par with the typical hotel breakfast standard. Here I would like to commend on a particular staff named Iulia (not sure if I spell it correctly). She is nice, friendly and accommodating. I would like to thank her for her hospitality. Overall, I would probably come back to stay again at Essential for its perfect location.

Good location and nice old hotel. However, not five stars. Tired, cheaply appointed rooms. No air-conditioning - though fan provided. Pleasant looking, stocked bar - never staffed... would have liked a drink. Service -generally ok but a little erratic. Did not really feel like Switzerland.

The room is quite small but there is everything we need. Breakfast is very good. We could leave our baggages after checking out. The only drawback is that the hotel is under construction so that we could hear some noise from construction in our room.

The location of the hotel is really good. Walking out is the dreamy hillside, next to the train station, and walking up there is a small town supermarket and some small shops. It is also very close to the first Shandong cable car. Although it is a hotel that is more than 100 years old, the infrastructure is also super good, with everything it should have, and the breakfast is also very good.

room size is nice, location is great, just a near walk to old town or you can use tram as the station is just in front of hotel. the room is clean and comfortable mini bar is free, though it only has 2 water and 2 sparkling apple juice bed is nice toilet is clean, no bidet as european standard, shower has big water flow, has both rain shower and handheld shower will choose this hotel again if i go to bern

The staff were very kind and the service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious and I was able to spend a comfortable time from early in the morning. They will store your luggage while you are sightseeing. I would like to use this hotel again when I go to Kandersteg.

It’s a great place! The lake view rooms are perfect l, they are huge in size and have a small kitchenette as well. There is complementary breakfast which had some good stuff. It’s 20 mins away from interlaken center but we had a car so it was a good drive. I’d suggest staying here only if you have a car to drive around, otherwise it’s a bit secluded. Would stay here again!

Good hotel! Everything is very close. Freshly renovated, beautiful design, delicious coffee. But you should know that if you take a shower or use the toilet, everything will be heard in the room and you will wake up your partner, since the stall doors do not protect against noise.

Nice mountain view from the room, but the room is not big. The hotel located 10 mins walk from the Grindlewald station and 2 mins walk from the First Bahn to go Grindlewald First. The breakfast is nice but it’s only open at 7am hence it’s quite rush if you have early activity which you have to leave the hotel early e.g to go to Jung frau.

Breakfast is very good, there are many varieties of ham, no fried eggs, boiled eggs, good quality salmon, good scenery, the bathroom is very bright, the decoration is also very good, the toiletries are L'Occitane, the dinner is ordering, the traditional cheese fondue is very Delicious, fried steak, fried beef is also very good, it is very convenient to Shanglang Langfeng
