What a wonderful experience this week for me here.
I was there around Halloween.
They have activities and tour you can join.
I stayed in 10 mixed shared room. It was ok, they have big bed for single person you even have your own personal wardrobe and locker area which is awesome.
There's a super market nearby which sell almost everything you need for your stay. I met a lot of travelers from around the world here , we talked and shared travel experience, culture. It was fun. Overall satisfied. But the Wifi is a bit slow though.
Great location to down town, near good shopping area, great restaurant at the hotel and many other restaurant near by pub street, very nice service with smiling people. Also very clean, neat and comfortable bed .The stuff was very helpful with good recommendations. they provided a lot of tour services.
Amazing stay here! the room was nice which face to the pool and the bed was comfortable and soft. massage available in the room I booked khmer traditional massage which they recommend, the price was cheap and with 20% discount. and I also booked available with tour tuk tuk for small tour only 19$ per tuk tuk, everyone was always smile at me every time I went out or come back to the hotel.
Pros:
+ Good location just 15 mins walk from Pub Street
+ Friendly and helpful staff
+ Comfortable beds and spacious rooms
Cons:
- Shower drain was a bit clogged so water would overflow and make the whole floor wet
- Mosquitoes can enter the room from opening the door, so have to be quick
- Barking dog at the house at the back (not the fault of the hotel)
Overall, for the reasonable price paid, good location and generally comfortable rooms, can't complain.
We had an unforgettable five-night stay at this hotel and couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the most thoughtful, kind, and generous staff who went out of their way to make our trip special. A particular thank you to Naza, who was absolutely exceptional—her warmth and attention to detail truly stood out.
The facilities were amazing, especially the infinity pool, which was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The Moroccan theme throughout the hotel was beautifully done and genuinely made us feel like we were transported to Morocco.
Location-wise, the hotel couldn’t be better. It’s just a short walk from the Old Market and Pub Street, with a laundrette, coffee shop, and pizza restaurant conveniently located right nearby.
We also loved the food and drinks at the hotel, everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. Over the course of our stay, we ordered food and drinks daily, spending a total of just $160 USD, which was incredible value for the quality.
Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so memorable. We’ll definitely be recommending it to our friends and would love to return next year!
We spent a few days at The Embassy Angkor and we’re happy to share our experience.
Location: The hotel is set slightly away from the busy center of Siem Reap, allowing for a peaceful atmosphere, yet it's still close enough to easily reach the city and major attractions like Angkor Wat.
Rooms: We stayed in a suite with a private pool, and it was amazing - spacious, well-designed, with a comfortable bed and pillows.
Service: The staff were genuinely attentive and friendly. They helped arrange transfers and temple tours, and even offered a complimentary tuk-tuk ride to the city center.
Facilities: The resort has a beautiful garden area and a nice pool to relax by after sightseeing.
Breakfast: was varied, offering both Western and Asian options.
Overall atmosphere: The hotel feels like a cozy boutique resort — tastefully designed, quiet.
A couple of small downsides: the water pressure in the shower was weak (but this is more of an issue with the local water system, not the hotel), and we would have liked more variety at breakfast: especially fresh juices, desserts and different types of tea.
But the same, it was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We recommend it to anyone looking for peace, comfort and excellent service in Siem Reap.
I love everything about this hotel.
There’s a restaurant also which serves the best food. There’s a pool and the environment is greenery. The staffs are so nice, they remember your name and always greet whenever they see you. The room is clean and they have everything there. But they don’t have phone in the room so if you want to tell something to the hotel, you can go there or text via WhatsApp. For the water bottle, you can refill as much as you want at reception which is my favorite part. ☺️☺️☺️ And they serve afternoon tea for everyone at the hotel with local snacks. ☺️
I recommend this hotel a lot a lot a lot.
Lovely hotel with spacious and very clean rooms. Staff were very helpful. Location is a little out of town but this was good for us as it meant it was quiet at night. Breakfast was tasty but limited options
This is my second time booking this hotel. It has a very convenient location and the owner is really friendly. She arranged an early check-in for us. And on the day we checked out, she even let us use a separate shower in the evening to freshen up. The pool is decent. The owner's love for lotus flowers really adds a special charm to the place!
Amazing location! Very beautiful hotel. The staff was lovely and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping service was spectacular. The pool area was awesome, and the spa next to the pool was incredible. It is about a 5-10 minute scooter ride from the main area in Siem Reap. The breakfast was super tasty and had quite a few options for both eastern and western cuisine. The wine is a little expensive there, but there’s a convenience store about a 1 minute walk down the street with an ATM as well. The front desk can help you book many adventures, as well as vehicle rentals. Myself and my fiancee really enjoyed this hotel! I would recommend it to anyone!

ССветлана ТихолазNice, cozy, quiet hotel. There is a small swimming pool, a recreation area, a mini bar. There are two sections on the floor, two rooms in each section.
Each section has a recreation area designed for two rooms, a large refrigerator, a cooking area. But there are no utensils for cooking.
The room is large, spacious, the bed is comfortable, high and soft, there is local lighting, which is very convenient.
TTom van de WielAn excellent hotel near the centre of Siem Reap (Pub Street). The staff is super friendly highly professional and generally interested in your day or how the breakfast was for example.
We booked a one hour massage. I‘m really happy about it. The massagers were highly trained and friendly.
We really liked our stay here and we would absolutely come back!
For us, we had only one point of improvement, we really chose this hotel also, because of the gym. But unfortunately the gym is the only thing that does not meet the hotel standard. The equipment is old and many of them don‘t work anymore. The lat pull down missed the safety locks. I would not consider this gym as a place where I wanna gym.
However the gym experience didn‘t downgrade this hotel for me and the hotel was besides that above expectation. We also found the laundry a bit expensive, but the results of the laundry were absolutely excellent.
GGuest UserWe absolutely loved this hotel. It's a short tuk tuk trip from the old market and pub street which has lots of great food and drink. It's also a great haven to use for trips to Ankgor Wat and or fishing/floating villages.
The restaurant in the hotel is excellent, during our 10 days in the hotel we ate there many times (we tried most of the menu). The staff were really friendly and welcoming, especially with our children, they were really well taken care of. The chef is really good, the food is just excellent.
The swimming pool is also really beautiful, we swam most days and a few times even had the entire pool to ourselves.
We stayed in a large family suite, it was huge at 120 square meters. The staff cleaned it everyday, giving us fresh drinking water and towels. We slept very well in this hotel.
Pro tips:
- Ask at reception for a Fire TV stick so that you can watch Netflix on the TV
- You can buy cans of beer and soft drinks at the little shop across the road for 1/5th the price of the minibar
JJoelbastedoAnjali was perfect. Quiet, restful, and beautiful. The pool is always shaded by dense foliage so it seemed like we were in the middle of the jungle. The restaurant was amazing, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange all our tours and activities. We were especially lucky to have Mr. Chhlen drive us around all week in the tuktuk and the van: not only was he kind and knowledgeable, making helpful suggestions for attractions and restaurants we wouldn’t have known about otherwise, but also he was very attentive to our kids and helped keep them safe and entertained when we were out temples and souvenir shops. We highly recommend Anjali and would stay again.
KKSea 14-Star Luxury Hotel for the Backpacker Price of $40/night!
The first thing you notice about Sokha Palace Siem Reap Hotel is just how pretty it is! The architect, painters, decorators and maintenance staff did a fabulous job (see my photos). The second thing you notice is how delicious the huge buffet is – including free espresso drinks. Third, you notice that the rooms are not only nice but that everything works well (aircon, hot water showers, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV with news channels from a half dozen countries like CNN). Fourth, it is in a quiet location less than 15 minutes from Angkor Wat, and only a $2 tuktuk ride to Pub Street or anywhere else in Siem Reap.
But then you notice the best part: the outstanding hotel staff. For example, the Front Desk Manager Phyrun personally helped me when I could not make my room keycard work, and even brought me a bucket of ice. Originally I booked five nights during Chinese New Year with Trip.com discounts for $39/night, but he gave me a free upgrade from a garden view double with king bed to a pool view room. I liked it so much I wanted to extend, but the best I could find online was $41/night garden view, $51 for pool view. I asked Phyrun if I could get the upgrade again if I bought the $41 online, and he said no – but he smiled and said he would give it to me for $40/night the Khmer rate instead (normally $50 for barangs like me)!
The restaurant had other examples of great staff. Some days the restaurant is overflowing with several hundred guests, other days only a few dozen. Yet they maintain the quality and personal touch from the egg and soup station, to the bountiful buffet, to the waiters and waitresses that clear the tables. The Restaurant Manager Somedy and his Assistant Manager Chhaiya keep it all flowing smoothly. Even on the busiest day, waitress Chanthla took the time to show my Khmer friend’s elderly stepmom the way they fold the napkins. Today the espresso machine was not working for a while, so Chhaiya offered to have a waiter drive over to the sister hotel to bring me lattes. I repeatedly declined, but was very impressed by the excellent customer service attitude.
So the real beauty of this French chateau style hotel is its employees, including very efficient housekeeping and grounds staff. I checked out the “5-Star” Sokha Resort on the other side of its convention center, but did not like it half as much (especially for 70% more per night). Normally I would be afraid to write a review of a hotel that I like so much, but with 456 rooms I don’t have to worry about it being full. Do yourself a favor and stay here when in Siem Reap.
MM42471****Let's highlight the first word: **Value for money**.
And the second: **Emotional value**.
**Value for money** means that for its price point, the hotel delivers on everything you'd expect.
**Emotional value** comes from every staff member remembering your name and preferences, offering a truly personalized service experience. What they share in common is a commitment to making you feel well-cared for, whether it's the refreshing cold towels upon every return, the evening cookies, or remembering your preferred coffee flavor at breakfast. Every employee, regardless of their English proficiency or whether they work at the front desk, greets you with a smile, a proactive hello, and a polite 'wai' (hands pressed together), which brightens your entire day.
Here's a small anecdote: We bought something at the front desk for $4.90, and I paid in cash. I thought I gave them a $5 bill. Shortly after returning to my room, the front desk attendant called, saying I had given two $5 bills. I insisted I only gave one and asked them to re-check their accounts. The next day, after we returned from our outing, the same attendant informed me that they had recounted and indeed found two $5 bills, returning the extra $5 to me. This incident left a profound impression and respect for both the hotel and the people of this country.
The hotel can arrange tuk-tuks for you or you can rent a scooter. Since the hotel is tucked away in an alley, there aren't many scooter rental places nearby; you'd have to walk quite a distance. So, I rented one from the hotel front desk. It was a bit pricier than outside options, but it was hassle-free – I could pick it up and return it right at the hotel entrance.
Breakfast was excellent, especially the juice; the watermelon juice was delicious, and the coffee was great too. They even made a flat white with beautiful latte art. The breakfast spread was extensive. We'd eat until we were completely full every morning and then head out, often skipping lunch.
AAnonymous UserI had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I can confidently say this place lives up to its name. From the moment I arrived until my departure, every aspect of my experience exceeded expectations.
Exceptional Hospitality
The standout feature of the hotel is undoubtedly its staff, particularly receptionist Lyma, who deserves special recognition as a true employee of the month. Lyma went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. Her excellent English communication skills made everything seamless, and her genuine warmth and attentiveness to guest needs made me feel truly welcomed. Whether I needed recommendations, assistance with bookings, or just a friendly conversation, Lyma was there with a smile and helpful solutions.
Cleanliness and Comfort
The property maintains impeccable standards of cleanliness throughout. My room was spotless, and the common areas were consistently well-maintained. It's clear that the management takes great pride in providing guests with a hygienic and comfortable environment.
Outstanding Restaurant
The on-site restaurant is a real highlight. The food is absolutely delicious, offering authentic flavors that showcase the best of Cambodian cuisine alongside international options. What impressed me most was the combination of high quality and reasonable prices – you get exceptional value for your money. Whether you're grabbing breakfast before temple tours or enjoying dinner after a long day of exploration, the restaurant delivers consistently tasty meals.
Convenient Motorcycle Rental
For travelers wanting to explore Siem Reap independently, The Calm Oasis offers motorcycle rentals at very competitive prices. This added convenience means you don't need to search elsewhere for transportation, and the rates are among the best I've seen in the area. Having this service available on-site made exploring Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples incredibly easy.
Overall Impression
The Calm Oasis strikes the perfect balance between comfort, affordability, and genuine hospitality. The friendly atmosphere, pristine cleanliness, delicious food, fair pricing, and exceptional staff – especially Lyma – combine to create an experience that I would highly recommend to any traveler visiting Siem Reap. This is the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay and return on your next visit to Cambodia.
Highly recommended for: Solo travelers, couples, and anyone looking for authentic hospitality in a clean, comfortable setting with excellent value.
HHumphrey JrThe hotel was pretty nice for the affordable price. The service was good, both receptionists were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. The location was pretty convenient to visit the city center and night markets. There are a lot of bars and restaurants along the street, we really enjoyed that. Our room was on the first floor so it was a bit noisy in the mornings because other guests came to have breakfast at the lobby which was also on the same floor and a few meters from our room. Despite that, everything was very good.
GGuest UserI must give this hotel a big five-star rating! From the moment I stepped into the lobby until I checked out, the entire experience was absolutely perfect and completely exceeded my expectations.
As soon as I walked in, the front desk staff greeted me warmly with friendly smiles. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and they also patiently informed me about the location of the hotel's facilities as well as recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants, which made me feel very welcome right away.
The room was even more of a pleasant surprise. The overall decor was simple yet elegant, and it was spotlessly clean—there wasn't a speck of dust even in the corners. What impressed me most was the bedding: the mattress was neither too hard nor too soft, and the quilt and pillows were fluffy and soft, with a great skin-friendly feel. As someone who's picky about beds, I actually slept soundly all night long. The bathroom featured a well-designed dry-wet separation layout, with a spacious and tidy vanity. The hot water came quickly and steadily, and the quality of the toiletries was good, making them very comfortable to use.
The breakfast the next day was a delightful surprise too. The dining area was clean and bright, with an extremely rich variety of food. There was a wide selection of Chinese options like porridge and noodles, as well as Western choices such as bread, bacon, and fruits. All the ingredients were fresh, and they were replenished promptly, which could fully satisfy different taste preferences. My child wanted to eat instant noodles every noon, and the hotel restaurant staff kindly helped to make them—such a thoughtful gesture!
This stay experience was truly flawless. I have already recommended the hotel to my friends, and I will definitely choose it again next time I come!
