Steigenberger Achti enjoys a beautiful position right on the Nile River on Luxor’s East Bank — perfect for scenic sunrise/sunset views and relaxing by the water.
It’s about a 15-minute walk (or a short taxi ride) to Luxor Temple and other central sights.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, many with balconies facing the river, though the décor leans slightly dated rather than contemporary. Service is generally warm and attentive, with staff eager to assist with logistics, tours, or simple day-to-day requests. Breakfast is a highlight, with a generous spread enjoyed against a scenic backdrop, while other dining options are convenient if not particularly memorable. While the area outside the hotel can feel busy and a little chaotic, the moment you step inside, the atmosphere shifts to something far more relaxed. Overall, Steigenberger Achti is a solid, dependable choice in Luxor—ideal for travelers who value location, views, and tranquility over ultra-modern luxury.
The hotel's location is excellent; it's just a 10-minute walk to Luxor Temple, making it easy to plan your visits. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and offer an open view. The staff are friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any issues. Overall, it offers great value for money.
We loved this hotel. The staff made it an awesome experience. Everyone that works here was accommodating and helpful. Restaurants had delicious meals and the servers were quite friendly. The room was quiet, with comfortable beds and pillows. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in several years of travel and we’d stay here again for sure. Can’t beat the price!
We absolutely loved our stay here. The location is excellent, with spacious rooms offering a beautiful view of the Nile that makes every moment feel special. The food was delicious and consistently impressive, and the hospitality was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A truly memorable stay in Luxor — highly recommended.
Pyramisa was beautiful.
It was so close to all the sights Luxor and Karnak temple the museums.
The breakfast spread was amazing , I ate very well. Enjoyed the great variety and abundance as well as the omelette station. I enjoyed the fresh baked Egyptian bread.
The restaurants the Italian one the food was delicious and very affordable.
You can walk around the gardens before or after dinner.
The grounds were so beautiful and right next to the Nike I felt very Zen.
It’s right next to the Nile which invigorates the soul. There are no words.
Not to mention the clean ad refreshing pools.
A massive shout out to Nesma who was soo helpful when my credits/ units ran out but I didn’t know pointed me to the Voda phone shop which got me up and running again.
I went to a different hotel but kept on coming back to Pyramisa.

Pros
• The price was affordable.
• The location is excellent, very close to Luxor Temple and the local market.
• The view from the rooftop was great.
• Breakfast was very delicious.
Cons
• The room was not clean.
• There was a lot of hair left in the bathroom.
• The air conditioner was broken and did not blow warm air.
• There was no hair dryer in the room.
• The towels were not clean.
I stayed with my parents, three adults in total. When booking, the page stated the room had two 0.8m beds and could accommodate three people, with an extra bed costing more. However, upon arrival, an extra bed had already been added to the room at no additional charge. It was a proper mattress, not a sofa bed, just a bit lower, and quite comfortable.
The hotel breakfast was mostly cold, except for hot eggs and one type of hot pancake. You could request hot milk, and the staff were very friendly. Personally, even for cold items, I felt the overall variety was too limited. About 70% were different types of bread, 10% different cheeses, and 20% salads, fruits, and other items.
The garden environment was absolutely stunning, but the facilities were a bit old, though still functional. The cleanliness was a bit rough around the edges, typical of some international standards; surfaces seemed clean, but I'd recommend either re-cleaning detailed spots yourself or avoiding touching them. Even the toilet, despite appearing clean in detail, I'd still prefer to use a cover.
We had an issue with a missing item in the room. My English isn't great, and after a difficult phone call for 40 minutes with no resolution, I went to the front desk. The issue was resolved within about 10 minutes there.
Compared to hotels in China, the value for money isn't great. However, for Luxor, it seems even four or five-star hotels are like this, so others would likely be even worse. It's mainly due to local conditions.
The lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. I arrived quite early by train, around 9 AM, and she was incredibly accommodating, offering an early check-in after just a 40-minute wait for the room to be prepared.
The place is very quiet. Getting a taxi to attractions on the East Bank is easy and costs around 50 EGP.
The surroundings are lovely, and you can even watch hot air balloons from the terrace!
This is the perfect place to stay for a perfect trip in Luxor.
The view from the sunbed overlooking the Nile is really beautiful.
The breakfast was basic but sufficient and it was a very peaceful hotel.
It was very close to the Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple and the hotel amenities were great.
I highly recommend this if you want to have a perfect trip in Luxor!
Every service staff is very nice, but it is really not recommended to live in the West Bank. The transportation here is very inconvenient. This homestay is in a desolate village. I was very scared on the way to the taxi. There was nothing around. I wanted to take a taxi to the port to take a boat, but no one took the order. I had to walk out. Many local villagers asked me along the way, but I didn't dare to talk to them. It was obviously different to take a boat to the East Bank. It was also very inconvenient to take a taxi back after the sun set at 5 o'clock. Many drivers were unwilling to cross the bridge and asked for a very high price. It is really not recommended to live in the West Bank. You need to go back very early, but in fact, the Nile River in Luxor is very lively at 11 o'clock at night

HHGWzhixiangzhuowanAlthough it's an older, well-established local hotel with an excellent location, the room facilities are quite dated. The river view is also inconsistent, with some rooms having obstructions. On the positive side, the public garden areas are beautiful, and breakfast times are very accommodating for early risers/busy travelers. Additionally, the dinner buffet offers great value for money.
AAnonymous UserA good place to stay when exploring Luxor, about 10-20mins drive to all main historical sites and situated on the Nile - a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise and set. Very secure hotel with security controlling entry and exit to the island. Reception staff aren’t in a hurry to do their job so don’t expect quick service, attention to detail or timely responses as you might in a 5 star+ hotel. Service staff (as in security, restaurant, maintenance and cleaning) are all lovely.
DD.SriramProperty looks impressive and it's right on the river, close to both Luxor and Karnak Temples, the Museum and even the hot air balloon ride (though we didn't do that). So, full marks for location.
Staff is very helpful, so again, full marks.
After that it's all downhill.
Poorly maintained property, our bathroom door was too swollen to shut properly. Shower water pressure and temperature were very low. The room key would stop working pretty much every time we left the hotel and came back, so we had to keep going to reception to get it recoded. Eventually we took to just going there every time without first going up to our room to check.
Breakfast was a huge spread but very poor quality and not well planned - providing traditional Egyptian dips but no pita, only Western style bread or the very sweet Egyptian pastry.
So, overall, a very average experience. It might be that this is the best option in the area but I don't know that, so I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
Also, and maybe this isn't something they can control, the hotel does not help with calling cabs. You either take your chances and haggle with the crooked cabbies outside or pay a big premium for a short ride to the airport in the hotel's ”luxury” car, which is just a Chery sedan, not a Benz or BMW.

TTravelBHad a really great stay! The hotel is on the West Bank of Luxor which is really beautiful and is nice and quiet. It is close to the Valley of the Kings and also close to the nile which was super convenient. The staff were super friendly and helpful! I forgot my phone charger and one of the staff members let me borrow one from them which I thought was so sweet. The staff were always around to help and were very accommodating. Ate at the hotel restaurant the whole trip and the food was really good. Fahd helped with all of the tours and getting a driver and really went above and beyond to make my trip amazing. The hotel has two pools and the rooftop has beautiful views of the valley and the hot air balloons in the morning. All in all I was very happy with my stay :)
