It’s 8mins drive up from the hotel to the citadel, the cafe overlooks the river so if you could, request for the facing along the river. We didn’t and I kinda regret that. The side facing the road can be a little noisy at night. The bed and shower is good. There is spare pillow which is standard sized. Towels are also provided but the others such as brush and combs do bring one set yourself. There is also no hot water flask. The reception is kind and helpful. The breakfast is amazing with attentive staff and the orange juice is freshly squeezed on the spot by a machine. It was too cold to sit alfresco but I would if the weather is a tad warmer. Parking on-site is limited but there are parking around the area free or charged. Just don’t park into the ****** or you would have trouble getting your car mentioned by the reception. Otherwise, another great restful night in a no frills hotel I would recommend. Thank you.
Mercure HAN Sur Lesse

Selected as a one night stop between Brussels and Frankfurt, it’s such a lovely town! Quintessential small Belgian/French town, so quiet at night and beautiful. Town is busy during day, has a vibrant feel. Hotel is newly refurbished and attractive, much more so than photos suggest. Front desk was kind and helpful, family room was huge, complete with bunk beds, king bed and sitting area with dining table. Plenty of room for our family of 5! The kids enjoyed the pool and the play area in lobby. For an entry level hotel this far exceeded our expectations, it’s not the Ritz but for the price it is pretty darn amazing. If you’re used to luxury hotels you won’t be disappointed and if you’re used to motels this is high class living.
Castel de Pont-a-Lesse

We stayed here for one night and must say we were a bit reluctant having read previous reviews. Luckily there were not any major issues with our stay, but it was still a bit frustrating to see how they threw away such a good potential. To take the positives first, the location is nice and secluded and the room we got at least seemed to be partially updated recent years. There were still some old furniture with stains, but paint and doors seemed new(er). The outside area between the main buildings with a terrace and a grill was also nice. If you wandered a bit further though, that's where you see the decline. What seemed to be a basket & tennis court in addition to a miniature golf course are just left to rot. That's not something that require heavy maintenance to keep in order, so that's just laziness, and something that would have made the hotel much better and catered to families in a whole different way. The water in the indoor swimming pool was also freexing cold, probably another cost saving activity. In addition, when we came to breakfast about 10 minutes before closing, pretty much everything was picked out. When staff came out and took some of the trays I expected them to refill and restock, but instead they just took them away. This left us with very few options and is not acceptable from a serious hotel. If breakfast times are until 10, you should get the same experience no matter if you show up at 8 or 9.50. Again, this is laziness and cost saving, but seems like an implemented routine. All in all, this has the potential to be a great hotel, but that requires willingness from the management. Right now, that doesn't seem to be existing.
Hotel the Royal Snail

Small, intimate, intimate (most dark in the whole) and atypical hotel located on the edge of the water and near the city centre but mitigated. Laughing home. We in love. We choose the Royal package: The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The room was very small but beautiful, little room for rent or to put our things in, bathroom, we would have preferred Italian shower but it is not serious. Despite the climate, we had very warm but well sleeped yet because very quiet. If this room is Deluxe, how is the standard? .... Diner? WAW! very good in a very cozy environment and a very nice and smile room staff. Perfect. Thanks to the boss. Breakfast? For us, a very important moment to start the day. The hotel was very close to the hotel and the hotel was very close to the hotel. What a pity. I'm really sad because the rest is very nice. Privatized wellness space? sympa. A good moment of relaxation Public Parking is just in front of the hotel: Perfect. 2 glasses at the choice are offered at the end of the evening at the bar, beautiful surprise, Thank you very much. The swimming pool? Very beautiful but small and strangely located. For me, just decorative or to climb the feet in the summer. Beautiful discovery but my god , look back to breakfast svp. You will win in customer. We are not asking for thousands of products but some good products. Thanks to all the staff who is ULTRA nice. Mylene and Christophe. Mylene and Christophe.

well located for either the motorway or train station hotel was quiet in the evening room was excellent large and comfortable with a slim lined balcony breakfast would have been good except that a coach party decided to leave with all the pastrys etc and the hotel was not able to replenish them and we were not able to get drinks at 10 in the evening so a night cap was out of the question BUT when in the area again we will book it

Le Chateau de Namur

Fab 2 night stay. Lots of positives. Good sized room, comfortable bed and nice quiet air con. There’s plenty of parking and a cable car down to town running 10am to 6pm in summer. Food was a big plus. Evening menu is 3 course with 3 choices each course and an amuse bouche. We ate here 2 nights and tried 2/3 menu and all excellent. This is a regional hotel school and the young waiters are in training - loved them. On top of all above we thought was great value. Recommended.
