The hotel is extremely clean, all the facilities are new and modern. The lobby is great for relaxing during the day and the bar on top floor is very nice as well. Breakfast didn’t disappoint at all, filter coffee was delicious, so many food options to choose from. We will definitely be back soon.

The hotel is conveniently located on a side street, approximately 8 minutes' walk from Osmanbey metro station. The hotel has a personal and private atmosphere. I was welcomed by friendly staff and given a room on the second floor. The room was modern, clean, and well-equipped for business travellers. The breakfast is quite perfect, and all the restaurant staff are extremely friendly and caring. Thank you for the lovely stay at your hotel.

We were originally very happy with our experience of this hotel but unfortunately on the second to last night of our stay somebody opened our room door and tried to enter at 3:00am in the morning. Luckily we kept our door on chain so they couldn't come in, we shouted at the man and they said they were hotel security. There was no knock, no warning so of course this scared my wife and my daughter and we couldn't get back to sleep again and felt unsafe for the rest of our stay. Hotel staffed explained this was their security checking empty rooms if this is the case then the hotel needs a new or review their system to be 100% sure the rooms are empty before trying to enter. Not sure we can recommend or would want to stay at this hotel again in future.

I stumbled upon this hotel in what they call their 'Asian district,' and for the same quality, hotels across the river would cost a lot more. The public transport options around here are excellent — light rail, buses, ferries, and the subway are all very convenient. It's a great choice, especially since we booked a sea-view room. The ocean view is absolutely stunning; you just want to take pictures every time you look up. It would be perfect if the hotel windows were a bit cleaner, but otherwise, it's wonderful, and there are plenty of dining options nearby too.

The hotel’s location is very strategic, making it convenient for getting around Istanbul. The staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the breakfast is truly excellent with a very good selection.
The only downside during my stay was that the room had an unpleasant smell. I stayed in Room 415, and although I tried running hot water in both the sink and the shower, the odor did not go away.
I hope the management can address this issue, as it would greatly improve the overall experience and help maintain the hotel’s good reputation.

Location & Setting
Zeytinburnu might not be the first name that comes to mind when travelers think of Istanbul, yet this area surprised me. It’s strategically positioned close enough to reach Sultanahmet and Taksim with ease, yet far enough to escape the tourist crowds. The hotel itself feels like an oasis of calm within the city’s heartbeat. Step outside, and you’re minutes from transportation links, local eateries, and the Marmara coastline.
Design & Comfort
The moment you step into your room, you sense Hilton’s signature attention to detail—simple, modern, and purposeful. My room was bright, immaculate, and well-designed for both rest and work. The bed offered the kind of support that makes long travel days melt away, and everything, from lighting to Wi-Fi, worked exactly as it should. Small touches, like perfectly laundered linens and crisp air quality, added a layer of comfort that felt quietly luxurious.
Hospitality That Feels Personal
While the property itself is well-maintained, what truly makes this hotel memorable are the people behind the front desk. Fatih Tuna and Ömer are two names I won’t forget anytime soon. Their professionalism is effortless, and their kindness feels completely natural; no rehearsed smiles, no scripted greetings.
Whether it was assisting with directions, offering local dining suggestions, or simply greeting guests with warmth that instantly puts you at ease, both Fatih and Ömer demonstrated a level of hospitality that’s rare even among top-tier hotels. They are the kind of hosts who remind you that genuine service can transform an ordinary stay into a meaningful experience.
It’s no exaggeration to say that they embody the best of Turkish warmth; courteous, humorous, and always ready to help without ever feeling intrusive.
Breakfast & Shared Spaces
Breakfast each morning felt more like a pleasant ritual than a hotel buffet. The spread was abundant and fresh, featuring local cheeses, eggs, fruit, pastries, and strong Turkish tea that was hard to resist. Staff managed the flow smoothly, keeping everything replenished while maintaining the sense of calm that regular travelers quietly crave.
The public areas, especially the lobby, were clean, cozy, and inviting. Whether grabbing a quick coffee, catching up on emails, or chatting with staff, the space encouraged connection rather than mere transit.
Small Note
The only subtle reminder that you’re still in a lively city comes from occasional distant traffic or early-morning sounds from outside. It’s faint and fleeting, more of a whisper than a disturbance. For light sleepers, a higher floor or a room facing inward may be ideal.
Lasting Impression

AAkif.My first night was a disaster because my room's power supply kept cutting off and they took almost 3 to 4 hours to fix it, due to that I couldn't sleep the whole night and my morning plans got wasted too. I asked the hotel manager Mr.Arda to give me an extra night, (he refused), airport transfer on my checkout date , (he refused) , room upgrade, (he refused) , Then Mr Arda promised us a complimentary dinner at the rooftop restaurant and that was amazing .My initial plan was to stay 3 nights but then I extended it for 2 more nights because of 1 man Mr.Karem at the reception , the nicest guy of the hotel , Mr.Karem and Mr.Arda helped us alot and supported us in every aspect, but sorry to say all the other staff members there had just 1 answer. im sorry we cannot help you we cannot help you , I'll definitely visit again, Thanks to Mr.Arda and Mr.Karem ❤️ and lastly thanks to Mr.Servet who told us about the free shuttle service provided by the hotel which takes us to Taksim .

Yet, my recent stay at the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City genuinely stood out. It’s a property that masterfully combines thoughtful design, polished service, and a location that captures the very essence of Istanbul’s history and rhythm.
An Experience Worth Remembering
Location & Access
Situated in the heart of the city’s historic core, this hotel makes exploration effortless. From here, it’s just a short walk to the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, and several key transport links. The setting feels authentic and lively; ideal for guests who want proximity without sacrificing comfort.
Room 3219 – Exceptional Comfort
The room offered a superb balance of functionality and elegance. It was impeccably clean, featuring plush bedding, perfect lighting for reading or work, and a surprisingly quiet HVAC system, a rarity in city hotels. Small details, like the scent of fresh linen and a spotless bathroom, reinforced the sense of care behind the housekeeping standards.
Service & Staff
The staff are the heartbeat of this property. Every interaction, from check-in to checkout, reflected professionalism anchored in genuine warmth. They anticipated needs before being asked, making the experience feel personal rather than procedural. This consistency across teams’ front desk, dining, and housekeeping speaks volumes about the culture of service within the hotel.
Dining Experience
Breakfast was both indulgent and efficient. The buffet selection was diverse, featuring beautifully presented dishes that catered to both international and local palates. The staff handled the morning rush with grace and precision, maintaining quality and attentiveness without any sense of haste.
Facilities & Ambience
Public areas were spotless and aesthetically cohesive. The fitness and spa areas were well-maintained, creating a serene environment ideal for unwinding after long days in the city. The lounge and lobby were comfortable enough to double as workspaces, a feature that frequent travelers will appreciate.
The One Minor Quirk
I noticed some early-morning noise, mostly the seagulls, a distant metro vibration, and a faint scratchy sound around 6 a.m. While this didn’t detract from the overall stay, it’s worth noting for lighter sleepers. It’s a subtle reminder that even in the most refined settings, Istanbul’s energy has its own morning rhythm.
Final Thoughts
What defines the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City isn’t just its luxury—it’s the consistency of experience. Every aspect feels considered and intentional. Having stayed at countless hotels across Europe, the Middle East, and North America, it’s rare to find one that strikes this balance of local charm and international polish.
I often recommend property to colleagues who travel as frequently as I do, and this one has already made it to the top of that list. It leaves one wondering: how might the experience differ in another season, on a higher floor, or in one of the suites overlooking the skyline? Would the same quiet elegance and seamless service hold up under different conditions?
Those are questions I find myself curious to explore again, perhaps sooner than I planned.

MM.M.TI have stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul before, in 2017 and 2018, and unfortunately my recent stay was very different from those previous experiences.
The hotel itself has changed noticeably. The lobby used to feel much bigger, and now it feels smaller, with shops added that weren’t there before. While the hotel still offers good dining options—including Nobu, an Italian restaurant, and a well-known Turkish restaurant—Nobu in particular feels small compared to other locations worldwide.
We stayed during the New Year and winter season, and the hotel felt lacking in festive spirit. The decorations were very minimal: mainly an outdoor Christmas tree and a YSL light tree inside, with only basic décor scattered around. Compared to other hotels we stayed in during the same period, it did not feel festive or atmospheric at all. If you are looking for a strong holiday or seasonal theme, this hotel may not meet that expectation. This is purely based on the overall look and feeling.
Upon arrival, no welcome drinks were offered, which was surprising for a Ritz-Carlton. We noticed other guests receiving welcome drinks while we did not. The check-in area is quite small and not suitable for handling large families or groups. There is also no proper waiting area, except for two chairs near the entrance.
At check-in, we were informed that our three rooms were on different floors (2, 3, and 10), which was shocking since we had requested connected rooms or at least rooms close to each other.
The rooms themselves varied greatly:
• The 2nd-floor room had a terrace but was not family-friendly at all. When exiting the elevator, the area felt very dark due to the wallpaper colors, which my children described as “creepy.”
• The 3rd-floor room was slightly better, but the window faced a plant wall, making it feel like a basement room.
• The 10th-floor room had a partial Bosphorus view and was by far the best room of the three.
Because of these issues, I contacted Trip customer service, and I would like to sincerely thank Maxence Cui for the hard work, patience, and dedication shown while assisting us. Maxence truly tried everything possible to help us in a very stressful situation, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. I could see that the Ritz-Carlton management was actively involved in the discussion.
Eventually, Mr. Mohammed, the hotel manager, stepped in and handled the situation with kindness and professionalism. He made us feel welcome, encouraged us to stay, and offered to move the other two rooms to the same floor, which greatly improved our experience. Many thanks to him as well.
After the room change, we were finally together as a family, with partial sea views and garden views. The room service food was excellent, which was one of the highlights of our stay.
Overall, this stay was not the Ritz-Carlton experience we are used to from other locations around the world. While the situation improved thanks to the efforts of both Maxence Cui and Mr. Mohammed, it still did not fully meet our expectations. It was okay, but not the memorable luxury experience we associate with the Ritz-Carlton brand.

MManu GuedesThe hotel is conveniently located near the airport, which makes it a practical option for an overnight stay. However, I would not recommend paying extra for breakfast, as the selection is quite limited.
The first room we were given was not acceptable: the bed was poorly prepared, missing proper sheets or a quilt, and the room was dirty. We were moved to a second room, which was slightly better, but it was still clear that more attention is needed regarding floor cleanliness and general details.
The air conditioning was difficult to operate, and the room took a long time to warm up. On a positive note, the reception staff were attentive and helpful.
Overall, in terms of price and location near the airport, it is reasonable. For just one night, it is acceptable, but expectations should be kept modest.

When I noticed that the bedroom window was a little dusty they very cheerfully went and got everything needed to clean the windows there and then and they did it with a smile. DDindijeeThe room is good but a little small than I expected but it is clean. And the balcony it is good as well but small. You can have chill time on the balcony while sipping your coffee or having a smoke there while looking for the busy street. Nearby and accessible to transportation taxi, bus going to the airport, markets, resto bar, pub, cafe and the tourist attraction. Taksim Square, galata tour, Kabatas tramvay station going to mosque attractions and all. ☺️
