Amazing place! Rooms are very spacious and clean with all required amenities. The staff was very nice. The swimming pool is open from morning till 9pm in heavenly surroundings. Booked it for its proximity with the airport, actually got very surprised by the nice local neighborhood - restaurants, bars, coin laundry, 7 eleven etc.
The location is good, but the interior of the room is too old and feels worn out. There is no view, but the room is big so it is not stuffy, and the parking lot is spacious, which is good. You could say that everything is nearby. It is about a 5-minute walk from the border checkpoint. I couldn't try breakfast because it was not open.
Our 2nd time at Katiliya. Location is both a pro and a con. It is very out of the way, but in return, you get absolute peace the entire stay. The cleanliness is tip top for the property, although u get some visible fatigue in the bedlinen (with holes) and yellowed pillows. Can see the balcony has been freshened up a little. Service is top notch with great hospitability and swift responses to our requests for buggies. There is only 1 restaurant and 1 bar. Fitness centre is an eerie walk down to basement - not for the faint hearted. But overall we would come back again as its the best mountain view accommodation without sacrificing on comfort, almost at a luxury level. Breakfast spread was wonderful. Wished there were lifts though, as my mum has difficulties in walking and had to always climb up and down 1 floor to the restaurant. For such views, you might usually have to consider rundown homestays.
Romantic hotel in a surprising place! Comfortable accommodation, perfect cleanliness! In the tent there is everything necessary for stay, next to your shower and toilet. Magic sunsets can be seen directly from your terrace. For dinner, you can order a flour directly to the room (350 batt). Also for a small fee (80 batt per person) a transfer service is provided to the mountain before dawn, where you can meet the sunrise and see the sea of fog. The cost of accommodation includes a delicious breakfast.
Services are great. Room is cleaned. Bathroom is well set up with bathtub and separated shower room. Bed and pillows are comfy. Hotel has a nice view of river. Breakfast is great with variety of different foods. Service in the dining room is also excellent. Overall we are satisfied while we were staying there and would definitely staying here next time we visit.
Very nice riverside hotel in a quiet and relaxed little town. Recommend the river view room with balcony. Breakfast was okay and in a nice riverside terrace. Good food nearby. We were just passing through but enjoyed the stay.
There's 2 nicely renovated units on their premises. This accoms and managed owned by the Tea Factory. As shared by the staff, we tour the tea factory, and experienced a great tea tasting with their kind staff. They have tea house with restaurant on site. They do not have to do this but their hosting really amazed us.
We ordered our dinner and they did room service to our room. Most importantly, the price tag is affordable. Definitely we will consider to return when we back to Mae Sa Luang.

MMARIA CARRERA REINAExcellent location, I walked from the Chiang Rai bus terminal and the staff who greeted me were very friendly, they help with information and booking tours and transportation. The cleanliness is impeccable, they have a cafeteria and work area, on the terrace there is a large space to rest and it is beautiful surrounded by plants, they provided me with all the toiletries, the space is very cozy.
GGuest UserWe’ve booked two rooms after research. The location is not far from night bazaar. The swimming pool is quite big and looks good. Staff were really nice to change our rooms facing the back so that it wasn’t noisy. Breakfast has reasonable choice and delicious.
AArceThe Riva Vista hotel was beautiful designed property, we loved it all, the service was friendly, the breakfast buffet and the dinner menu were great, very delicious food, attentive service, on a wonderful setting it is just few steps from the Blue Temple, that makes it convenient, but far from downtown.
PPoBoxEarthWe stayed here recently, and while the room was big, it felt a bit bare, there wasn’t much furniture, just one bedside table and no proper chair - only a stool. There was no coffee or kettle in the room, but you can get free hot water at the café downstairs (just ask for it) and purchase instant coffee packets, or get a fresh brewed coffee for a fair price.
The room had windows at the front and back, but only the one facing the walkway had an insect screen, which was odd since it doesn’t offer any privacy when the window and curtains are open. The back window opened onto an open field, but has no screen.
The curtains were about 80% light-blocking, so the room stayed dim after sunrise.
The beds were comfy, but the Wi-Fi signal in our room was weak and slow, we had to use our mobile phone data to get decent speeds. Parking is limited, and all the spaces were taken by 8 PM, so plan ahead if you’re driving. There was quite a lot of construction noise starting around 9 AM, but considering it was shortly after the floods, it’s understandable they needed to do repairs.
Overall, it’s okay for a short stay if you don’t mind a few quirks, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
WWWF_WWEStayed here for a few nights.. was my first time in Chiang Rai. I have nothing negative to say, the room was a good size for one person, clean, fully stocked with towels, shower gel, shampoo, bottles of water, etc.and cleaned everyday. When I came back from a days out it was nice and fresh. The shower handle needs to be in a certain direction in order for the hot water to work - (if it's pointed towards you, more pressure = less hot). Location-wise, it was only a few mins from the night bazaar which is very convenient. Many nice temples nearby via walking. Also the clock tower, cat cafe, Watsons, bus station, Boots, restaurants, etc.all walkable - 5mins tops. I recommend staying here.. if you want to go further away to see white and blue temple you can hire a bike rider for just a few Bhat. The big Central Chiang Rai shopping mall is not that far, you can also walk it!
I walked about 2 hours from the hotel to see the giant Buddha statue, along the way I saw many cool stuff. I really do recommend you walk around and check out the scenery rather than taking transport, you will find hidden gems along the way. A+
GGuest UserIt's a quiet and secluded hotel that's a good place to rest comfortably, even though it's far from the city.
If you're looking for a quiet place, it's probably fine.
I stayed in the villa building and it's spacious. The bathroom has an instant water heater, but only lukewarm water comes out, so it was a little uncomfortable to shower.
And a simple breakfast is provided.
SSmithWe stayed 3 nights in the Wiang Inn Hotel, and it is well located, being able to walk to a few good restaurants, shops and night bazaar within minutes. It is old style, but it was fine for us, as did not spend time during the day there. Breakfast was quite reasonable, including fresh fruit and salads, but they were exposed and the hotel needs to keep all buffet items covered up. Check-in and check-out was very quick and smooth, and they even put us in connecting rooms with two single and one king bed per our request. Bathrooms were tiny. My recommendation is to make a few investments to improve things like a proper coffee machine, add a fitness room and get advice on room decor and overhauls soon. Also there seemed to be noone ”in charge” who could greet the guests and ask how things are, and help guide the staff to become fully autonomous in making improvements. I would recommend the Wiang Inn, but I imagine if more hotel competition or cost pressure comes, they need to act in advance to keep up.
TTruderAlways stay at Hi Chiangrai when i visit this town.
Hotel location is perfect as there are lots of eateries within walking distance. Can also walk to the night bazar which also walking distance.
The hotel just renovated recently and the lobby and restaurant looks fantastic.
Will definitely stay in Hi Chiangrai again.
