Fantastic stay! We will be back for 5 days next year.
We stayed for 1 night and 1 day, and everything was much better than we expected. The resort is beautiful and very clean.
What we loved:
The Room: We stayed in the purple chalet. It was very cozy, warm, and had a great mountain view.
The Staff: The service was excellent. The staff speaks very good English and they were so helpful with our questions.
Skiing: We had a great time on the slopes! The equipment and the snow were perfect.
Our Plan:
One day was too short. We liked it so much that we are planning to come back next year in the Autumn season for a longer stay of 3–5 nights to see the colors of the trees.
Bottom Line: Highly recommended for families and international travelers. Thank you!
The first time I checked in, the front desk accidentally gave me two keys. Both rooms I entered had a strong smell of food and garlic. I thought it was just someone nearby cooking and the smell hadn't dissipated yet. I was really tired, so I just lay down. The more I rested, the more I realized something was off. Later, I discovered the smell was coming from the bathroom, and it was so bad it made me dizzy and weak. The front desk couldn't really understand Chinese, and I figured I only had a few hours to rest, so I just endured it. Later, it was so smelly, but I wanted to eat, so I had to open the room door to eat... After eating, I went to wash my hands and almost threw up from the stench again. Sorry, but it was truly awful.
The climb up was quite challenging, which is understandable given its mountain location. But once I saw the room's view, I completely forgot about the difficult journey. The view was absolutely stunning and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant is a further walk down, located at the same spot as the Tary cafe.
The glamping tents are perfect for visiting the Charyn Canyon (Valley of Castles). They're right by the visitor centre at the entrance gate, 10km down the road from the turn off the highway. Guides there also offered us an exclusive canyon hike. Tent itself was great for two of us - two beds, heater, light, and the view is amazing. It was occasionally a little noisy when the wind got really high. The tent doesn't have a bathroom - you have to walk a few minutes to the visitor centre. Regardless, it's one of the best places to stay to visit the Canyon.
