Location is excellent, right on the waterfront of the old city.
The hotel itself is very grand so to speak, spacious rooms and large public areas. It is becoming a bit old: Not necessarily run down, but dated. There's a bar area behind reception which looks like it's never seen customers for ages, the breakfast is a bit meager for a hotel of this size but then again Italians don't do big breakfasts. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
Hotel booked and fully paid for on Trip but surprise: when you arrive you must pay mandatory additional costs, in addition to the tourist tax, for a total of €29/day corresponding to “services” (package including card to access the room, cleaning of it, towels for the swimming pool…) therefore an additional addition of 203€ to be paid upon arrival on the 1490€ for two, breakfast only, already paid.
You are not allowed to go into the swimming pool without a swimming cap. The breakfast is not great. No small convenience stores around. You have to go to Monopoli for this (it's best to rent a car for the week anyway so you can visit the area). As much as some members of the staff are very friendly, others barely respond to you.. (breakfast room)
Overall, we experienced much better for less money. Positive point of the hotel: the rooms are correct.
A big thank you to Trips.com for their follow-up during our stay and their professionalism because the costs to be paid in addition to the price already paid are not mentioned anywhere when you book on the internet regardless of the site.
Very nice hotel and very good location.
Quiet place, close to the Sea.
The employees are very friendly and professional.
The breakfast is very nice and we can chose between Italian and Continental menu.
The food is fresha and very well cooked.
We were not picked up in the hotel despite the time we had warned and we went with a baby at 23.30h. We picked up that hotel for that service and we had to pay a taxi
This is the most cost-effective hotel we have stayed in Italy for ten days. Breakfast is average, the room is clean, the relationship between the off-season is really unbelievable. The hotel environment is very good at the foot of the Sant'Angelo. Free parking.

MMary KangWhat an amazing experience to stay in a Trullo at this property! My husband and I booked our stay in mid-Nov., which is the beginning of the off-season in Puglia. When we arrived, the concierge/manager, Ugo, graciously upgraded us to a loft/superior accommodation. It was fantastic! He personally walked us to our charming, Trullo, which was not only impeccably clean, but also completely modernized despite being an historic, antiquated structure. We arrived on a chilly day to find that the marble floors are heated and very toasty! The queen bed was comfy, and the updated bathroom was enormous, with a huge shower. The little dwelling even had a very well-equipped, modern kitchen if one were to stay for a longer period.
Finally, I left my small jewelry box in bathroom when we checked out. We took a 20 minute taxi ride to a train station, and apparently, during the ride Ugo tried to contact the driver to inform us that they'd found the box. Ultimately, when I discovered my oversight at the next hotel and contacted Ugo, he kindly express-shipped my jewelry back to my home in the U.S. I can't praise this property or its management highly enough. Don't hesitate to stay here!
MMee KuenTrip.com booking did not highlight nor state clearly that check in process is unusual. It was complicated and not timely and clearly alerted to Instructions on how to check in.
We were very inconvenienced by the lack of timely clear instruction. We arrived earlier because there was only one (overnight) ferry crossing to Bari per day. So we had to look for the hotel to leave luggage at the least. But the hotel entrance (or gate?) is closed or we just couldn't find it. So in desperation in the raining cold that morning, we asked a passerby for help. FINALLY, after a long long conversation under the rain, contacting the host, we could finally be allowed to check in.
These frustrations could have been avoided if instructions were given earlier or guests warned earlier of unusual way of checking in. We didn't receive instructions till we managed to contact the host thru a kind Italian soul who was able to speak English to help us. A few passers-by we approached couldn't speak English or ignore us because it was raining heavily.
GGuest UserVery friendly and smiling reception service. Very fast lift, breakfast that can feed an army, room on the sixth floor with a crazy view, large, mini bar, air conditioning and many other comforts. You can also use the swimming pool. Nice experience, I would do it again
GGuest UserI think this is one of the best facilities in Salento. Lecce is a wonderful city and the Hotel offers you everything you want to stay in peace
I also enjoyed the restaurant, good local food and well worked by the Chief.
RRenee GartnerThe location is right on the waters edge, with the perfect day beds to enjoy the ocean front.
The room is very generous in size, although we had ongoing issues with the airconditioning and it may be an Aussie thing - but no iron and only the option to wait 24 hrs for “laundry” if you needed anything pressed as it’s deemed a “health issue” to have one in the room. (Not ideal when you’re living out of a suitcase.)
The Hotel prides itself on ‘being green’, but it just felt like that was an excuse to cut corners on the what they offer.
The bikes on offer - were more like they were picked up from a thrift shop - but worked for a morning to travel a little further around the corner.
Be sure to enjoy the insane sunsets!
AAnonymous UserThe hotel was in a good location close to transport and shops. The hotel was clean and well cared for. I really enjoyed breakfast. There was a very wide choice of both hot and cold food. The breakfast staff were very helpful. The staff at the reception area were very good. I particularly want to thank both Frederica and Claudia for their cheerful and friendly way they went about their work. Checking in and out was easy. They were always willing to be of mservice. The room was comfortable, but an added touch such as tea and coffee making facilities would have been good. If and when I come to Bari again I will have no hesitation in staying there again.
Ppaulrob200Excellent location, 20 minutes walk from train station and back door gives direct access to the brilliant centro storico. Very pleasant stay at the Arryvo Hotel. Very modern interior, modern room design, with comfortable bed and clean rooms. A nice seating area on the first floor and a sizable coffee shop/restaurant. Breakfast is a la carte from the menu and was a refreshing change from the norm of buffet breakfasts. The onsite washing and drying machines were a massive bonus.
Extremely warm welcome at reception on check-in, extremely helpful and similar upon checkout. Id absolutely stay again if I return to Lecce in future.
CChristutiGreat place with amazing, friendly, courteous staff. They were all very attentive and on the ready. Free parking around the building wasn’t an issue. Great beaches only about 25-30 minutes drive away. They have certain activities and recommendations in case you don’t come in with a plan but there are definitely plenty of places to check out. Booked a private room for 2 people and it was big and spacious. Shared bathroom and showers were on the same floor and very close. Typical hostel vibes. Would recommend and consider staying again.
MMartinJohnOverall I would give the hotel a 3+ rating. It's not a four star as there are too many things that let it down. The staff are great especially Betty on Reception and Mohamed the Restaurant Waiter.
Areas that need to improve are room cleaning - we had a problem with ants so had to change room. The second room was okay. The music in the restaurant and pool area was boring on repetitive. I appreciate they have a theme but they need a bit more imagination and encourage the guests to enjoy themselves.
