A small hotel The number of rooms is not much, our family of 3 choose to stay in 1 room, 1 double bed, 1 single bed, we arrive early. The hotel can check in. Receptionist and good service, clean accommodation, spacious room, close to tourist attractions, convenient transportation, quiet outside atmosphere, good breakfast. Like staying at home, I like it here. If you like this style, I recommend it.
Staying in hotels in the UK, especially during summer, it's a real gamble whether you'll get decent air conditioning and a working elevator. On this trip, I've stayed at numerous hotels, various brands – all chosen for their good value for money, naturally!
Our first stop, the Kensington Palace Hotel, initially gave us a room with problems, and the following day, our new room lacked air conditioning. Then at the Holiday Inn Cambridge, the lobby felt really impressive, but to my surprise, the AC was broken. The room was stuffy and hot, so we had to escape to the lobby for a beer. Luckily, London nights were quite cool, even getting a bit chilly in the early hours.
It wasn't until we arrived at the Cotswolds Hotel & Spa. Although it also lacked AC, it had a balcony. We could just leave the door open, and since UK temperatures aren't actually that high, the room stayed cool, especially with the balcony door open to let in the breeze! And while there wasn't a regular elevator, there was a mobility lift that went up to the second floor. Unfortunately, we were on the third, so we still had to climb.
Despite these minor quirks, this hotel was by far our favorite on the trip. The room was incredibly spacious, featuring a large bed, a smaller bed, and even a sofa bed. The balcony overlooked a lovely green expanse. Our family spent time on the balcony playing cards, so much so that we almost didn't want to go out sightseeing!
I also want to give a big shout-out to Trip.com. Their service was truly exceptional throughout my journey. I lost count of how many times I called them, and without fail, they resolved every single one of my issues. Definitely a huge thumbs up! 👍👍👍
Myself and 2 young children stayed for one night whilst visiting friends nearby.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception team especially kind to my boys, and giving them activity packs was a nice touch.
We visited the pool, which was clean. Whilst not big, it was empty so didn’t have to worry about my boys bothering anyone. Clean changing rooms.
We ordered dinner up to the room and must say the children’s menu cost was really reasonable for really well portioned food.
Rooms were lovely and clean. Great that the chrome cast actually worked in the room unlike some other hotels.
Breakfast had a great spread for all tastes.
Only downside is having to pay for parking.
On the whole, great hotel and staff and would stay again.
Lovely hotel in Banbury town with lots of original period features, very comfortable and close to many restaurant options. Also a great base to explore the Cotswolds. The entrance to the car park is extremely narrow so be careful when entering and leaving!
A special thanks to Emily for her excellent service. She responded to my emails quickly and handled my requests with great care. We had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel has a charming, castle-like vintage style, and the surroundings are lovely. The breakfast and dinner and lunch were also great—highly recommended! Thanks again, Emily!
We love staying at Voco! My 2nd time, love it!
Booked for two nights while visiting Oxford, Woodstock and Blenheim Palace.
The accommodation and location fitted the bill perfectly. Although out of Oxford we had good good routes to all our destinations and the Park and Rides were beneficial.
Accommodation as expected - good standard. Dined there one evening - food good and well presented.
All staff we encountered were: pleasant, friendly and helpful.
Recommended - would book again.
What a beautiful hotel. The hotel was full of character which we adored. The rooms were a delight, lovely decor and exceptionally clean. We hadn’t booked for dinner but the manager was very accommodating and got us in the restaurant. The evening meal was delicious and the breakfast included in our stay was also delicious. We would definitely return. A much needed child free night! Thank you
It was nice stay. The location was not that great. Breakfast was not buffet but with nice view though the weather was bad that time. The kettle has leftover water and has a lot of scales. The changing room and the showers in the pool was freezing.
This is a hotel converted from an old castle prison. It is very innovative. There are two types of rooms. One is a room converted from two cells, and the other is a normal room. The window of the room converted from the cell is a small upper window like in the prison. The normal room I booked has a balcony. It depends on everyone's preference. The room has a coffee machine and a towel heating rod. The shower room is small and the button area is large, but it takes some skills to press it. The first time I pressed it for a long time, it didn't trigger. The air conditioning in my room was slightly insufficient, but the hotel service staff actively solved the problem. The overall service was very warm and thoughtful, sharing town maps and so on, so despite the slight inconvenience, I still like the style and service of this hotel. The breakfast is also good, and the black pudding is awesome. In addition, some rooms have stairs in addition to the elevator. If you have large luggage, you can try to contact the hotel to use the small elevator, as shown in the last picture

Very Good
NNarmeen ShahidIt is a good one - however unlike its branch in Egypt, they didnt had shower cap, slippers, bathrub and other stuff in rooms. The staff and their service was really good. The buffet as well wasnt full of vareities as in egypt (no doughnut stand). It was an hour away from sight seeings. Beautiful lounge and bar area
LLilit AdamianIt is truly a fairy-tale hotel — the rooms feel as if they come straight out of a classic English story. Everything is neat, clean, and thoughtfully designed, making the stay very comfortable.
The location is excellent, perfect for exploring Oxford on foot. The lobby area is especially beautiful — elegant, cozy, and welcoming, setting the tone from the moment you arrive.
Overall, the experience was extremely pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to experience the true charm and atmosphere of Oxford.
GGuest UserBrilliant stay, room upgraded and breakfast was included which I didn’t realise.
Helpful staff, lovely clean hotel.
Bus stop 5 minutes walk away, buses are regular to the city centre (approx 15 minutes away).

GGuest UserWe have stayed here twice. The first time (2025) we were in the block which is separate to the main building- this was OK and the service was much better.
The latest time we stayed we were in the main building- its grotty. The carpet leading to the rooms was stained and the room itself although it looked clean, didn't 'feel clean'-the place could do with a refresh and new carpets.
We were unable to get food upon arrival as they stop serving at 9pm- we arrived a couloe of minutes before 9pm after a 4 hour drive, we were disappointe and we could see a couple eating in the bar area whose meals came out long after we had arrived- so really we could have ordered and been served. We ended up ordering an Uber eats meal.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located in the center of Oxford, about 10 minutes' walk from the bus station. There are several chain supermarkets near the bus station, which is quite convenient. A refrigerator and a microwave are provided in the room, and the heating is sufficient. The toilet drains slowly, and the water will overflow if you are not careful when taking a shower.
JJadesandhuGorgeous and super cool hotel with all the amenities.
Super comfy bed with top quality bedding, very clean, cool decor, great vibes.
Hot / cold water tap on every floor with tea and coffee in the rooms or complimentary Clipper teas in the reception area. GHD straighteners and Dyson hairdryer in every room. Very good power shower with good towels and toiletries provided.
Fantastic friendly service and quick check in (3pm) and check out (11am). The reception area is a lovely place to sit and play a board game (provided) or have a cocktail from the great menu. Bikes available to hire. Free parking available on site.
Brilliant American diner on site - a must visit. The eggs are 👌🏽
A short drive from the park and ride and about 20min drive to Oxford city centre.
GGuest UserAround 30 minutes by car away from Oxford city area via motorway. Offered free parking in front of the hotel. Suitable for who is traveling by cars.
Add on 10 pounds for the breakfast. Variety is limited yet good enough to start a day with it.
Room itself is wide and clean, just Marriott standards so need need to worry.
GGuest UserClean and tidy! The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful! The breakfast selection was rich and varied! Convenient transportation! Quiet despite being in a bustling area!
