Sayram Lake, the sapphire on the Tianshan Mountains

Sayram Lake is located in Bortala, Xinjiang, near the port of Horgos between China and Kazakhstan, nestled within the Tianshan mountain range, at the heart of the Eurasian continent, far from the ocean. It is the furthest reach of the warm and humid Atlantic air currents, also known as the last tear of the Atlantic. As a saline lake, its color is incredibly pure. Depending on the changes in the sky's color, it can appear blue, green, black, and other colors, sometimes displaying a mix of colors at the same time. The lake's circumference is nearly 100 kilometers. If you can drive yourself, you can fully experience the beauty of Sayram Lake from all angles. We chose to drive around the lake counterclockwise. Along the way, we encountered sunny, overcast, and rainy weather, fully appreciating the rich and colorful palette of the lake. The most beautiful view is from the Dianjiangtai, a vantage point. If you are lucky enough to have blue skies and white clouds, looking down at Sayram Lake from above, you will indeed be stunned by its beauty.
