Check-in at Xinjiang Museum

Xinjiang Museum, located on Xibei Road in Urumqi, is one of the first national first-class museums and a provincial comprehensive museum. It is a well-known institution in Xinjiang for the collection, protection, scientific research, and educational promotion of cultural relics and specimens. It is also a popular check-in spot for cultural relic enthusiasts. The Xinjiang Museum was officially established in 1959. The original building was initially designed as an agricultural exhibition hall, featuring a mountain-shaped single-story structure. In 1962, it was relocated to its current site and converted into a museum open to the public. The new building was completed in 2005, with a construction area of 17,288 square meters, consisting of one underground floor and two above-ground floors, with a main height of 18.5 meters. The museum's basic exhibitions include 'Xinjiang Historical Relics' and 'Xinjiang Ethnic Customs.' It has also hosted special exhibitions such as 'Primitive Society in China,' 'Feudal Society of Gaochang during the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, and Sui and Tang Periods,' 'Great Nation's Silk Weaving Craft,' 'Primitive Society in Xinjiang,' 'Xinjiang during the Han-Tang Period,' 'Xinjiang Cave Murals (Replicas),' 'Xinjiang Unearthed Cultural Relics,' 'Splendid Motherland,' 'Ancient Corpses of Xinjiang (and accompanying relics),' and 'Museum Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy.'
