Amazing Anpan at Ginza Kimuraya

Ginza Kimuraya is a well known bakery in Tokyo with a long history. They are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the “Anpan”, which is said to have been created here. The signature Anpan is a soft and fluffy bun filled with sweet red bean paste. I decided to try another popular rendition: the Rum Cream Anpan. It was a delight as the anpan was sweetened just right and the cream was light and airy, yet strongly infused with rum for that alcoholic kick. Also popular is their Melon Pan, which looks like a tortoise. Apart from the crusty sugared top, the bun is also filled with fragrant and sweet melon cream.
