Relaxing Stroll at Ueno Park

Ueno Park is a large city park where you could easily spend an entire afternoon. It is within walking distance from Ueno and Uguisudani stations. It boasts many walking trails and memorial statues, the most famous being the “last samurai” Saigo Takamori and his dog. It is also a popular spot to catch cherry blossoms in the spring and foliage in autumn. Apart from the vast green spaces and strolling paths, Ueno Park also houses various shrines and several of Tokyo’s best museums, such as the Tokyo National Museum as well as the National Museum of Nature and Science. Ueno Zoo is also located within the grounds of Ueno Park. While the zoo and museums are chargeable, entrance to Ueno Park is free and there is plenty to explore in the rest of the park.
