Osaka Travel Review: The City of Smiles and Happiness That Melts the Heart Osaka is a city that is even more lovely and warm than I first thought. Every time I walk on the streets here, my heart beats with excitement and happiness. The city is full of color and life, from hip shopping areas, cute little cafes, to delicious food that makes me smile. ⸻ Easy and convenient transportation I really love Osaka's transportation system because it is clean, safe, and very punctual. I use the ICOCA card, which is easy to top up, and I can travel all over the city without having to waste time buying new tickets every time. The train stations have very clear English signs, so my travels are never confusing. ⸻ Osaka Food: Delicious enough to make you exclaim When it comes to Osaka, you can't miss "Takoyaki", a round ball with a crispy outside and soft inside, filled with fresh squid, topped with sweet sauce and mayonnaise. This deliciousness made me buy it and eat it many times. In addition, "Okonomiyaki", which is like Japanese pizza, has vegetables and meat mixed with a special sauce. The taste is rich and well-rounded. Eating it hot makes you feel like you are truly loved. Don't forget the "Kushikatsu", a variety of fried skewers, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, dipped in Osaka's special sauce. It's a menu that I can't stop eating. The desserts in Osaka are also amazing, such as the green tea soft cream and Japanese crepes with fresh fruit and soft whipped cream that make me smile every time I eat them. ⸻ Shopping and cafes: Endless cuteness The Shinsaibashi and Americamura areas are my favorite shopping areas. They are full of various fashion stores, both street and cute and sweet. I took a leisurely stroll through Don Quijote, which has a huge selection of items, from quirky sweets to cute collectibles. Each cafe has a different style. Some are decorated in sweet pastel colors, while others are cute and vintage. I like to sit and sip green tea and enjoy fresh fruit cake in a small, warm and quiet shop. It feels like I'm really resting. ⸻ Dotonbori: Neon lights and laughter At night, Dotonbori is filled with bright neon lights reflecting off the water in the canal. I strolled along the canal with hot takoyaki in my hand and took a photo with the giant Glico sign, the symbol of the city. The atmosphere here was filled with the happiness and laughter of the people, making me feel like I was in a world full of fun and warmth. ⸻ Quiet parks and shrines Even though Osaka is a big city, there are still quiet parks and shrines where I can rest my mind. I like to walk in the shady parks, listen to the birds sing, and stop by the shrines that are full of peace and auspiciousness. Every time I visit here, I feel deeply connected to nature and Japanese culture. ⸻ Impression: A city that makes my heart swell Osaka taught me that happiness doesn't have to be big. Just walking slowly, eating delicious food, and exchanging smiles with strangers can make my heart swell. I love Osaka in its natural and lovely way without any pretense.
