[Saitama Prefecture] A sacred site of the three Kumano mountains

Kuroyama Kumano Shrine ⛩️ 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 This shrine was founded by Yamamotobo Eien, who was the head priest of the Muromachi period. Yamamotobo was located there for a long time. It is said that the deity worshiped is Taira no Masakado. In 1648, the Edo Shogunate bestowed a red seal letter for the shrine's land of three koku, and in 1872, it was ranked as a village shrine. The shrine's name was changed to Kumano Shrine. The name Kuroyama comes from the exposure of dark rocks of the Paleozoic strata in this area. If you go about 10 minutes further into the shrine ⛩️, you will find a magnificent waterfall, so it is recommended that you visit both! Kumano Shrine and the Kuroyama Sandaki waterfalls are sacred sites that are copies of the Kumano Sanzan.
