[Tokyo] The spectacular double dragon torii gate

Shinagawa Shrine ⛩️ 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Shinagawa Shrine is located in the area that flourished as Shinagawa-shuku. The deities enshrined are Ame-no-hirinome-no-mikoto Uganome-no-mikoto Susanoo-no-mikoto It was founded in 1187 by Minamoto no Yoritomo to pray for safety at sea. It is also known that Tokugawa Ieyasu visited the shrine before setting out for the Battle of Sekigahara and prayed for victory. When I arrived at the site, I was captivated by the appearance of the torii gate and looked up for a while. It is called the double dragon torii gate, and the carvings of dragons 🐉 wrapped around both sides are impressive. There are three of these double dragon torii gates in Tokyo. There is also a rare kappa at the temizuya (purification fountain).
