Lake Pukaki

In September, I had the pleasure of visiting the Pukaki Alpine Center, a small building located by the shores of Lake Pukaki, designed for travelers. Sipping a warm cup of coffee while gazing at the lake was a delightful indulgence during my September trip. The building features large glass windows, allowing visitors to enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake and Mount Cook from the cozy indoors. It was a perfect spot to escape the chilly early September air and comfortably take in the majestic scenery of the lake. Visiting early in the morning to witness the sunrise accompanied by the mist rising around the lake was truly magical. Thanks to the 'travel subsidy,' I was able to enjoy a hearty breakfast and coffee, fully embracing the leisurely pace of life in New Zealand.
