The drive along the lake is arguably one of the best in New Zealand's South Island. Because it was September, the mountain peaks were still covered in snow, and the stark contrast between the milky blue of the lake and the snow-capped mountains was awe-inspiring. The entire drive was filled with exclamations of "Wow..." Thanks to the travel grant, I was able to leisurely drive the rental car, stopping at various spots around the lake to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Lake Pukaki wasn't just a lake; it felt like a magical gateway into New Zealand's natural beauty.
