Lake Pukaki

Lake Pukaki is not as well-known a tourist destination as Tekapo, which made it even more serene and peaceful when I visited in early September. By avoiding the peak summer travel season, I was able to truly enjoy the tranquility of nature by the lakeside with only a few other visitors. When I parked the car and closed my eyes for a moment, the only sounds I could hear were the wind and the gentle ripples of the lake. It felt like a perfect escape from the noise and stress of the city. Thanks to the 'travel subsidy,' I could take my time and fully immerse myself in this calmness. If you're looking to enjoy some quiet reflection alone or admire the scenery peacefully as a couple, Lake Pukaki in September is an excellent choice.
