Jiangyin Museum is located at No. 128, Chengjiang Middle Road, Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province (east side of Hailan International Trade, within Tianhua Cultural Center). It is a comprehensive museum of social sciences and a national second-class museum. The museum was first established in 1988, originally located in the Jiangyin Fortress Scenic Area. The new museum building was completed and opened to the public on October 1, 2005, with a main building area of more than 12,000 square meters. Jiangyin Museum has a rich collection of cultural relics, with more than 10,000 items, including 272 cataloged items, of which 35 are first-class cultural relics, and 237 are second- and third-class cultural relics. The collection categories include historical items, pottery, calligraphy and painting, crafts, etc. The gold and silverware from the Song, Yuan, and Ming periods are particularly notable, including items such as a gold hairpin with mountain-shaped pavilion figures, a gold-headed silver hairpin with five poisons of Ai Hu, a gilded silver box with the three stars of Fu, Lu, and Shou, a flame-shaped gemstone-inlaid gold hairpin, a lotus root gold hairpin, and a gold-headed silver hairpin with mandarin ducks playing with lotus. Additionally, there are important collections of Neolithic pottery and jade, Song and Yuan porcelain and lacquerware, and Ming and Qing calligraphy and paintings. The museum has a total of 14 exhibition halls, including the Jiangyin Ancient History Hall, the Ceramics Hall, the Tao Bai Calligraphy and Painting Hall, the Gold and Silver Jade Hall, the Bronze Hall, the Ancient Stone Carvings Hall, the Ancient Stele Hall, the Ming and Qing Costume Hall, the Buddhist Relics Hall, the Liu Brothers Achievement Hall, the Natural Specimen Hall, the Hua Xingcai Rare Stone Hall, and the Mineral Specimen Hall. While inheriting traditional displays, the museum also incorporates natural specimens, rare stones, minerals, and other physical objects into the exhibition content, suitable for audiences of different groups and ages. Each exhibition room is equipped with touch screens to provide information on topics of interest at any time, and some exhibition areas are equipped with multimedia devices to enhance the exhibition effect. The museum also oversees three specialized museums: the Liu Brothers Memorial Hall, the Gaochengdun Liangzhu Site Exhibition Hall, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine History Exhibition Hall. It has achieved certain results in archaeological excavations, academic research, cultural activities, and publicity and education. In May 2000, the Gaochengdun Liangzhu Culture Site excavated by the museum was selected as one of the "Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 1999"; in June 2009, it was rated as a "National Second-Class Museum"; in early May 2013, the Liu Brothers' Former Residence was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit; in August 2021, it was selected as one of the "Most Beautiful Public Cultural Spaces" in Jiangsu Province for 2021; and in January 2023, it was included in the list of the top 100 most searched museums in China for 2022. Jiangyin Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 16:30 (entry stops at 16:00), and is closed on Mondays (except for legal holidays). Truly, the world is full of wonders! There are also various crabs and a dazzling array of fish... These experiences are very immersive, and the animals are very lifelike, with many real specimen animals, which are eye-opening! Of course, there is also a Bronze Hall (mainly bronze wine vessels, ritual vessels, and weapons), and a Qiao Dou. The museum, with its broad mind, welcomes us. Touring here, which spans two floors, is not expensive. On the first floor, there are also introductions to the lives of the Liu brothers, including Liu Tianhua, and stories about Huang Xie, the Lord of Chunshen, who had noble character and even gave up the throne and the country to his more outstanding younger brother.
