A winter trip to the Summer Palace

Absolutely stunning! We have visited many Chinese historical and cultural landmarks, but this has to be one of our favourites. The park is massive and has many entrances/exits, which are easy to get to by all forms of transport. As it is a famous location, this would definitely be a place to avoid during Chinese holidays. Although it is freezing in Beijing during the winter months, we think this is the best time visit. There were no crowds or noisy tour groups. The park was so serine and peaceful and the large glistening frozen lake was something special to behold.
