The renovated rooms are nice, though the bathroom is a tad small. The location is excellent, especially for those wanting to catch Broadway shows. The subway is just a short walk away, and it's incredibly convenient to head to Times Square early for photos – you'll have all the best spots to yourself.

Great place to stay for one night. Clean and spacious. Jessica at reception is helpful in providing easy check in and helped with airport shuttle to LGA the next morning. Will stay again next time.

Great location but very dated, dusty, and overall disappointed with amenities. No cups, slippers provided. Multiple sockets not working especially the one in the bathroom. Shower doesn’t have any pressure.. Over priced.

Hotel room and amenities were good. But the staff was exceptional they were very helpful and accommodating our super early check-in. This is how hotel staff used to be, highly recommend. Location is within minutes of grand Central an multiple subway stations.
Conveniently located in Noho, across from the former CBGB site, it was the perfect location for my trip.
It's easily accessible by bus and subway to major New York locations. There's a supermarket nearby, and Chinatown is a five-minute bus ride or a 20-minute walk away for relatively inexpensive dining options.
It's apparently inspired by Japanese capsule hotels, so don't expect luxury. As a petite Asian woman, I found it cramped, so larger men might find it difficult.
Cleanliness and security were decent. The shared shower and toilet were clean and well-maintained. The provided body soap, shampoo, and conditioner were also good. Linens are changed daily.
Air conditioning is not available, so some people may find the provided bathrobes too cold. Those sensitive to outside noise may find it uncomfortable.
There's a shared lounge in the basement with vending machines and a water dispenser, but it's small and cold.
You can store your luggage in the hotel's lockers. It costs extra, but considering the situation with lockers and storage facilities in the US, it's convenient.
This is a great place to stay for a budget trip to New York.

I would like to compliment Ms. Mariam Ibrahim for her outstanding and courteous service during my check-in at the New York Marriott Downtown. From the very first moment, her warm and cheerful personality made me feel right at home. She kindly suggested an upgrade to the 38th floor with access to the Executive Lounge at a very reasonable charge—a memorable experience for my family, as we had never stayed so high before. The view from the room was truly breathtaking, and even from the lounge we could see the Statue of Liberty, which made our stay even more special.
Ms. Mariam’s professionalism, kindness, and positive attitude reflect the true spirit of hospitality. She is definitely well-suited as a frontliner, and her service made our stay an unforgettable one.

Location is a bit far from main metro but that can be compensated with Lyft ride which is just abt $6usd to the metro...we chose here given the rate of stay is so much lower than in Manhatten.
Room wise is very decent and clean. Amenities were lacking ie toothbrush / paste and bathroom slippers which will be a plus point if provided.
The hotel is next to some Industrial building and there's sensors within the room to monitor Carbon Monoxide which. Personally stay here only if u are on budget and wana balance ur your long stay in NYC.
There's no eateries nearby and nearest are small shops which need about 10mins walking.
The good thing is hotel does provide snacks / hot n iced water at lobby and for breakfast time - they provide free pastries, fruits and coffee / tea.

Really great hotel. The service was OUTSTANDING!! They gave great recommendations, recognized us when we walked in every day. Wonderful! We had the one bedroom and it was huge! Too big for what we needed but it was nice. The room is starting to show its age with wear and tear on furniture but I’d still recommend the hotel. Great location to walk to all the top attractions in Manhattan.

The Asian man being the counter at check in was not friendly at all. He also took a long time to check everyone in. There was a long line and only he was working. We were tired and when we went upstairs to our room, the key didn’t work. We had to go back downstairs and wait again, only for the man to tell us he gave us the wrong room number.
On our last day, the fire alarm went off at 1am while we were sleeping. We called downstairs and no one answered. We evacuated the room only to find out it was a false alarm. There was no announcement. Just one person behind the desk telling people who asked him. The fire department shut down the elevators so we had to wait to go back to our rooms. We got very little sleep after that.

GGuest UserReally liked this hotel. Good location, room was great, staff were welcoming, and we got a free drink on arrival. Will definately come again!
GGuest UserThe hotel was amazing the location was also good. The only thing was I there was no room service with a 22month old rooms service is always a good shout. We required milk for the baby and the receptionist said we don’t do this service. The lifts were very tight and of course busy so with a stroller it was always a hit & miss when you can get into the lift. The cleaniness and staff were very pleasant and professional. I would recommend this hotel to other visitors and will stay here again.
AAnchengThe toilet had leaks issue (the room in level 48). Called hotel to fix it but the first engineer was not able to find the issue. The second engineer was able to find the issue but we were leaving New York on the same day. The leak from the toilet is quite gross.
Called hotel for help for the toilet leak issue but one of people took the call just ignore the request (he did not take an action but he said he will )
KKitrynThis hotel is immaculate and absolutely everybody is above and beyond pleasant. Though not directly affiliated with the hotel, Inexpensive, super clean and very easily accessible parking is a two minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2 1/2 days of parking. The room was incredible. Exposed brick walls with super high ceilings, the bathroom had a huge tub and a wonderful shower. Pro tip: if traveling with someone that you do not want to see you naked, understand that it is not a one-way mirror over the bar and you absolutely CAN see into the shower While someone is showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so this was not a real issue. The restaurant within the hotel and the Ramen place directly next-door are both wonderful. I did not make it to the rooftop bar this time but since I absolutely will stay at this hotel every time I come to visit I will check it out next time! The room was extremely quiet, temperature was easy to control. Now, a little too much honesty, I am an extremely “sensitive” person, and resting and hearing so much from the second I stepped into this hotel. I was never scared, as I definitely don’t typically get scared, but I had numerous very genuine and very obvious things happen while I say that this hotel, such as seeing things walk across the hall in both my room and the hallway, in the main lobby bathroom someone walked into the bathroom and into the stall next to me, but never left, and when I looked, there was no one there, and I was in the shower. I could hear several men talking to each other as if they were right next to me. I was definitely not hearing people from another room. I also heard the door to the stair well open, which is right next to our room and I was right next to the door so when I looked, there was nobody there and I pulled it shut again. Just out of curiosity, as to what was there prior to the hotel, on the way home my daughter looked up the history to the hotel. Let’s just say it was very enlightening as to why i was experiencing so much activity in this hotel, especially on the third floor next to what I will assume would have been a fire escape at some point. It also may explain why the first thing that went through my mind when I opened the front door of the hotel and turned to my daughter and said “I’m surprised the hotel gets away with door opening inward. It goes against fire code. Anyway, You can look up the history yourself and understand all that I have said. :-) either way, a spectacular hotel at a decent price and a very safe and beautiful part of the city. I will definitely stay here again!
AAcaciaFilmsIt was a night stay before my flight and the front desk people are telling pretty nice!
My room it seems to be bigger but divided by a white door to make more room, I can hear the people next door very clear and the divide door can actually be opened…..
The shower water was finicky and I couldn’t figure out how to use it but the front desk said you need to open both the faucet and the shower faucet to get hot water!
It was a nice room overall, overlooking the airport!
LLyss_ssI made a reservation online for 4 days, and on the 4th day I went to the hotel front desk to renew for 2 more days for a total of 6 nights (renewal on site was very expensive, official website price). During this period, I changed rooms once because the room I got for the first time was too low and had no view.
The facilities are rudimentary, and there are no slippers and pajamas. Not to mention that many American hotels don’t have them. The ambient light under the bed in the second room was broken. The wardrobe door was deformed and could not be closed. When the right cabinet door was opened, it would hit the bulge on the top. The air outlet can only be opened to about 60 degrees and cannot be fully opened. The faucet is obviously too short and difficult to use. These are all errors in design and construction, which are outrageous.
One night at 1:30 in the morning, the fire alarm in the room announced that there was a fire. After broadcasting it four times, we all planned to run away. Then the broadcast said it was okay. The alarm buzzer and the loudspeaker were loud. The white girl next door said that she immediately went to find a job. Personnel but no one, outrageous.
The staff are very good-looking.
The design of the hotel space is very good. As we all know, there is no design in the United States, so we come here just for the sense of design. The experience is average. If I go to New York again, I will not come back.
PPhyllisGreat location but very dated, dusty, and overall disappointed with amenities. No cups, slippers provided. Multiple sockets not working especially the one in the bathroom. Shower doesn’t have any pressure.. Over priced.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in an excellent location. It’s very easy to get around by walking or hopping on the metro. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful, but the hotel itself is in need of renovations (as other reviews have stated). If the hotel were to make those renovations I would stay again.
GGuest UserThis is your no frills place for a place to lay your head. It was relatively clean, had all the necessary amenities, adequate breakfast, housekeeping. I would definitely stay here again. It gets the job done a peaceful rest without breaking the bank. The room had a slight odor not sure what it was but maybe they should do a deep clean to all the rooms and bathrooms. It could be just the one I was in. The toilet seat wasn’t cleaned that well but I survived.
YYukiVery noisy. The waiter was rude. The door was open even though there was a ”Do Not Disturb” sign on it. The cleaning of the nearby rooms was very noisy every day. They didn't care about the rest and quietness of other guests.
