Overall, I don’t think I would stay here again. Maybe it is worth to spend a night or two here. Details below:
During my 6D5N trip, I have stayed in different hotels. This hotel had the most expensive parking by far. It was ¥2000 / night. Also the parking was a bit inconvenient since the parking area uses an elevator-system and you need a staff to operate the parking system machine to get your car each time you need to use your car.
There were a lot of families with young children during my stay, not the best place if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax. There were also only 2 elevators so sometimes it takes a long time to wait for the elevators due to the crowd.
The hotel provides a lot of amenities, including some daily activities from 17:00-18:00, noodles from 20:30-21:30, and free flow drinks from 10:00-22:00 (no free laundry tho). I got to try the traditional outfit dress up session, it was a good experience to quickly try on the Okinawan-style kimono.
Just a personal preference, I did find their soaps and skin care products heavily scented, which I wasn’t a fan of.
The location is excellent and very convenient. Although the airport shuttle no longer stops directly at the hotel entrance, you can take it to the neighboring Lequ Hotel. I recommend booking your return shuttle when you check in; then, you just wait in the Lequ lobby for your bus.
The sea view from our room was absolutely stunning, perfect for watching sunsets and even fireworks displays right from our window – it felt like a front-row seat! The room itself was very spacious, and there were plenty of bins.
A major plus is the Lawson convenience store. There's one on the ground floor, and if you're staying in the annex building, it's right outside the elevator – incredibly convenient!
Breakfast was very generous, offering a wide array of Okinawan local specialties – so much so that even after four days, I couldn't try everything! The only slight letdown was the coffee, which wasn't great.
100% will want to stay here again. A very new and nice hotel. Great amenities, nice room space and decorations. Staff were friendly. Public bath within the hotel. Thoughtful enough to provide slippers for room and within hotel use to walk to the public bath. Free welcome drink tickets with a range of alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks to choose from. Huge carpark at the side of the hotel with a huge convenience store (family mart) right in front. Huge plus for those who doesn't want to eat in the hotel and too lazy to drive out of the compound for food.
Standard Family Room is ideal for family of four. We were surprised that the hotel has prepared some events on a New Year Day. The breakfast was good too.
We can see the fireworks from our room. Fabulous!
The minus point is : they do not help us to prepare the Fuyon beds; we have to do it ourselves.
Hanasaki Marche is just opposite the hotel. There is Starbucks, Blue Seal, Onigiri & etc. Very pleasant surroundings.
Other than the above, we have a pleasant stay at Hotel Mahaina Wellness Resort Okinawa!

It's a triple room with a sofa bed, very spacious and clean. Complimentary self-service tea and coffee are provided, and I didn't find the room to be as cramped as some other reviews suggested.
The location is incredibly convenient. There's a FamilyMart convenience store just 10 meters downstairs, and Tsubogawa Monorail Station is only 20 meters away.
I noticed quite a few ********* guests. I didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on it, but you can easily grab something from FamilyMart.
There's a river right next to the property. Ounoyama Park is just across the bridge; the huge slide there is actually more convenient to reach by walking across the bridge than by taking the monorail. On my way, I even encountered a large crab, bigger than my fist!
Amazing Dormitory. I would stay here again even if I come as a family next time! it's close to everything easy to travel around! there are planty of space to store our stuff. if you have too much stuff you can rent a locker too it's only 110 yen a day so cheap. the bathroom is great and clean. staff are very helpful.
There are a communal room for people who stay in Dormitory only.
- Staff also change our Towel and PJ everyday.
- Free drink and ice cream
- There are TukTuk taxi service to American Village
- There are bike for rent to get around town
- Staff can speak english very well

Location: The hotel is about a 20-minute taxi ride from Naha Airport, costing around 2000 JPY. It's a 3-5 minute walk to Kokusai Dori. Just outside, to the right, you'll find the popular Nammuru Ramen, and to the left, a famous fried beef cutlet restaurant. Convenience stores are also very close by.
Facilities: The room isn't huge, but it's well-equipped and looks relatively new. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. Rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy at night.
Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean and tidy.
Service: The front desk staff speak good English. The room was cleaned daily, and two bottles of mineral water were provided.
Overall, it's a good choice and I would recommend it!
Perfect hotel for my getaway even just four days solo. Two different types of breakfast and I love the Japanese on. Easy to book massage and facial inside hotel even it’s typical hotel price. Indoor and outdoor pools perfect for changing weather. I’m so impressed with the simple thing like gardening with all types of plant. Also good for kids with all entertainments. The sauna and public bath are small but standard and practical.
Location wise, it’s next to the beach and park for morning workout if you don’t wanna stay in hotel. Taxi apps GO is fantastic to get me anywhere but still short distance reaching museum, American village, community onsen. So I’m greatly satisfied.
Next time I will book diving day experience as there are many agents around.

The hotel is very clean. Having only opened in 2023, it still feels incredibly new and fresh during this stay! The rooms are a good size, featuring a practical wet/dry separation in the bathroom.
Right opposite the hotel, there's a large shopping mall, coffee shops, and a huge supermarket, making it extremely convenient for shopping. I was particularly delighted to find many local Japanese fashion brands available there.
Guests can conveniently pick up complimentary toiletries, coffee, and Twins tea bags from the self-service station located on the 2nd floor when checking in.

The room is quite small, with barely any space beyond the bed; a 30-inch suitcase can only just be opened. However, its cleanliness is a definite plus. Toiletries can be picked up from the lobby on the second floor. Right downstairs on the first floor, there's an Okinawan restaurant that's both reasonably priced and delicious. Plus, several convenience stores are nearby for all your daily needs. The biggest advantage, though, is its excellent proximity to the monorail. You can walk directly from Makishi Station via the pedestrian overpass, which is incredibly helpful when traveling with kids and trying to minimize walking.

VVFJ’s AdventuresThe hotel is in a great location, super close to the airport, but also to the city center, it’s like 15 mins walking distance and 20 mins to airport by monorail, so it is very convenient. The staff was very friendly, considering the language barrier, they still tried to communicate with us and at the moment of our stay, they were offering guests Blue Seal ice cream :). The room was small, like it is typical in Japan, but it was OK for us and it was clean, with a modern decoration. They also offer guests different amenities, which can be find at the lobby and pajamas that they leave in the room. Overall, we had a pleasant stay :) (P.S: Pic looks weird because I quickly edited my bf out🤪)
LLWX72Check in is in a self service concept where you have to queue to access a kiosk to key in your check in details to be issued keycards to your room. Then you pick up the amenities you need form different baskets in the small lobby which was quite difficult to manoeuver with luggages and many people trying to check in. Room was quite small space was tight with two single beds squashed in with very little walking space available. Toilet was automated and I like its functions.
GGuest UserReview of Onna Resort, Okinawa
About me:
I’m a frequent flyer to Japan and a long-time fan of staying at villas and resorts across the country. I enjoy discovering different accommodations across Japan. This time, I chose Onna Resort for a relaxing group trip.
⸻
👍 What I liked:
• Spacious resort– Very roomy and comfortable, easily fits 7–8 people. Perfect for families or groups of friends.
• Clean and well-maintained – The entire resort was spotless and felt well cared for.
• View exactly as shown in photos – Stunning ocean view that matches the listing. Great for enjoying sunrise and sunset.
• Beach nearby – A beach is within walking distance. While it may not be the best in Okinawa, it’s still nice for a stroll or quick swim.
• Washer and dryer setup – Includes both a washer-dryer combo and a separate dryer, which is especially handy for drying towels and clothes after swimming.
• Well-equipped kitchen – Good selection of cookware and appliances for preparing meals.
• Private and quiet surroundings – Peaceful setting with no disturbance from other guests.
⸻
👎 What could be improved:
• Inconsistent check-in information – The email offered early check-in, and a staff member via video call said I could check in at 2pm. But when I arrived, another staff said it was 3pm. This communication gap should be addressed.
• Missing basic items – No cups or glasses were provided, obviously an oversight by the cleaning staff.
• Limited towel supply – Towels are provided strictly based on headcount. Given the proximity to the beach, it would be more convenient to offer a few extra towels without needing to ask.
• Limited Coffee Supply - The resort provides coffee bags based on headcount as well, which was insufficient for guests who consume two or three cups daily. A more generous and considerate coffee supply would enhance the experience.
• Insufficient tableware – Only two large plates were provided. It would be more practical to include additional small dishes, rice bowls, and condiment plates (e.g. for soy sauce or wasabi), especially for guests who plan to cook.
• Lack of basic cooking ingredients – It would be helpful if staple items like cooking oil, salt, and pepper were provided to make meal preparation more convenient.
• No power outlets near beds – Most sockets were located low on the wall and away from sleeping areas, making it inconvenient to charge phones or devices overnight.
• Weak Wi-Fi signal in places – Internet connection was spotty in some areas of the villa, although it offers several wifi spots within the resort, but still weak
GGuest UserANA was an amazing hotel, and our stay in Okinawa was absolutely wonderful! The amenities were top-notch and so relaxing, making our trip even more enjoyable. The area was beautiful, and the views from our room were breathtaking.
A highlight was PST Pizza, which was delicious and conveniently located right by the beach. The breakfast was really good and worth it. We highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to visit again!
JJUpon arrival at the Southwest Grand Hotel, one is immediately struck by the calibre of design sensibilities that grace the establishment. Our room exhibited a masterful fusion of contemporary elegance and practical luxury, with thoughtfully appointed furnishings and refined finishes throughout. The intelligent spatial arrangement maximised both comfort and functionality, whilst the sophisticated colour palette created an atmosphere of understated opulence.
The hotel's facilities proved equally impressive, with particular mention deserved for the meticulously maintained swimming pool and comprehensively equipped fitness centre. These amenities demonstrated the property's unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction across all facets of the hospitality experience.
Breakfast service warrants special commendation, offering a veritable cornucopia of culinary delights that catered admirably to diverse palates. From impeccably executed Okinawa classics to inspired international offerings, the gastronomic range was nothing short of remarkable. The quality of ingredients was patently evident in each dish, reflecting the kitchen's dedication to sourcing premium produce.
The exclusive lounge service elevated our stay to extraordinary heights, providing a sanctuary of refined comfort accompanied by attentive yet discreet service. The curated selection of refreshments and light fare throughout the day ensured guests remained splendidly catered for between mealtimes—a thoughtful touch that exemplifies genuine hospitality.
Perhaps most noteworthy was the exceptional staff performance across all departments. Room service was delivered with flawless precision and genuine warmth, whilst the housekeeping team maintained immaculate standards with remarkable efficiency. The front-of-house personnel displayed particular resourcefulness in facilitating car park tickets, navigating potential complexities with ease and ensuring guests experienced no inconvenience whatsoever.
The Southwest Grand Hotel stands as a paragon of contemporary hospitality, where exceptional physical attributes are matched by equally impressive service standards. Their collective commitment to guest satisfaction ensures this establishment remains a distinguished choice for the discerning traveller.
SsheenzdinoWe absolutely loved our stay! Although this was an old hotel since 1975, the resort is well renovated and maintained well. The room is very spacious but a bit dark for our elderly parents (preference) and clean! Room has plenty of privacy. Stayed here for a mid point to Churaumi Aquarium.
There is also a public bath within the hotel open in the evening. We came in winter so there was no crowd at the beach and breakfast buffet. Lawson is 5 min walkable distance. Ate dinner at Yakiniku Ryukyunoushi nearby.
LLiulangjinxingHoshinoya's service was first-rate. I highly recommend the horseback riding, which was a unique experience. The infinity pool is beautiful, and there are plenty of snorkeling spots nearby. The kids had a blast, and the service was excellent. The restaurant was plentiful, and the surroundings were beautiful. The only downside was the Wi-Fi wasn't working, and they couldn't fix it. The hotel immediately offered to change rooms, but I didn't consider it due to my heavy luggage. Even if I did, the cost of cleaning wouldn't be cheap. They suggest better equipment management, and Ctrip did everything they could to accommodate. Thank you so much! This was the only time I wanted to give a negative review, but I changed my mind because of the excellent service at Hoshinoya. I maintain my high rating and recommend it!
CChilunThe hotel is located on Kouri Island, with a very nice view of Kouri Bridge.
The room is large and equipped with cooking utensils. It can accommodate many people.
The cleaning time was very random and did not follow the schedule, and the hotel staff came into the room to clean without prior notice. I was a bit dissatisfied.
Since I had notified the hotel through Trip.com before departure that I would arrive very late, but when I arrived, I found that the front desk was closed, and there was no prior notice from Trip.com or the hotel about the key collection arrangements, which made my group very panic. Fortunately, I found Trip.com customer service to find the password. Thank you to the customer service and compensation for helping me handle it that day.
JJuzimanmanMy stay at this Hyatt on our last day in Okinawa was very satisfying.
**Location:**
It's conveniently located, just a 5-10 minute walk from Kokusai Dori. A taxi from the airport costs approximately 2000 JPY, making it easily accessible.
**Arrival Experience & Lobby:**
The overall environment was pleasant. Upon arrival, staff promptly greeted us and assisted with our luggage. Check-in was incredibly efficient, taking less than 10 minutes. The lobby also offers comfortable sofas for guests to rest.
**Room & Facilities:**
The room was a good size, not at all cramped. The bathroom featured a practical wet/dry separation. Our window overlooked the street, but the room was surprisingly quiet.
**Cleanliness:**
Everything was spotlessly clean.
**Service:**
The service was excellent, and we were very satisfied.
HhelloVLOcean view from room balcony and close to the cultural & F&B experience spot Gala. Direct access to beach and lovely to listen to waves to sleep and wake up.
Love the spaciousness in the room and amenities are good. Staff are helpful. Convenient transfer from hotel to airport. Unfortunately If not driving it’s hard to go to Yomitan town to get food or walk around because the estate was surrounded by fields and village houses and some graves.
