"We recently stayed at the Hotel Royal Continental in Naples from January 7 to January 9, 2025, and our overall experience was very positive. Location & Safety The hotel is located in one of the safest and most touristic areas of Naples, right on Via Partenope, facing the sea and Castel dell'Ovo. Naples, as a city, is still evolving into a true tourist destination. The city is making significant improvements to attract more visitors, and you can feel that transition happening. This particular area where the hotel is located feels very safe, thanks to continuous police presence. We saw officers patrolling on foot and by car at all hours of the day and night, which gave us peace of mind. The neighborhood is also filled with excellent restaurants offering a wide range of quality food at reasonable prices. Of course, not every place is great, but there are many good options within walking distance. Additionally, the historic center and most major tourist attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. You can take a leisurely stroll and reach the main sights in under an hour. Room & Comfort The seafront location of the hotel is outstanding. The view from our room was beautiful, and we loved opening the panoramic window to let in the fresh sea breeze in the morning and evening. It’s a wonderful way to start and end your day. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained, with a level of luxury comparable to a 4-star European hotel. However, it's important to note that European hotel standards are different from those in the U.S.. By American standards, this hotel would be closer to a 3-star property. Despite this, the housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning the room daily and replacing towels. Service & Atmosphere The hotel staff is professional and polite, but interactions felt a bit robotic and mechanical. It seemed like they were following routines rather than making genuine connections with guests. That said, room cleanliness was good, and we appreciated the attention to detail in that regard. One thing that stood out is the hotel’s nostalgic 1950s vibe. The hotel seems proud of its mid-century charm, which they promote through signs and advertisements around the property. If you enjoy that type of retro atmosphere, you’ll appreciate this hotel. Breakfast Experience The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The dining room overlooks the sea, which makes for a lovely breakfast setting. There are several breakfast stations with a wide variety of options, and the food quality was great. Waiters clean the tables and take care of guests throughout breakfast service, which adds a nice touch. We were very satisfied with the overall breakfast experience. Final Thoughts Overall, Hotel Royal Continental is a solid choice for staying in Naples. The location is its biggest strength, offering stunning views, proximity to restaurants, and easy access to the historic center. it provides a comfortable and memorable experience with beautiful sea views and a nostalgic atmosphere. The hotel is 5 minutes' walk from the Garibaldi Central Station and 10 minutes from the duomo and the way of the courts and thus the historic centre is close, even though neighborhoods in Naples are often degraded. The hotel can also help call a taxi at a more favorable price. You can see the volcano from your room! The service is also very good. It's rare to have a real star experience. "Facilities: There is a swimming pool, but it is not open in winter. For people on business trips, there is a lack of office desks and stools in the room, which is a bit inconvenient for office work. Hygienic: clean, the health staff is still very responsible. There is no bathtub and the shower room is very small. Environment: Not too far from the attractions and the city, quiet around, no Chinese restaurants around. Service: The front desk and restaurant staff are very welcoming."

"This was a very charming, romantic atmosphere. Secure parking. The staff were helpful and friendly. An extremely clean hotel. It's not new, more nostalgic. The breakfast was good, not great, but had some very delicious croissant varieties clearly labeled. There were meats, eggs, fruits, and other options. Juices, teas, coffees to choose from. The stay was inexpensive."

"Hotel is beautiful, could have a few sunbeds on the roof as no where to lay just sit. However the location is literally in the ghetto, it’s a run down area with nothing around you and you don’t really want to be venturing out at night in Naples or the local area"
