The hotel's location is excellent! đ Using the Hakone Free Pass, we took the Odakyu Line for free to Machida Station, then used our Suica card to transfer to the JH and TY lines to Shin-Takashima Station. From there, it was just a short walk across one intersection to the hotel. It's in the same building as KT, so it was easy to find. We checked in at the front desk on the 9th floor. The room wasn't very big, a rectangular shape, but we managed to fit one suitcase by the door and another on the desk by the window. After dropping off our luggage, we took a fifteen-minute stroll to Yokohama Station for some ramen đ and to browse the drugstores. I was surprised by how lively Yokohama Station was at night. The next morning, we had a very hearty breakfast (seafood rice was my favorite â definitely a highlight!). We then took the train to Kamakura and Enoshima. On the way back, we got off at Ishikawacho Station from Kamakura-koko-mae Station and had some delicious Shokusai Wagyu, then braved the rain to explore Chinatown. On the third morning, the weather was beautiful, so we decided to walk ten minutes to Yokohama Landmark Tower and Minato Mirai 21 to check them out đ. We got back at 8:45, just in time to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Check-out was at 10:00, and the elevators were at their busiest then, so expect to queue. You can help yourself to skincare products and other amenities at the front desk. Apart from not providing bottled water, everything else was perfect.

Overall, this is a pretty clean hotel. The room was spacious and quite new, perfectly adequate for two people, and the bed was also a good size. However, its location is a bit far from Yokohama Station. You'll need to walk 5 to 10 minutes to Shin-Yokohama Station first, then transfer trains to Yokohama Station. The price was very affordable; at just 208 for one night, it offered excellent value for money. Plus, the Ramen Museum is conveniently located right next door, where you can enjoy making your own ramen and explore the exhibits.
My flight from KL landed earlier by 20 minutes. Once I got my luggage, I took an airport taxi to the hotel. It took just 10 minutes to get from Haneda T3, there was no traffic. Arrived at the hotel at about 10:40pm. Upon arrival, the night duty attendant checked me in. It was a very quick process, showed me my room, gave me wifi password, etc and that was it. Although the Hotel is only a 21-room hotel, where room size ranges between 158 sq ft to 355 sq ft, it is very well compensated by the hotel and hotel roomâs cleanliness, attentive service and polite and proactive staff. Scherry, the Duty Manager, is a gem and is very knowledgeable of the area. She has given me tips on how to go around the neighbourhood, where to get food, and how to get to the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, efficiently and cheaply. Thank you Scherry for your professionalism and service. So of you are planning to visit Tokyo and needed a hotel to stay close to Haneda airport (without breaking your bank balance) and before moving on to your next destination, like a cruise or further afield, I highly recommend that you try and stay at Hotel Imalle and look for Scherry. I am pretty sure she will look after you.
The hotel's unique sailboat-like exterior makes it a Yokohama landmark! It's located right by Yokohama Port, next to an amusement park where you can see the Ferris wheel. The ropeway station is also conveniently close. The Cup Noodles Museum is just across the bridge, making it perfect for family trips. The Red Brick Warehouse is within walking distance, and there are large shopping malls and supermarkets nearby. It's a bit of a walk from Sakuragicho Station, about 20 minutes on foot.
We stayed in a Bay View room for two nights this time. The room was spacious with a beautiful view overlooking Yokohama Port. Every morning around 6 AM, we could watch cruise ships docking. The bathroom was also large, and all the toiletries were Byredo. It's a shame there wasn't an extendable magnifying mirror, which made it a bit inconvenient for my husband to shave. Two bottles of mineral water, with cute bottles, were provided daily.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Haneda Airport with several departures throughout the day. You can choose a time that suits your flight; no advance booking is needed, just wait at the hotel entrance. You can pay with a Suica card on the bus, and it's 1000 yen per person, which is quite a good deal. It saved us the hassle of lugging our luggage onto the subway.

The hotel was beautiful, and my dad and I were very happy with our stay. The room was extremely clean. We tried the hot springs on the hotel's top floor and also at the shopping mall across the street, and the ones at the mall were definitely better. We booked the 'one night, two meals' package, and overall it was excellent value for money. Regarding transportation, I didn't research it thoroughly beforehand, but it turns out you can take a bus directly from Odawara, Hakone-Yumoto, and Gora stations, and it's free if you use the Hakone Free Pass. When we arrived, a Chinese ticket agent told us the Odawara bus was very crowded and suggested we take the H line from Hakone-Yumoto. There's also a bus that goes directly to the hotel from the Hakone Open-Air Museum. The hotel's own shuttle bus has a fixed schedule (see image below), and the pickup spot at Gora Station can be a bit tricky to find.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights on a business trip, as its location made my morning and evening commutes to my office in Japan very convenient. My accompanying spouse also found it very easy to explore various popular destinations in Yokohama independently via the light rail. The hotel boasts a superb location; an airport shuttle stop is conveniently located right near the hotel, and there are plenty of dining options both downstairs and within the building. However, the price difference on Ctrip between rooms with and without breakfast is unusually large and doesn't seem to align with the hotel's actual breakfast charge. I suggest verifying and updating this so that guests can more easily choose breakfast-inclusive options when booking through Ctrip.
The Fujisawa Smile Hotel has an excellent location, less than a 10-minute walk from Fujisawa Station, making it very convenient for visiting Kamakura, Enoshima, and Shonan Kaigan Park. The area around Fujisawa Station is bustling with various shopping malls, offering a wide range of dining and shopping options to suit any budget. I was confident in the hotel's cleanliness. Initially, my room faced the street and was a bit noisy. I mentioned my poor sleep to the front desk, and they immediately moved me to a quiet room. For my last night, I was even given a room on a higher floor. I originally planned a two-night trip but extended it by one night. I love Fujisawa and Kamakura!

First time in Japan, so I chose this hotel based on location and price, with my desire for higher floor rooms for a view. I stayed near Shinagawa station, and also in Osaka, all with the same budget per night. This hotel was the best of the 3, very nice facilities and amenities (7/11 in the lobby!!), with a spacious room. I'd probably pass on the buffet breakfast next time, but that's just me, there was a wide selection for everyone. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in that area.
The hotel is quite large with an old-fashioned yet somewhat luxurious decor. It's a bit far from the subway station, about a 15-minute walk. However, regarding hygiene, on the first night, I found what looked like a bloodstain on the duvet. I was too late and too tired to do anything about it then, so I just went to sleep. But this flaw really didn't align with my impression of Japanese hotels or Hilton. The next day, I left early and didn't have time to mention it to the hotel. When I returned, though, the bloodstain was gone, which suggests they changed the duvet? Is that something to be happy about? Furthermore, this was the only hotel in Japan that charged me a deposit. I checked out very early, and there was no one at the front desk. Luckily, a cleaning lady helped me call a receptionist who came from the lounge to assist me, and she had to go back and forth again to get my deposit for me. I felt bad disturbing the front desk so early. Many hotels now have self-checkout machines, so I'm not sure why this one not only doesn't have one but also charges a deposit, adding an extra step to the process.

Very Good
GGuest UserI spent a wonderful night here during New Year's Eve. The waiter barely understands people and foreign languages, but he is friendly and good at communication. I booked a public bathroom first, but then I changed it to a private bath when there was room. My satisfaction improved a lot! The hotel is very close to HakoyĆ-Yumoto Station, and the taxi cost was less than 1,000 yen. Later, we couldn't get a taxi and it was very comfortable for us to walk to the station for 15 minutes with our childrenđłïžđ
GGuest UserNot bad. I can see they are trying to make this property more known to international guests from different countries. Two dire problems: the food was extremely salty. With the exception of the Teppan dinner, all of the meals we had here had so much sodium content. Also, their food in general is not of high quality and tastes pretty much the same across all dishes. Please make improvements.
And another thing I would highly recommend is that the manager lady learn English so that next time I visit this property and have to communicate in English and ask for some help, she doesnât get sassy or mad at me for requesting another staff member who can speak English. I really needed some help with golf reservations and understandably it is not her business that we had to go golfing the next day. However, I didnât realize it was such a rude thing to ask for another employee who could understand what I was saying when she couldnât understand my requests specifically because of her lack of English proficiency. For this property to become popular with international guests, it would be a wholesome idea for the chief manager to learn to speak better English anyways.
I guess she knew that she was being rude by hitting the desk because she came up to me and gave me her business card (without my asking and finally in a nice manner) when I merely asked a younger staff member if the angry lady was the manager. She must have known that she was giving me attitudes.
When you are in the hospitality business, please donât forget that guests are there to enjoy their tripâsavoring each momentânot to feel uncomfortable or be bothered by staffâs attitudes.
AAnonymous UserWe booked a hot spring hotel on short notice and were very satisfied with it. We arrived early and could not check in until after 3:30 pm, but fortunately we could leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff helped us make the bed when we were having dinner in the evening. There was a rich variety of dinner, but we didnât really like the side dishes. It would have been better if the side dishes were replaced with sashimi. We even had a surprise dessert after the meal, which made us very happy. The breakfast the next day was also very filling and delicious. The experience is very good and recommended for staying.
JJiatengSince it was my first time making a reservation, I had some trouble getting into the room, but they responded quickly so there was no problem. The accommodation fee was cheap, so I was able to spend more money on sightseeing. There were convenience stores, restaurants, and parking lots nearby, so it was comfortable.
MM1424****Cleanliness: I wish there was a trash can in the bathroom.
Environment: Overall very clean, similar style to Atour and Ji Hotel, and the view is decent.
Service: Quite good, they greet you when you come in and out.
Location is great, in an office building, but it was really hard to find the first time. I couldn't find the entrance from Tokyu below, and had to ask around a lot. However, it was super convenient afterward. There are also a few Chinese restaurants downstairs, and you can hear a lot of people speaking Chinese working in the building. It's more suitable for sleeping than a vacation feel (compared to Tokyu). The sofa in the room is quite comfortable, and the bed's firmness is good too.
AAnonymous UserGood
1. Free breakfast
2. Breakfast had lots of bread variety
3. Free drink machine (soft drinks & coffee w matcha latte!)
4. Have free amenities for you to take
5. Location is near station and lots of shops surrounding too
Neutral:
- 2x washing machine & dryer but because of their popularity, have to fight for a chance to use them
Bad
- can be quite confusing to get to if you donât go from station but the surrounding shops
GGuest UserOverall an ok stay. A bit hard to find, very limited English spoken by the staff which led to some confusion (even for the representatives who were assigned to us by English speakers). Felt quite formal and not that warm
Room was more or less as expected, and the dinner and breakfast meals were quite elaborate. Felt that breakfast was actually the stronger meal of the two, so wasnât necessarily worth it to pay extra for dinner. Iâd likely skip doing dinner in the future. The room attendant who helped us was very kind and attentive, although we had a bit of language barrier given we donât speak Japanese.
The big disappointment was even though the ryokan is advertised as allowing guests to book one of the larger hot springs on the property for private use for 45 minutes, we werenât able to do this. We arrived within the designated check in time and were told that it was all booked up for the day. There was no way to book in advance and we were only staying for one night, and they didnât try to accommodate allowing us to book at all for the next day before checkout. This really hampered the experience overall - we werenât that interested in using the gender segregated facility (was traveling with my partner who is the opposite gender) as we wouldnât be able to spend time together, and the tub in our room was quite small.
They should amend this policy to allow all guests to book a private hot spring time or not advertise it as part of the room! Feels like we got cheated out of the service and we werenât offered anything else as an alternative. I would have booked another ryokan had I known this were the case - there are many others in Hakone which are much better value and have nicer / newer private facilities for around the same price. I wouldnât recommend Yama no Chaya given this was a big part of what we thought would make it a good experience
AAnonymous UserA very beautiful ryokan, old but very well maintained. The decor is so beautiful. From the moment you check in, you will be in good hands of the ryokan, well served with friendliness. Keiseki meals (dinner and breakfast) are served in the room. Food is delicious! And love the private outdoor onsen!! U get to book for 30 minutes per day for the stay. Well worth the price.

KKadifazhengThis hotel once hosted the Emperor. The rooms are spacious, and being nestled in the mountains, the air is rich with negative ions. There's a balcony where you can step out and listen to the gentle sound of water. For our hot spring experience, we opted for a private onsen. Breakfast was a bit crowded, but well-organized. All dinner restaurants require reservations; if you don't have one, the izakaya on the second floor is a good option, and their set meals are quite decent. You can take a train up the mountain, making the location very convenient. The red bridge in front of the hotel is also incredibly picturesque for photos.
