Would totally recommend this hotel to anyone."

"The facilities are complete, and the front desk is on the third floor. The location is great, very close to the Planetarium business district. There's a large Don Quijote right across the street from the hotel. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the station, so not too far. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. Coming from Fukuoka to Kagoshima, I felt the rooms here were quite affordable! 😂"

"The rooms and public baths were, of course, spotlessly clean, and every area was impeccably clean, making for a very comfortable stay. Above all, the level of hospitality was exceptional, something rarely seen in modern accommodations. From the front desk, restaurant, shop, and all the cleaning staff working throughout the building, every aspect of the hotel staff, including their service and consistently warm greetings, made for a truly pleasant stay. "I booked this hotel for its onsen (hot spring) with Sakurajima views. The hotel's setting is fantastic, perched halfway up the mountain, right next to Shiroyama Observatory, offering panoramic views of Kagoshima city and Sakurajima. I was satisfied with the hotel's facilities and the onsen service. However, the room we were assigned had its window completely blocked by two high walls, leaving only a tiny sliver of sky visible if you looked up. My daughter jokingly asked, 'Mom, are we staying in a 'prison' view room?' I reported the issue to Trip.com, and the hotel called to offer a room change. Since we were only staying one night and our main goal was the onsen, changing rooms would have meant repacking our luggage, which I decided to avoid. So, I chose to stay in the original room. Upon checkout, the hotel's Chinese staff member specifically explained that Japanese people don't mind corner rooms as they are often larger (which was true). I hope the hotel assigned me this room not out of unfriendliness, but as a normal room allocation, or even out of good intentions."

"When getting in the room, there is a musty smell that might be from the carpet but after turn on the purifier and run for hours the smell is gone. The hotel bed is comfortable, although the room is small but the toilet size is big enough. The location is also convenient as it is in front of the train and bus station, the airport bus just drop off besides the hotel. When depart back to the airport, you just need to go down to level 1 for the bus ticket and bus. There is also a lawson downstairs, and there are a few restaurant on the lg floor which is not part of the hotel. The hotel even have adapter when to borrow as I forget mine. I forgot to put up the “do not disturb” sign on the door, house keeping come in to clean and tidy the bed, change the towel but very thoughtful as they did not move any of my stuff that are on the table as I might feel very uncomfortable if stuff is moved. The tv is working quite well, youtube all are working fine. Amenities are sufficient too, the toothbrush is so nice and I like the scrubbing towel they offer. There is also free umbrella provided that must return after use. The hotel even have a nice view on the reception floor which you can see the volcano from there."

"This is a huge hotel, so big that the check-in line stretched outside the door. The mud in the hot springs was a unique highlight. The kids' play area and restaurants cater well to families. The hotel was very clean and the hospitality was excellent. It was a shame that it rained heavily on our first day, but perhaps because of that, we were able to check in earlier than expected, which allowed us to relax comfortably. The complimentary ice cream and ramen were a pleasant surprise. The staff were all very attentive and polite, making for a truly enjoyable holiday. I would definitely love to visit again. Thank you!

A very rustic, traditional, homey guest house. No en suite bathroom but shared ones are super clean AND there is an indoor onsen!! The room was very warm and cozy, food ( must be ordered in advance) was amazing. The owners are extremely warm and friendly - gave us great recommendations and made us feel so at home. You are able to rent hiking here for a very low price. Location is very central, close to Miyanoura port, restaurants, and amenities. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly highly recommend :)

Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient. It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking. Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

Good points: - Right in front of the Ohara-machi bus stop. - A-Coop (supermarket up to 1900) is within walking distance, making shopping convenient. There's a shared microwave in the inn, so you can buy food at the supermarket and eat it there. There's also a refrigerator in the room. - There's a large public bath and a sauna. - Shiratani Unsuikyo is a 30-minute bus ride away. - The hotel staff are friendly. Not-so-good points: - The noise from the plumbing in a nearby room was surprisingly loud, making it difficult to sleep. - The rental equipment is not well maintained. The equipment itself is old. While it seems to be an established inn and shows its age in many ways, I think the location is excellent. It might be good to leverage its age and perhaps even specialize in mountain-related features. However, the facilities need to be maintained.

If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience. Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.

The location is undeniably stunning — crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and the kind of tropical scenery that makes you feel completely removed from the everyday hustle. The standout of the entire trip was without a doubt the staff - Tana, Takumi, Hoshi. From check-in to check-out, every team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make my stay special. They went above and beyond with local recommendations and were always on hand with a smile. Breakfast is great with lots of choices on buffet. There is also all day lounge to get free drinks and nuts. The resort itself has real charm and a wonderful atmosphere, but it’s clear that the facilities are showing their age. Several areas would benefit significantly from renovation — from the rooms to the common areas, a refresh would bring the physical experience in line with the exceptional service and natural beauty surrounding it. That said, if you’re looking for a peaceful island escape with a welcoming team and breathtaking scenery, Pricia Resort still delivers. With some investment in the property, this could easily be one of the best resort experiences in southern Japan. Recommended for: nature lovers, snorkeling enthusiasts, and travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path Japanese island escape. A must visit - Yurigahama Beach! It is advisable that you have a car as it is a bit far from the main road. Also, it would be better to avail the breakfast and dinner in the hotel due to hotel's location and there is no nearby convenience store from the hotel. Breakfast is a set meal and at the same time they have buffet style for the drinks, rice, etc. The room is spacious for 2 and the price for it is reasonable. The hotel staff are very approachable and some of them could speak/ understand English. They are also very accommodating to our requests. Overall, staying here in this hotel is worth the money.

The location is great, right in front of the tram stop, and there are many good restaurants nearby. The public bath is also a nice touch for unwinding after a long day. I booked a twin room, and as expected for a Japanese business hotel, it was small. I had to open my suitcase near the entrance as there wasn't a separate luggage rack. On the second floor, there's a reception area where you can enjoy unlimited coffee and other drinks. While the amenities aren't extensive, they are well-stocked at the reception. There's also a gym, and the breakfast restaurant offers a fantastic view, especially for catching the sunrise over Sakurajima in the morning.

I was lucky to get a corner room on the 11th floor with a great view of Sakurajima. The room was spacious and the furnishings and decor were very upscale. The breakfast on the 4th floor was plentiful, and I also tried the dinner buffet. It was originally 7000, but I think I only paid just under 5000 per person when checking out, so maybe there's a discount for hotel guests. The food was delicious. The hotel shuttle bus to Chuo Station runs every half hour, so be sure to check the schedule. You can board at Higashi 21, across the street from Chuo Station. There's a huge supermarket across the street with great stuff. Fruits are half the price of Fukuoka, but the apples were a bit mushy. There's also a huge drug store diagonally opposite, which is great for browsing. The view of Takenohashi across from the hotel is also fantastic and worth a stroll. The hotel is conveniently located right opposite a station. I recommend taking a taxi to Shiroyama environment. The hotel also has natural hot springs. Thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up!
