Room accommodation with open-air bath [Room] Yufu Dake was well seen from the open-air bath. It is convenient to wash shampoo and body in the open-air bath or in the inner bath in the room. There are chairs and tables on the balcony. 【Amenities】 There are several cosmetics for men and women on the washbasin in the room. There are cleaning, but for the price of the room, including other amenities, it was .... 【Bath】 Small towels are prepared in the public bath, so you don't need to use wet things. There are few amenities in the dressing room. [Meal] Private room in the dining hall with evening breakfast. Dinner and Bungo beef steak were soft and delicious. When I entered the private room, I was already prepared for sashimi and baked fish on the table. There may be corona measures, but the baked fish was cold, so it was a little disappointing. There was breakfast, hot tofu and specialty ryukyu. There was a matcha and sweet service at check-in. It is good to spend a leisurely time walking to Lake Jinxi. I just felt that it was not as expensive.

I stayed at Itsuki Yufuin was for one night in October 2022. With many repeat visits to Japan over the years excellent hospitality is a given. However, my experience at this ryokan was so outstanding that I'm compelled to leave a glowing, though belated review. I had originally booked another ryokan in Yufuin. The other ryokan, noticing that I was a solo traveler, reached out to cancel my reservation. I was lucky that Itsuki still had availability for my dates and accepted a solo booking. On arrival, I was greeted and shown to my room which was unexpectedly the size of an entire house. The rooms were very comfortable, and I immediately regretted that I only spending one night. There was an indoor and outdoor onsen, both impeccably clean. The bathroom was supplied with plenty of towels and amenities. I could see the top of Mt. Yufu from the outdoor bath. Dinner was delicious and beautifully presented, served in a private room in the main building. A friendly and enthusiastic staff member, named Van, explained the dishes in detail. My cottage consisted of a very comfortable western bed, with a separate room for futons. The area was very quiet at night and I had a restful sleep. Breakfast was served, with help from Van, again privately in the main building. The breakfast consisted of wholesome, local ingredients, filling and energizing but not too heavy. Upon check out, I requested a taxi to take me to the train station. When the driver arrived, I vaguely heard the staff speaking to him but didn't pay much attention. At Yufuin station, the driver declined my payment and indicated that Itsuki had covered my taxi fare! I was so pleasantly surprised. My stay by itself had already been impressive, and this wonderful gesture made it unforgettable. The staff and accommodations at Itsuki have left such a positive and lasting memory. I am looking forward to returning to charming Yufuin, using it as a break mid-trip to simply relax. I would definitely choose to stay again at Itsuki for its warm courtesy and peaceful surroundings.

It is about 10-15 min walk from Yufuin train station to the Ryokan. If you have large luggages, it will be good to call for a taxi, otherwise, it is manageable! We were warmly welcomed by reception staff. They were quick to receive us and took care of our luggages as we were checking in. A tour around the ryokan was also given to us by a staff, Erika-san who took care of us for our 2 nights stay. The room, bathroom and baths were clean and comfortable. Sleep wear was provided and to top up the experience, they also provided Yukatas and footwear for going out. Also, besides providing the showering gels, the vanity table even included some facial and hair lotion. Breakfast was sumptuous and yummy and we had a private room to ourselves. Erika kindly explained to us the dishes in English and offered us with photo taking for memories. (Don’t have to feel awkward requesting). Also, contrary to some reviews, dinner was also splendid and tastes were just right. Ingredients were fresh as well! Worth the dollars and cents! If you are looking at a hot bath, this ryokan has got 3 private baths (2 outdoor and 1 indoor) and 2 public baths (1 for men and 1 for women). Went for the private bath and it felt like it was our own sanctuary as we were undisturbed and were given a time limit of 1 hour 40 min. There were a few staff who are seen around from time to time and they are always polite and helpful. Can’t emphasize enough on their service! A place I will come back to in future!

My family of four planned a trip to Fukuoka and decided to visit Yufuin to experience outdoor onsen. I came across Yufuin Gettouan during my research, and its beauty and tranquility really spoke to me. We only stayed one night because of the lack of availability (and also because it's really expensive), but we really wish we would have stayed longer. There was a ”once in a decade” snowstorm (which seems to occur more frequently than once a decade) when we took the Yufuin no Mori from Fukuoka to Yufuin. As always, fresh white snow makes everything more beautiful (at least in my opinion), and despite my high expectations, I was absolutely blown away by the beauty and serenity of this ryokan. We stayed in a main villa because the annex villas didn't allow kids, but it still has its own private outdoor onsen. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that there was no indoor shower/bathtub in the villa. Since we were not brave enough to take a shower outdoor in snowy conditions, we ended up going to the public bath to take a shower before heading back to the villa and hopping into the private outdoor onsen. It's an unbelievable experience watching the snow falls while being submerged in a cozy onsen! Service and meals were both exceptional, and I would have gone into more details if not for the 1500-character limit on TripAdvisor. If you are looking for a traditional onsen ryokan experience, you really can't go wrong with Yufuin Gettouan. My only regret was only staying for one night.

It is a 5-story inn. To commemorate the anniversary of its founding １１１, there was a free beer drink service in the lounge. It is a long-established inn in Yufuin Onsen. The customer service of the front desk staff was polite • and kind. I was able to answer the difference between Yufuin and Yufuin properly. I stayed in a large Japanese-style room on the ５ floor. When I opened the curtain, Mt. Yufu was approaching in front of me. The bathrooms are not unit-type, and the bath • Toilet • wash basins are independent. Supper is a summer Oitagawa kaiseki course. All the dishes were delicious. In particular, the dishes that left an impression on me were grilled on a Japanese black beef hoba miso ceramic plate. The warmed miso has a hoba scent, and the slightly sweet taste goes well with the beef. The more you want to refill it with an exquisite taste. Breakfast is buffet style. I was satisfied with the local menu of Oita Prefecture, including dango soup. There are two indoor baths in the large hot spring bath with a spacious space. There is also a whirlpool bath and a Louis Bosti hot water of the incense hot water. The open-air bath has natural rocks on the side facing the garden. The hot water temperature is a little hot and has a feeling of slimy. What is it in the indoor bath! Yunohana. Yunohana, which crystallized the hot spring ingredients, was in bloom in the bathtub. The hot spring is a good proof. I was able to stay at this hot spring inn and became a good memory of my husband and wife trip.

This is not your typical ryokan. The rooms are big with a good sitting area.. The soaking tub and shower had so many mechanisms that it takes a while to figure out all the controls. Every room has a great view of Yufu mountain and the valley. Some of the rooms are free standing units. Service is great and the included dinner is outstanding. It is a typical Japanese kaiseki dinner with numerous courses. Breakfast is entirely Japanese style, and they serve rice, miso soup and fish. Put up with it if your taste is 100% western. You can have a nice cup of coffee or juice near the lobby when you finish your breakfast. Though they will not serve you coffee with the breakfast. Overall, you will be overjoyed with this place.

We were warmly greeted by staff who helped us with our bags and checked us into the hotel room . We had booked into the twin room . Wow it was huge with a bedroom , dining room as well as a wash basin and toilet . Only letdown was that there was no shower nor bathtub . Another friend had booked the one with private indoor and outdoor onsens and they were beautiful . This hotel had two private onsens that one could use anytime . You hang a “in use” sign on the door each time you use and it was very beautiful . The public bath was also unique and picturesque . Kaiseiki dinner was delicious with wagyu beef . Breakfast was Japanese style and was also delicious . What made the stay special was the Nepalese staff Pathak with his good explanation and his ability to communicate English with us . That made a difference to the stay .

We (5 adults and 2 kids) stayed one night in Villa Touou. 2 staffers were already meeting us at the parking area who also directed us to drive to the villa right away. The check in was just done swiftly in the villa where the kids can settle down easily. The welcome snack was so delicious I regret I didn't finish the ones my other family members didn't consume. There was one standalone bedroom with 2 double beds facing a toilet (without bath). Then the master bedroom is connected to 1 tatami area and 1 tatami attic. With 7 of us, Ikkoten already set up 2 sets of mattresses in the attic and another 1 in the tatami area. With kids in a rainy weather, we appreciated a lot that the front desk called us before they drove to pick us up to head to the dining room. I guess each room/villa had their own private dining room. Only complaint is that our cars had to park a bit further up slope than the villa. And upon check out, while we were hoping we could drive our car to the front of the villa so that we could load our luggage easier, the hotel amenity car decided to restock our villas and occupied the front space of the villa. While we enjoyed the comfortable living room at night with our whole family, we also wished to try the smaller room where the in-room onsen could also enjoy the fantastic view. The onsen in Villa Touou does not have any view.

To stay at Tanokura Ryotei is an experience one must have at least once in their lives. From the moment we parked our car in the adjacent lot , service was of the utmost pleasure of our hosts at the Tanokura Inn The entry way alone whisks one away to a dreamland of comfortable luxury on nostalgic and beautiful settings Check in/ out : Check in was a beautiful experience. You are sat down , and swiftly checked in. You are then shown a life size map of the place that shows you where you are staying and all the public onsen ofuros are. Room : our room , room 60, is a palatial suite of endless tatami, shoji doors , a beautiful garden , lots of space and an amazing rotanburi (outside fresh onsen ofuro ) surrounded by beautiful plants and garden. You are absolutely at peace. Food : As with any stay at a ryokan , dinner and breakfasts are provided. Kaiseki dinner here is like being fed like and imperial queen would feel like. The food is so absolutely delicious and bountiful Breakfasts are just as filling and absolutely delectable The onsen rotanburi was so addictive I would make it a point of going in the morning , before dinner and after dinner. So healing. Location : Tanokura is so conveniently located 1 minute walk from Lake Kinrin , 5 minutes walk from the main shopping street Over Al I was so happy with my 2 nights stay here. I am so sad to leave I hope the universe brings me back here again in the near future

I chose it because of the low price, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much at first, but it was the best inn I've ever met. First of all, the staff's response is very kind and has a soft demeanor. It was a customer service and attentive service that reached the itchy place. All the rooms are separate rooms, so you don't have to worry about your neighbors. When you pass through the beautiful garden and enter the room, you can smell the nostalgic tatami mats. This time it was the cheapest room called ”Fukujusou”, but it is spacious enough for two people. The facilities are a little old and the amenities are minimal, so it would be a good idea to bring your own hair iron. However, even with that, the best thing is the presence of a private open-air bath. All rooms have private open-air baths, so you can relax and enjoy your time without worrying about other people or time. In addition, there is a large private bath that needs to be reserved at the time of check-in, so it would be nice to use that as well. Both are free-flowing hot springs, and the water is colorless and odorless and good for your skin. Dinner and breakfast is a chef's choice course, but the taste and appearance are the best, and there is no doubt that you will be satisfied with your heart and stomach. It is located in a quiet area, so it would be difficult to explore on foot, but if you have a car, you don't have to worry about the distance to sightseeing spots at all. I think it's the best place to quietly heal the tiredness of your trip. I would like to stay again when traveling to Oita.
