Marco Polo Xiamen Reviews

Marco Polo is a great hotel. We have stayed here on three separate occasions. The King Room is spacious. The breakfast selection is huge and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful and most speaking English. It is situated in a good location on the south side of the main islan. An easy walk to the Ferry (to Gulangyu Island). Also close to the start of the Mountain to Sea Walk (22.5km). Will stay there again.

The hotel staff is beyond polite and helpful. The breakfast is versatile, cakes served at the loby caffe good. The location was quite convenient, you can run or stroll round the lake and there are many nice restaurants in the hotel proximity. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. If I come again to Xiamen, I’ll know where to stay.

The 18th-floor Maritime Silk Road Suite** frames Gulangyu Island vistas, where terracotta touch panels and a Nanyin music-equipped bathroom mirror showcase meticulous Minnan craftsmanship. Manager Allen personally drove to deliver forgotten documents to the airport at midnight (with hand-drawn apology cartoon), while custom jogging maps pinpoint photography hotspots at Huliao Hill. Savory highlights include Longyan claypot ginger duck and 12-topping satay noodle bars. Fridays feature Peranakan Cultural Salons for crafting lacquer thread relief bookmarks, with check-out gift boxes scannable for colonial villa audio tales. A perfect equilibrium between business efficiency and cultural immersion.

The hotel is fantastic and we always stay there when traveling to Xiamen. Great facilities and welcoming staff, although the restaurant we visited inside the hotel was poor. The restaurant was the Italian on the ground floor of the hotel. We ordered a variety of starters and main meals, although they were brought out at different times and effectively we all ate alone. I stressed the point that can all the starters and main meals be brought at the same time and the response was they take different times to cook, I found this astonishing and surely the chefs could of altered this to meet our demands. The staff within the restaurant were poor at best, they didn’t ask how our meal was, even though we left most of it. In conclusion the hotel is wonderful, but if you’re thinking of eating in the Italian I would definitely not advise as the treatment and money we spent was not worth the value at all.

The hotel is clean and nice, location wise - got a lot of eateries within walking distance.

Another amazing stay. My room overlooked the pool and lake. Super relaxing and right in the middle of coffee street and bar street. I’ll be back again.

That hotel was awesome! Comfy rooms, great stuff, and the staff were super nice and helpful, especially Anya at the front desk. Everyone was so courteous and willing to help. It was so relaxing, I'd totally recommend it.

Amazing! Will definitely stay here again! Hotel staff are friendly, and the hotel is located in a central area that is accessible to any places around Xiamen.

There is no lift from basement carpark to lobby. The walkway from lobby to the staircase to carpark is not sheltered. It was not a good experience as it was raining on the day of checking in

The hotel seemed a little old - but the overall ambience and service was excellent. Location and the xiamen city infact is very beautiful. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good

Great location, got upstage to the lake view room. Staff speak good English at reception. Good breakfast with lot of varieties.

Marco Polo has the best staff service of all the 5 stars hotel i have ever been in Xiamen and Guangzhou. I was helped and welcomed buy Ivy and her manager. Everything was great , the Cabana room that i stayed is very unique and give the guests the feeling of beach front resorts!!!!

This hotel absolutely lives up to its 5-star rating. The location is stunning, surrounded by a beautiful environment with serene views of the lake. There are plenty of on-site restaurants offering a variety of delicious options, and I especially enjoyed the elegant afternoon tea. The pool area is also a great spot to relax and unwind. Overall, a perfect place for both comfort and luxury. Price is affordable, Highly recommended!
