What a pleasant surprise! Location is great only 5 minutes walk from train station. There is one bridge to walk over, easy enough to do with a luggage bag and depending on the time of day/night there are baggage porters at the station whom can take the luggage for a small fee (approximately $5 per bag) Rooms smaller in size approx 19sqm fitted a Queen and single just enough room to accommodate our minimal time spent in it mostly sleeping as we were out and about exploring anything and everything. No view but window could open and the AC worked well. Small TV and the shower over bath was a bonus also had body wash and hand wash, towels with heated towel rack. Again small but enough for what we needed. View rooms also available. Level 1 and 2 have stairs (no lift) but the staff will assist if you ask however everyone including us took our own luggage. Great checkin and then meet Angel the following morning whom was able to extend us for two more nights and keep us in the same room. The breakfast was ample consisting of tea/coffee,juice, fruits,pastries,bread with options to toast,deli plate hams,cheeses,tomatoes and the usual Nutella,Jams etc my favourite yogurt and granola/oats. Best of all location,get a 24,48 or longer public boat pass to use throughout your stay and also takes you to Murano and Burano. Location,Location,Location!

The room was really tiny. The breakfast wasn't worth paying extra but you can't expect much from venice hotels.

This is very old hotel with rundown condition. Room WiFi service was not totally unable to connect throughout the stay. There was no lift and we have to manually carry our luggage. First day of arrive, we were give a room a third floor which totally unexpected without having a lift to carry out belongings manually. After request front desk staff, we were given another room at Hotel Air One which is next building to Hotel Canal and Walter. But there was no lift too and room TV was not working at all. Hotel Air One is extremely old and we didn’t see any guests at all. Next day, we managed to get a room at 1st floor in Hotel Canal and Walter. For family, I don’t recommend this hotel.

The Canal & Walter is extremely old. I understand that…BUT…updates have not been made in YEARS AND YEARS. The young staff at the front desk are great. The gentleman running breakfast couldn’t be better. ROOM 102 The bathroom has black mold - there is a window in the shower with a curtain rod BUT NO CURTAIN. So the window is rotting and moldy. The shower head is broken. The bathroom has a floor drain but when new tile was installed MANY YEARS AGO the drain was not raised so it is an extremely bad trip hazard. There are NO towel rods. There are no safety handles in the slick tub/shower. Entering the bathroom there is a 3-4” step - another trip hazard. The furnishings, from the 1960’s, in this room are totaling worn out. There is only one luggage rack so the only option is to use one of the two chairs or the small desk. This is very inconvenient. When scanning the room for items we might have missed in packing, we found garbage under the bed. The breakfast is sufficient. I would give one star out if 5, at best. The smell of bug spray was so overwhelming that it seemed toxic. The air conditioning unit did not work so unknowingly we opening the windows for some fresh air only to wake up with dozens or more mosquito bites. We stayed 3 nights. The 2nd night we closed the windows and relied on the air conditioning unit. After a long night of restless hot sleep, we left for the day only to return to find the UNIT WAS TURNED OFF by the staff.

Terrible experience, wifi doesn't work and no seem know anything about it. Aircon not working as well, it feel like sleeping in oven at night. Alot mosquito as well.

Room and 🚽 are rather small. If the 🏨 is over 100 euro per night, dont recommend to stay.

Very good, pleasantly surprised, good hygiene, deodorization and freshness, breakfast buffet. It seems that the room type was upgraded? ? ? Because it is very big. The view of the Grand Canal is outside the window, and it is very quiet after closing the window. The air conditioner can be used, the cooling temperature is also very comfortable, and the hot water is also very comfortable. Very cost-effective, cheap, with breakfast, and the train station is just across the bridge. Perfect! But, there is no elevator. I am on the first floor so it is okay. If I am assigned to a high floor, I will have to work hard to get down.
