The location of the hotel was great! It's near at least 2 train stations (and bus stops), lots of cafes and restos, and shopping areas. The price is great too! It's enough to enjoy the provided room and amenities plus there's unli chips and coffee at the lobby. For the appearance of the hotel, it's nice, the vintage design was straight to the point❤️ My only comment is the very firm mattress needs additional cushion and sometimes there's a lingering moist scent in the hallways, maybe coz of old carpeting on the floor. All in all, great hotel and great service! Highly recommended for families or friends!

Clean and new renovated hotel, great location and convenient to walk around

I recently stayed at Vagus Hotel in Taipei and was impressed by several of its special characteristics. The hotel boasts a prime location, just a short walk from Taipei Main Station and Ningxia Night Market. This made exploring the city incredibly convenient, whether I was hopping on a train or enjoying local street food. The accommodations were comfortable and well-appointed, featuring air-conditioning, a private bathroom, and essential amenities that ensured a pleasant stay. Additionally, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent, with a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi adding to the convenience. However, there was one notable downside during my stay: the water pressure for bathing was very low, and the hot water supply was unstable. This made showering less comfortable than I had hoped, as it was challenging to get a consistent flow of warm water. I sincerely hope the hotel management can address this issue by improving the water pressure and stabilizing the hot water supply, as it would significantly enhance the overall guest experience. Despite this drawback, I would still recommend Vagus Hotel to others. Its strategic location, comfortable rooms, and great service make it a strong choice for travelers. With some improvements to the bathing facilities, I believe this hotel could offer an even more enjoyable stay.

The hotel is conveniently located 5mins away from Zhongshan station (green line). The room was adequate for 2 people, with slippers, fresh towels, and a bath tub. Lots of places to eat outside. There was a very good beef noodle house just a good 20m from the hotel, and it was the best thing!

Mixed Experience at Vagus Hotel My stay at Vagus Hotel had its ups and downs. Pros: The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the check-in process smooth and pleasant. Additionally, the hotel's location is highly convenient, being close to bus stops and MRT stations, making it easy to navigate the city. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, which contributed to a comfortable stay. Cons: Unfortunately, there were a few drawbacks. The soundproofing of the rooms was quite poor, as I could hear conversations from the neighboring rooms clearly, which affected the overall comfort. The lighting in the room was rather dim, creating a slightly gloomy atmosphere. Moreover, the air conditioning system could not be adjusted individually, which limited temperature control and personalized comfort. Overall, while Vagus Hotel has several positive aspects, there are areas that could benefit from improvement to enhance the guest experience.

Had a nice stay at Vagus Hotel in Zhongshan, Taipei! Perfect location right in the heart of Zhongshan, steps away from the MRT, trendy cafes, and night markets. Exploring Taipei was a breeze! The room was compact but smartly designed, with super comfy beds and spotless bathrooms. The soundproofing was great, so we slept peacefully despite the central location.

It's an old hotel remodeled to Retro theme. It portrays the "Old Chinatown" vibe in the books. Some will say lobby is too dark, but it perfectly fits the theme. Considering the neighboring establishments like Bar and Lounges, Cafes, Local food stalls and restaurants, Spa and Massage parlours, Vagus Hotel is the best option you can get in Zhongshan District. Do not expect it to be luxurious and modern. Room is enough for couples. Bed is spring made, not cotton so you can say it's hard. Pillows are soft. Classic bathtub, no bidet toilet. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided. Free snacks and drinks. Overall, if you're looking for convenient location, affordable price hotel in Taipei, hip and artsy, you can consider Vagus Hotel.

Old facilities, Good location, Good Service... The wall and window cannot block the noise from the outside and the next door.

The room is old and noise is a problem but the location is prime.

Very friendly and helpful staff. All them did a great job. Unfortunately my room did not match that quality. Why visually okay at first I noticed the worn and carpets and therefore super hard floor. While technically clean, I always kept my slippers on. Mattress was very hard, still good for my taste but far from the softness level I would expect from an hotel. Otherwise all amenities were as described and good. Really hope they put some more money into updating the place, because otherwise it has quite the charm of an 70/80s style hotel. Great potential.

Very good location. The staff is quite polite. A bit dark in general and the room I got basically had no window. A good stay overall.

It is about 10mins walk away from station, but is still acceptable for a couple of nights stay.

Staff friendly and helpful. Great location near museums, markets, museums and shopping malls. Would stay again.
